  1. I guess we should've expected this with the lineup Murphy put out today.
  2. Murph doing a great job holding Sal Frelick accountable obviously.
  3. Not anymore thanks to our friend Yasmani!
  4. Mis hanging in there despite some command issues surfacing that last inning. Continue to think the best path forward with him is to use up some of his bullets getting his feet wet out of the major league bullpen as opposed to starting the whole season and/or going to AAA. Like how the Cubs are using Ben Brown.
  5. Because Murphy is holding people accountable. That's why!
  6. Even then what about Frelick who's made multiple costly OF miscues, including one just this past week, and has been garbage with the bat?
  7. Ready for him to start holding Oliver Dunn and Sal Frelick accountable. This organization must have so much more invested in those guys over Chourio, right?
  8. I'm fine with Bauers because he's been hitting the ball better the last week or so. But Frelick and Dunn...
  9. Anyone who's watched Chourio's ABs over the last two weeks or so can see some pretty big steps forward in terms of AB quality. K rate has dovetailed to less than 10%. Not many XBHs yet, but he's also been hitting the ball harder than he ever has. Chourio was paid $80 million to get ABs and figure it out at the big league level. Not to be relegated to a bench role after one month. If anyone needs to go down to get back on track, it's Frelick...
  10. Which is pretty bizarre to me considering he was putting together some of his best at bats as a big leaguer before this four game stretch. Was hitting over .300 the last week and his K rate has dovetailed.
  11. No Chourio in the starting lineup for the 4th straight game…No Ortiz either again. What are we even doing? Gotta get Frelick, Dunn, and Perkins in there, though.
  12. True. I don't think they'll fire Mozeliak in season out of respect for what he's done, but Marmol could definitely not make it out of MKE with the team.
  13. And if one wants to play that game, you can't really can't go ahead and ignore Ruiz almost equaling Hader's WAR with his 1.3 fWAR with the A's last year....
  14. Gasser didn't have anything to do with the Hader trade? What?
  15. Turns out the much hated Josh Hader trade wasn't so bad for us either, as we've parlayed 1.5 years of Hader into Contreras, Payamps, and Gasser. Taylor Rogers and Dinelson Lamet didn't work out obviously, but man that trade is just the sort of thing that small market clubs need to do to remain competitive in the long run.
  16. After seeing what Brice Turang has done this year, I'm pretty much the last person that's going to rule Frelick out. After all. his production in the minors was superior to all of him, Wiemer, Mitchell, Turang, etc.
  17. 0 walks is definitely the most impressive thing about Gasser's start. He should definitely replace Myers. If Gasser can sustain success in the big leagues, we should be able to ride him pretty far with him having pitched about 140 innings the past two years. Early season injury could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
  18. Yeah, I believe I can. I was one of the ones saying it was unlikely he would become Barry Bonds again, but that Marlins/1st half 2018 Yelich was still in him. Which would fulfill a large chunk of his contract value with inflation. I would also say we have different definitions of "trash". Even in 2021-2022, he still averaged more than 2 bWAR/162, which is above average.
  19. I would bet a lot of money on this being the final year for this regime of Cardinals baseball. And it's glorious.
  20. Remember the days when Yelich's contract was a subject of consternation in pretty much every IGT? Fun times.
  21. Not even close to the strike zone....
