  1. Well, the kids that grew up on Pokémon are now in their early 20s, for some it's probably nostalgia, for some it's still a big part of their lives. I'd knock them, but it's my generation's fault that we've now had like 17 Transformers movies...
  2. It certainly makes you cool to a certain demographic, hopefully they also like what you sell . I am apparently uncool, as I needed met plush' explanation as well.
  3. Not sure how accurate the milb gameday is, but it appeared that Gatewood just missed the grand slam in the third.
  4. Grew up on Lake Michigan, and it will always hold a special place for me. Love a lot of the little lakes, but now that I live away from the big one, man do I miss it!
  5. I'm not sure he'll ever have the bulk to be Earvin Johnson. I think he's going to have to defend 3s and stretch 4s. If he can add a bit of muscle, he could be a terrifying slashing wing. Even scarier if his shot is somewhat consistent. I really can't think of a comp for him. He doesn't have the ball skills of Giannis, he seems to have a bit more all around game than Henson. He's not a Shawn Bradley type who will sit and wait to goaltend. He's interesting. My biggest concern for him is injury, but I feel that way about all the beanpole "stretch 4s" of this generation. Someone may actually snap Brandon Ingram in half this year. I agree on the summer league, Boomer. I'm more concerned by struggle than excited about success.
  6. I take summer stats with a grain of salt, but 17/17 against the DLeague All Stars probably means he's at least that level. Just happy he's not overwhelmed. Passport says he's 19.. I'm going to choose to believe that and think we may have something . At this point, our foreign scouts may need a raise. If they hit on GA and TM, that is pretty darn impressive.
  7. Reading the comments on the Wilkerson profile, I'm glad the Sox fans are unhappy with giving him up!
  8. Not a terrible summer league debut for Maker. 15 pts 13 boards 2 blocks.
  9. May have been necessary, but I feel for Davies. Guess you gotta get introduced to the business side at some point. Never thought I'd say this, but Boras isn't necessarily wrong.
  10. Hill did his part, and we got an interesting return. Hopefully Wilkerson isn't David Manning, and I can't complain about another middle IF prospect. Enjoyed Hill, hope he does well for Boston!
  11. Another nice night for Diplan. Jungmann may be headed to DSL at this rate...
  12. Maxed out as well. Milwaukee fans have rallied in the past, hope he gets in, certainly deserves it!
  13. Agreed on MCW, Austin. I don't think he's terrible, he's just not "the guy". He fits our defensive scheme, and can be somewhat useful as a spark off the bench. You don't give him away. I'm torn on Monroe. He's not bad to have around, because there are teams that you need that big body to match up, or can use his size to exploit a mismatch. It's just the amount he is paid, and the need to get him minutes that makes it difficult.
  14. After the last 2 days, Montoe is essentially being paid like a second unit player now, might as well hang onto him. Wow! Some contracts these guys are getting.
  15. Agreed, that's pretty cheap after what I've seen today. That Evan Turner signing just has me shaking my head.
  16. Stretch 4. Not a bad signing. For those that are fans of leadership qualities...he is the Captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team...
  17. I'm 6'8", 15 years and 50 pounds past my playing weight. At the height of my basketball career, I was the 11th man on a small NAIA team. I'm pretty sure I could get 2/18 in this market. I need an agent.
  18. Never probably going to get a conspiracy free answer. He showed his passport, good enough for me. Pre-dates the "mentor" that allegedly fudged his age.
  19. If they're worried about a logjam, they could give Erceg another quick audition stop. Give him a few starts at WI and see if he hits, if he's comfortable, send him up to Brevard. Otherwise, objectively, you figure out who is the faster moving prospect, and give him the starts.
  20. I could care less what he did in high school. I really don't care if he went to HS for 10 years. If he can play, he can play. Whether he is 19 or 24. Let's not kid ourselves by thinking he was going to get 5 years to develop. These guys get one, maybe two chances. They see something they like. I like the work ethic, he sounds like a pretty smart kid when he speaks about basketball, and he's got the wingspan of a 747. This wasn't a must hit for the Bucks. They could afford the flyer. There was squat else available. Any way you look at it, he's still about 17 years younger than our 2nd Round pick.
  21. I could be dead wrong, but I seem to recall a handful of college bats moving through rookie ball rather quickly. I may be confusing the AZ-Helena move with the Helena to Wisconsin. 37 AB may even be quick for that. I seem to remember Nick Ramirez blowing through Helena pretty quickly, and obviously Weeks/Braun superstars as well.
  22. Arguing? Umm? I don't think anyone can draw a conclusion after as little as 30 at-bats. A few 0-4 games and his stats are nothing special. I'd think one would need at least 100 at-bats before one could really decide how he is doing. I don't agree with this at the Rookie club level. It's usually pretty evident right away when you're advanced for that league. We skip guys out of there pretty fast with success. As far as where to play him, skip him to A+.
  23. I will say the Cardinals' ushers are pretty good about having people wait until breaks in the action. When you're in the better seats at least.
  24. I agree for the most part, Austin. I didn't have a problem with the initial placement, as he needed to see some better pitching than NAIA. He's seen it. He can hit it. Get him to Wisconsin. I think there's precedent. It seems every year, a couple of the college guys jump after a week or two when they prove they can handle the level.
  25. The two targets I have heard linked to the Bucks are Noah and Dellevedova. I don't understand the logic. Neither of those 2 fit what we are doing. Delly because Vasquez wasn't bad enough? Noah is a better fit than Monroe, but I've just never been a fan.
