  1. Jared Koenig now the listed starter for tonight....
  2. Would be nice to see Gasser generate a few more whiffs.

  4. I think you have a lighter understanding of how the Brewers have and must operate under the parameters of MLB's existing financial structure. Don't tell me what team to root for.
  5. Yeah. They had him positioned for no doubles defense when the tying run was already in scoring position. Coaching staff has to make sure that doesn’t happen.
  6. It was not an “easy fly ball”. Per statcast it was a 0% catch probability. lol Not that I fully buy it was 0%, but you have to remember JC’s speed gets him to balls the average RFer doesn’t get to.
  7. He did not get to it. He would’ve had to dive for it regardless.
  8. FWIW, statcast had the Chourio play as a 0% catch probability. Yeah, he should’ve probably dove in the end, but he was able to get close because of his speed.
  9. The old fly out in 29/30 ballparks....
  10. I've always been an advocate of calling Mis up as soon as he manages to bring his control to a somewhat acceptable level. Even if it means skipping over AAA. That time is not right now, however. Last night another reminder.
  11. Murphy has been pushing the wrong buttons a little too much for my liking. Despite our record. He got too cute playing platoon advantages tonight when Perkins and Miller are just abysmal hitters. But mostly the loss is on Freddy not pitching like an ace. He needs to figure it out.
  12. There's the superstar talent....You can count on one hand (and not use up all of your fingers) the # of 20 year olds on the planet who can do that, and at the major league level.
  13. He and his brother are such competitors. I don't see why beating out his brother for a FA contract wouldn't be a huge part of that.
  14. To be fair, it was more like their entire lineup that went nuts lol. Have never shrugged my shoulders more than that series.
  15. He just needs more contact, too. For a player with his batted ball profile, he can't be running out K rates above 20%.
  16. I can't understand anyone who isn't at least in favor of the B/S challenge system. This is ridiculous. Zone for Gasser is completely different than the one Perez is getting.
  17. I think what it comes down to is they thought they could get an upgrade on D and not lose any offense with Murphy. They were trying to improve on the margins after losing in the NLDS to the Phillies despite their super lineup. Fortunately, the Brewers said, "we'll happily take the offense and go ahead and turn him into an above average defender with our catching lab."
  18. There will be no extension. But also: MVP!
  19. Yeah. I meant the solid 3/4 starter version and not the 2023 shell of himself version.
  20. I watch Robert Gasser and I think Eric Lauer, but with a legitimate out pitch in a sweeper.
  21. He's getting paid big league money currently, too....Not the major part of his salary, but still quite a bit more than a rookie contract/the major league minimum. You have to give him more time against big league pitching, something that's simply not replicable in AAA. It's not like we any better options right now either, especially with Hoskins likely to go on the IL. He's already shown one major sign of adjustment as his K% has dovetailed to 10% over the last few weeks. Now, he's gotta work to better counts and start swinging at drivable pitches and driving the ball. And he'll probably have until Mitchell returns to do so.
  22. Frelick is still probably more deserving of being sent down. He's sucked even more with the bat by xwOBA and doesn't have Chourio's secondary skills. I'm not saying Chourio shouldn't ever be sent down, but you've got $80 million reasons to give him as much leash as possible. Why my guess is until Mitchell returns.
