  1. Sanchez homered last night, and has been a good hitter. Haase hasn't.
  2. Do not understand Sanchez, who supplied our only run last night, being out of the lineup and Owen Miller playing 1B and hitting 3rd, but okay.
  3. Hard hit balls from the Brewers are just not going to find a hole in this series.
  4. Bryse Wilson stellar job first time through the order. See if he can get through the second time unscathed.
  5. FWIW, it's not just Winker.... https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/_/id/32810
  6. Yeah. Black is a better hitter and more versatile defensively. It will happen eventually.
  7. Yophery Rodriguez with another 3x on base afternoon. And no strikeouts! Very early, but slash line now at .344/.432/.531. He'll be 18 this entire season. For reference, another 18 year old prodigy in our system named Chourio was still in extended spring training at this stage of the season.
  8. Terrible steal call. Terrible to not hit Dunn for Wiemer.
  9. At least you knocked Burnes out of the game. His stuff was good today. Fortunately, the Brewers made him work for everything.
  10. We went two months without a Corbin on the roster.
  11. Brewers at least should know to not even think about the top of the zone today. Burnes still doesn't use it.
  12. Lol. Bill. It's fun being happy after a Burnes HR.
  13. Frelick was born to hit in the leadoff spot. Not sure why Murph is hesitant after starting Frelick in the leadoff spot to start the season especially now that he's caught fire a bit.
  14. If Yophery can just get that K rate down, he'll be shooting up prospect lists.
  15. Just need a Chourio homer off of Burnes tomorrow to break out of his slump and all will be well.
  16. Interesting side note that a certain other Venezuelan on our team modifies his load and employs the toe tap (as opposed to the full leg kick) against pitchers who are trying to pepper him with spin and offspeed. And he's only 20 years old..... https://x.com/VzlanosMLB/status/1778227655176761495
  17. It's possible. Feel like he's a guy that's going to be really good or get hit really hard with his 4 seamer. Gotta give it a try I feel like though.
  18. BTV (not the gospel) also had it as an overpay by the Orioles, fwiw. Burnes is great but the Orioles only get him for one season.
  19. Hall was a top 5 prospect in their system but his prospect eligibility expired last season. Ortiz would be a top 5 prospect if he was still in their system, per Pipeline and Fangraphs....
  20. Ortiz is literally a top 100 prospect. Ranked #45 in baseball according to Fangraphs. Behind only Holliday, Basallo, Mayo, and Kjerstad. That's top 5....Holliday, Basallo, and Mayo are/were pipedreams, and Kjerstad is an OF which we have zero need of. Ortiz is also hitting .313/.450/.375 with potential plus plus defense anywhere on the IF. Remember, we lose Willy Adames after this season.... Hall is a former top 100 prospect who mowed down the World Series champions in the postseason last year and comes into this season with an 11.4 K rate/2.44 FIP and 3-4 plus to plus plus pitches. The Orioles farm system is historically great. That should be the only takeaway right now.
  21. Much needed quality start from Ross. Like what I've seen from him to start the year.
