  1. I mean he predicted 16-12. Not 19-9. So.... And everything he pointed out about you is true. Just a difference of opinion? Not by the looks of it.
  2. Dbacks have come back to take the lead against the Pirates with Skenes out of the game.
  3. Willy's been one of our best hitters along with Chourio and Mitchell lately.
  4. EV alone maybe. EV and LA is what matters. Brewers have a .319 xBA vs. .259 xBA for Nationals. Just brutal.
  5. No one's forcing themselves to love this trade. They're just choosing to not make a definitive assessment of the trade after a single start.
  6. You're not the only one either. Some thought he had more value and put him in some unrealistic trade proposals, but it's been clear for a while now that his value is minimal.
  7. Junis is making $7 million with a $3 million buyout for next year and putting up zero WAR. That's a negative asset. And is borne out by BTV ($-3.2 million SV). Wiemer has a surplus value of just under $7 million per BTV. That's down by more than 50% compared to a year ago. If you had asked me a week ago, I would've said the exact same thing.
  8. Yeah. Quite frankly, the cost was pretty negligible. Junis is a negative, expiring asset and Wiemer has very low value at this point.
  9. Re. Montas. I saw some stuff to be encouraged by tonight. Particularly regarding his velo and the 0 walks. I also saw some hard contact given up and pitches left out over the plate. Conclusion: Too early to say anything definitive. As I said, I feel pretty confident that he can be an improvement over Keuchel. How much of any improvement that is we'll see. I think there's stuff for our pitching development staff to work with.
  10. That Keuchel was supposed to be some kind of improvement? I don't quite recall that argument being made. I mostly remember people crossing their fingers regarding a guy who was seemingly washed and who we purchased for $1.
  11. Montas is effectively replacing Keuchel's spot in the rotation. I feel pretty safe saying that's an upgrade at this point.

  13. Special and well worth the (slight) wait!
  14. "Clearly not ready for prime time." That's setting yourself up. Granted, he's not the only one in the fanbase who had this take early on, but there were also quite a few more simultaneously urging patience with a 20 year old player.
  15. Just because you post doesn't mean you insulate yourselves from all future criticism of your posts like there's a statute of limitations or something. It's a free discussion board, which goes both ways. He had a right to make a post that he very well knew (or at least should have known) would almost certainly not age well. And others have a right to look back on that and point that out. I'm not sure I would have done it in quite the same fashion Chorizo did, but Jopal did set himself up here. There was pushback even when he made his original post. I'll stand by all my takes and take the criticism when deserved.
  16. Yeah. With Yelich being on the shelf and Black showing relatively well in the OF, I think a recall of Black could be imminent. We're short on a lefty bat who can get on base at the top of the order right now with Turang struggling, and if there's anything that describes Black to a "T" it's that. He hasn't hit for as much power lately, but all he really has to do is hit for more than Frelick. Trading a non-Chourio OFer at the deadline would have helped sort this out a bit, but I think the time is here to give Black an extended run of ABs. And I think you can find them between the OF, DH, and 1B.
  17. I mean if you had followed Chourio at all during his ascent through the minors it was pretty easy to see something like this happening. So, you kind of set yourself up for that. There's something that has never been in doubt whatsoever with Chourio and that is his psyche/confidence. Even when he was struggling, he wasn't overwhelmed to the extent that a Jackson Holliday, for example, was.
  18. Peguero with inherited runners. Brace yourselves....
  19. Inexcusable managerial mistake there by Murphy to not pinch hit for Monasterio there.
  20. Yeah, injuries can always happen. And I would like to see him find a true defensive home. But, gosh, if that home is in the OF grass hard to see him having much of an impact in Milwaukee in the immediate future.
  21. Overall, I'm fine with not mortgaging any pieces from what should be a nice extended window opening up here in the next few years. I will be interested to see how they plan on getting outs in the postseason, though. Hard to do bullpen games all the time. We really need Freddy to pick it up like he did in the 2nd half last year.
  22. Too bad there's no room on the OF grass in Milwaukee.
  23. How do the Dodgers get away with this.
