  1. Hell of a year from Miley. 3.14 ERA from your #4....
  2. How many soft groundball hits are the Cardinals going to get.
  3. For a guy who's supposed to hit lefties, Perkins doesn't hit lefties very well.
  4. Yeah Caratini hitting cleanup against a lefty and Rowdy and Turang in the lineup says it all.
  5. Burnes still the listed pitcher for tomorrow. I doubt that changes and I doubt he’d want to skip given last year’s arbitration proceedings. He’ll want to try to get to 200ks at least, even though he’ll likely fall just short of 200 innings.
  6. Unfortunately, it's only a matter of time until Marmol gets axed and Yadi replaces him.
  7. There is absolutely nothing else newsworthy in Milwaukee right now so I'm just counting down the minutes until this game starts.
  8. Yeah. Same with the Cards. We all fell under their devil magic spell.
  9. I actually think they win tonight. Despite the celebration, they didn't sound thrilled with how they'd been playing the past couple days and look eager to get back on the winning train.
  10. So, I'm very close to getting the regular season record right. Missed on the WC part because I, like most everyone else, was in a Cards trance preseason (though I was rightly skeptical of their pitching and Goldschmidt/Arenado repeating career seasons in their mid 30s). Aced disappointments with Lauer, Bush, and Mitchell (I accurately didn't expect him to stay healthy). Also did very well with breakout predictions, hitting on Uribe and Peralta (made 30 starts and could very easily finish top 10 in Cy Voting, though his last start didn't do him any favors). Whiffed on Urias. Rowdy tricked me into thinking he was a good player. And I should have known better with Chourio given this front office is not as aggressive with upper level prospect promotions, not to mention being extremely judicious w/ 40 man spots and starting service time clocks.
  11. Bump. Fun to look back. Some people did very well. Some people did not so well.
  12. No. It's just the New York media who bitterly resent him for what he did (or more like didn't do) for their precious Yankees. It's become a vendetta at this point. Little do they know how complicit they are, particularly when star after star falters under the insane pressure in NY, only to go back to success somewhere else.
  13. No. But after last night, I'd say the chances are higher that the Cubs will miss the playoffs entirely given the Marlins' schedule.
  14. On a serious note, I would expect CC to still play to win this game tonight. Players did not sound thrilled with the three game losing streak and I don't think CC wants to coast like we did a bit in 2021. Maybe sit Yelich against the lefty, but otherwise play your usual contingent of righties, let Miley go the full length (he isn't starting in the Wild Card series), and use your "A" relievers if necessary (Devin hasn't pitched in almost 10 days).
  15. They’ll add another player or two to the bench. Don’t need as many pitchers for a three game series.
  16. Wait, so the fears of this division coming down to the Cubs series and even the last game of the season were grossly overexaggerated?
  17. Somebody needs to be the designated Devin watcher and make sure he doesn’t go punching any walls.
  18. Guess we'll have to clinch tomorrow. Frustrating.
