  1. Lol. Bill. It's fun being happy after a Burnes HR.
  2. Frelick was born to hit in the leadoff spot. Not sure why Murph is hesitant after starting Frelick in the leadoff spot to start the season especially now that he's caught fire a bit.
  3. If Yophery can just get that K rate down, he'll be shooting up prospect lists.
  4. Just need a Chourio homer off of Burnes tomorrow to break out of his slump and all will be well.
  5. Interesting side note that a certain other Venezuelan on our team modifies his load and employs the toe tap (as opposed to the full leg kick) against pitchers who are trying to pepper him with spin and offspeed. And he's only 20 years old..... https://x.com/VzlanosMLB/status/1778227655176761495
  6. It's possible. Feel like he's a guy that's going to be really good or get hit really hard with his 4 seamer. Gotta give it a try I feel like though.
  7. BTV (not the gospel) also had it as an overpay by the Orioles, fwiw. Burnes is great but the Orioles only get him for one season.
  8. Hall was a top 5 prospect in their system but his prospect eligibility expired last season. Ortiz would be a top 5 prospect if he was still in their system, per Pipeline and Fangraphs....
  9. Ortiz is literally a top 100 prospect. Ranked #45 in baseball according to Fangraphs. Behind only Holliday, Basallo, Mayo, and Kjerstad. That's top 5....Holliday, Basallo, and Mayo are/were pipedreams, and Kjerstad is an OF which we have zero need of. Ortiz is also hitting .313/.450/.375 with potential plus plus defense anywhere on the IF. Remember, we lose Willy Adames after this season.... Hall is a former top 100 prospect who mowed down the World Series champions in the postseason last year and comes into this season with an 11.4 K rate/2.44 FIP and 3-4 plus to plus plus pitches. The Orioles farm system is historically great. That should be the only takeaway right now.
  10. Much needed quality start from Ross. Like what I've seen from him to start the year.
  11. After this night from Perkins and with Dunn cooling off a bit, I have a feeling we may be trending towards Sal getting his first start at 3B.
  12. Looks like they should be able to get the game in tonight. Could very well be the last game of this series though.
  13. Need robots to make routine catches at 1B apparently, too.
  14. If we can get 4 innings of 3 runs or less from Ashby tonight, I'll be happy. Just needs to keep things on the ground if he's going to give up hard contact, which I suspect he will due to his still diminished velocity.
  15. Honestly, Ortiz is probably a better fit at SS than Turang, assuming both hit.
  16. 1B) Black 2B) Turang/EBJ/Dunn SS) Ortiz 3B) Wilken
  17. He's coming off a torn ACL and not playing a single game last year.
  18. Remember when Yeli couldn't pull a HR to save his life??
  19. Not at that contract...Catchers do not age well. I think the deal that makes the most sense for club and player is one that pays him a lot of money now while he's in arbitration and the Brewers are well below their payroll threshold and in exchange the Brewers get a deal that doesn't go into his mid 30s. Maybe something like 5 years $80 million, with an option year or two at around $20 mil, heavily front-loaded.
  20. I think Trevor Megill going on IL probably cost them a W today. He would've gone at least 1, probably 2. Then again, Bukauskas wouldn't have been available, so you never know.
