  1. 3-2 count....He had to put it in the zone because Chourio didn't chase the other slider in the dirt.
  2. Yeah it wasn't hanging. It was 3-2 count so he had to throw one in the zone.
  3. Chourio's salary should most definitely dictate what they do with him....To pretend otherwise is naive. Also, there's other players who are doing an equally good job of "dragging the team offense down".
  4. You're not doing it right if you sit Chourio on the bench only to bring him into face the other team's nastiest reliever. It was a tough pitch in that situation because Romero's giving him all sinkers and changeups and then puts that in there with his ability to tunnel. I'll blame Chourio because you probably still should fight it off, but I blame Murphy more for putting him in that spot after sitting him for 4 straight games.
  5. It's a tough pitch when Romero tunnels his pitches as well as he does. It's a heck of a spot for a 20 year old.
  6. Chourio's AB was fine. Romero just made a great pitch to a 20 year old. I blame Murphy for sending him out cold in that spot. Ortiz got screwed by the ump.
  7. Chourio it is. Heck of a spot to put him in, Murph. lol. Set the kid up for success.
  8. Absolutely have to pinch hit for Sal here.
  9. I guess we should've expected this with the lineup Murphy put out today.
  10. Murph doing a great job holding Sal Frelick accountable obviously.
  11. Not anymore thanks to our friend Yasmani!
  12. Mis hanging in there despite some command issues surfacing that last inning. Continue to think the best path forward with him is to use up some of his bullets getting his feet wet out of the major league bullpen as opposed to starting the whole season and/or going to AAA. Like how the Cubs are using Ben Brown.
  13. Because Murphy is holding people accountable. That's why!
  14. Even then what about Frelick who's made multiple costly OF miscues, including one just this past week, and has been garbage with the bat?
  15. Ready for him to start holding Oliver Dunn and Sal Frelick accountable. This organization must have so much more invested in those guys over Chourio, right?
  16. I'm fine with Bauers because he's been hitting the ball better the last week or so. But Frelick and Dunn...
  17. Anyone who's watched Chourio's ABs over the last two weeks or so can see some pretty big steps forward in terms of AB quality. K rate has dovetailed to less than 10%. Not many XBHs yet, but he's also been hitting the ball harder than he ever has. Chourio was paid $80 million to get ABs and figure it out at the big league level. Not to be relegated to a bench role after one month. If anyone needs to go down to get back on track, it's Frelick...
  18. Which is pretty bizarre to me considering he was putting together some of his best at bats as a big leaguer before this four game stretch. Was hitting over .300 the last week and his K rate has dovetailed.
