  1. They're definitely not that far removed. I can remember a Yelich trade call just this past offseason off the top of my head. Awesome how he's gotten healthy and back to his all-star self. A true Brewers legend. I personally think it would be fun if he got to do the Derby after he was forced to pull out back in '19. Only 8 HR this year obviously, but a lot of the big guns such as Judge, Ohtani, etc have already announced they're not doing it so you never know.
  2. And how do you arrive at that conclusion from my original point?
  3. I care about BA about as much as I care about gardening.
  4. He's also gotten less ABs than Sal Frelick during that timeframe. I'm not sure that's fine. 32 year old Christian Yelich, for example, hasn't gotten any days off.
  5. He's 20 years old and has had more off days than every primary starter, with the all-star break coming up in less than two weeks....Keep in mind, this is also the same team that refuses to give Adames and Contreras days off. Unless he is suffering after effects from those collisions, he should be in the lineup as the team's hottest hitter and one of its best fielders against a favorable pitcher.
  6. I don't know how you keep Chourio out of the lineup right now, but okay. Of course, I also didn't see how you could pinch hit for him the other night, so.....
  7. His bat plays better than Andruw Monasterio right now, which is all that matters.
  8. Definitely feels like Frelick at 3B is imminent.
  9. Civale’s solid peripherals have already been mentioned, but I love this deal even more if it means the end of Bryse Wilson in the rotation. Hard to imagine they’d cut bait with Keuchel after last night.
  10. A reverse unicorn with that ball being gone in 29/30 ballparks...
  11. Remember all of the handwringing over Chourio's defense? Also, there is zero reason to ever play him in LF in "deference" to Frelick. Might not happen until next year, but it's really only a matter of time until he takes hold of the CF spot.
  12. I wish I had any confidence in Keuchel in this ballpark with our struggles against the Rockies to cough up any less than 5 runs. Score, score, and score some more is the name of the game tonight.
  13. Yay! Mitchell's back and Chourio becomes a weak side platoon bat!
  14. Mitchell is going to have to prove he can stay healthy a lot longer than that for me to be comfortable dealing from our OF depth. This is a guy who's played in 3 total games over the last year and a mere 47 over the past two years.
  15. It's not that far-fetched. Certainly not going to win it, but he's top 5 in bWAR in the NL. Good enough for some down ballot votes. https://x.com/Dom_Cotroneo/status/1807531107379826945
  16. I'll take the three inning baffling if they have him out before the end of the 4th with a 7 spot.
  17. He posts on the very day we completed our sweep of the reigning WS champions....As we did during their championship season last year on the road....
  18. Semien vs. Keuchel is sure to end well....
  19. This ump has missed 4 calls this inning alone.
  20. Trying to figure out why Frelick is the OF that gets to play 7 games a week….
  21. Why not. The Padres haven't gotten enough gift calls this series.
