Just bought tickets for the teenager and me to see Imagine Dragons in September. They are playing with Silversun Pickups and Cage the Elephant. I am musically uncool on just about everything post-grunge. I like what I've heard of Imagine Dragons, but know nothing of other bands. Are they good? Songs to listen to that are decent?

Brandon Knight was a pretty decent return for Jennings, with the exception of Wall, probably the most talented PG Kentucky has had in awhile. He needs time to develop, and what better place than the land of no expectations?

He's an interesting case, due to his one-dimensionality. I think a lot depends on how the next few years play out in the voting. I expect Biggio to get in next year. I'll be surprised if Bonds and Clemens don't get in within the next few. If the steroids guys get blackballed, rather than just punished by having to wait, then Dunn could make it. I wouldn't feel good about it, and he'd definitely be in the lower 5% of the guys in the hall (Bill Mazeroski fans have to be hoping he gets in, to take some heat off of Maz), but he'll have gaudy numbers. My first reaction though was, seriously, Adam Dunn? I still think he could have been the greatest slow pitch softball player of all time. Maybe there's a Hall for that?

No one is giving up their 2014 picks. Even the pick Philly got for Holiday is Top 5 protected. Hard to tank when your fan base won't support it. I'm guessing Boston has some bigger margins to work with, and can tank a season or two. Milwaukee doesn't really have that luxury. If they tank, I think they'll wind up in Seattle.

I worked in a Call Center for a major company in the financial industry a few years back. We were actually pretty efficient, and were sure never to give out inside lines. Then the company thought it would be a good idea to share our IM software with all major clients, so they could reach out to us without waiting on a phone. You think an email needs an immediate response? Try an instant message! Ugh, what a mess. Then they offshored the majority of support to Asia, which meant customers contacted us for all problems, regardless of domain. They weren't going to speak to "those idiots" when they had direct access to us. Was quite happy when that contract expired and I moved on!

Jennings is willing to dish, but he doesn't seem to excel at the prevalent offense at the moment. He can't run a pick and roll. Everyone is trying to run multiple hybrids of a pick and roll offense. This is going to be a problem for him. He maybe fun to watch in a D'Antoni type offense, where the game is in transition, and speed is all that matters. Other than that, he will struggle. This could be a new era of suckitude for the Bucks. If BJ, Ellis and JJ all leave, they have nothing. Ilyasova, Sanders, and the like are complimentary pieces. They need an Alpha dog, and I don't see a good one available to them that is an upgrade from what they had. If there was ever a season to tank, this is it.

I agree that I seemed to enjoy the non-Kanye elements more than him, which is odd, as I generally enjoy his music. I guess I liked him more as a lyricist on his earlier albums, that appears to have gone away on this album. This album just seemed to me to be "how many different ways can I basically present the same words?" I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. I did enjoy the first song on the album, I'm sure you won't be able to go to a club without hearing it a few times.

I think with the amount of insider access ESPN is given, if Bosch were going to back up Braun, they would know. MLB, if they are using ESPN for a mouthpiece, wouldn't set themselves up to look stupid again, I wouldn't think. I'm a realist about this, and I think I have been from the start. After reading through the last few pages, some things intrigue me. Braun was never found innocent, and like the word or not; he won his acquittal on a technicality. No one argued that the sample wasn't his, they argued that baseball didn't follow the process to the letter. The facts are that urine samples don't sprout synthetic testosterone when kept in a cool basement over a weekend. The test was positive, whoever took that test was on PEDs. Braun took that test. His lawyers were just smart enough to beat the system. This wasn't a conspiracy, no one was out to get him, he failed and found a way to beat the system. I know this is a "say it ain't so" moment, but it is what it is. Guilty people are acquitted every day because of failure of procedure. It doesn't make them innocent, it means the means of proving their guilt were not handled according to procedure. Regardless if that procedure is relevant. Good for him, good for Brewers baseball. This is an emotional topic, especially among super fans. He is the face of the franchise, we are heavily invested in him both financially and emotionally. If your opinion is that of guilt, you must be a hater. If you think he's innocent, you're a blind homer. Whoever said there is no shade of gray, is probably mostly right. My personal opinion, I think he used steroids to get healthy; which are their designed purpose. It's just against the rules, which I think are ridiculous, but probably necessary. As far as the current situation. Here's what doesn't make sense to me. Why is Braun's name on Bosch's books if he was a paid consultant? Braun wasn't gathering consultants, his lawyers were. They would have been the one to contact, and given their quality, they would have ensured his name was nowhere near those books. They also would have paid him, to ensure something like this doesn't happen. He doesn't have a public defender, he has extremely smart attorneys, the first to figure out how to beat MLB's system. They knew there would be backlash, they knew their sources would most likely be contacted...but they stiffed a shady PED pusher, and left Braun exposed? Really? Lawyers don't run around using their clients names, I don't even think that's legal. In all likelihood, if they did contact Bosch as a possible witness, the law firm would have a copy of the contract, and this never would have been a problem. I would think that when this information was released months ago, his lawyers would have come forward with this, and he would have been cleared, much like Gio Gonzalez was.

To echo TheCrew, I haven't lived there since '97, and I'm sure it's changed. My POV was mainly the U campus. Worth wandering around there for a bit. I used to enjoy Stub & Herb's for burgers. Don't remember much of downtown, but would be worth checking out who is at 5th Avenue that weekend.

Was in Syracuse for business last week, and was able to break away on Sunday to visit Cooperstown. Was definitely a bucket list visit, and really a good time. I was surprised at how small the museum was, for some reason I thought there would be much more "stuff". I looked at about everything in there, and it only took about 2 hours. I thought there would be stuff from all the members, and there may have been something in there from everyone, I just might have missed it. Yount had a jersey/helmet/cleats (I believe) from his 3k game. Fingers had a Brewers jersey, didn't see anything for Molitor, or any Sutton Brewers items. Hank Aaron has a pretty significant presence, with his own room. There was a good handful of Spahn stuff, and an Eddie Mathews item or two. The Brewers locker was very cool in the team locker room as well. They had Prince's 50 HR bat, Podsednik's cleats, one of Bill Hall's bats, Sheets' locker room plate, and some other items. Very cool experience, the town is a bit of a tourist trap, but we had some pizza from Sal's (across the street from the Wax Museum), and it was some of the best pizza I've had. Anyone else have thoughts on the HOF?

As long as he's not at SS, I don't think he's that bad of a player. He's the best option we have at the moment for 1B, on the current roster. When Corey comes back, I'm fine with him being the super sub for the infield. He had a prolonged hot streak when the team needed it most. I would argue that his success should not be entirely attributed to luck. His approach may not have changed, but it is possible he learned something (besides English), or refined his skills that led to improvement. I think Yuni is fairly good proof that stats don't tell you everything. He seems to be well liked, pretty even keeled, and willing to play every position. So his OBP sucks, call me an old school thinker that doesn't worry about having a hacker or two on the team.

Rainbow stuff is pretty outlandishly priced. Didn't realize the replacement would be that bad though. Ugh

Didn't read the whole thread, but did the Cardinals' 6 run inning remind anyone else of the luck of Ben Sheets? Peralta did everything he should have, broke bats, got dribblers...just had horrible luck. I remember this happening to Sheets quite a few times. Do everything right, and it still doesn't work out. The only truly hard hit ball that inning was Kozma's line-out.

They have them down here in STL as well. They came on last season, during Blues games they really promoted the concept. The original two they had were on the good side of foxy, they then replaced them with another two girls who were a bit down the ladder. I think they hoped the concept would take off like the UFC ring girls, but it really didn't. Sorry if this seems like I'm objectifying these women, but I think that being objectified is kinda their job description.

. For those cards, with those grades, it probably wouldn't be worth your money to grade them. Late 70s cards are plentiful enough that condition is everything, and they aren't old enough to give value to a 5-7 grade.

I actually read something interesting the other day, maybe I'm late to the game. You know those stupid posts on Facebook, where you find your "porn star" name, or "Mardi Gras" name, etc? The way to find out your name is usually related to security questions. Your porn star name is the name of your fist pet, and the street where you grew up. Then everyone posts their results, and give that wonderful private info to everyone. I never do these things, but it never ocurred to me that this was the purpose. I just thought people had too much time on their hands.

I've had limited success with the boom or bust boxes. They're pretty difficult to flip for any profit unless you list them within a day or so of release. Really, to turn a profit, you have to hit a major card of a major name. I wish they would follow the Upper Deck model on those, and just limit or get rid of the base cards. They have very little value, and it's just something more that I have to find room to store. In a product like that, just give me the hit cards.

The 33 Goudey Ruth is trimmed, which pretty much crushes the value. That being said, it was about the only way I was ever going to afford to have one in my collection. Worth it to own it. I have a few other 33s, in horrible shape, just to have them. I love the 58 set as well, I started collecting it when I got the Maris rookie. I have slowed down my collection to a stand still at this point. I'm a DoD employee, so I'm going to get treated to the upcoming furlough, instead of cards, I'm now trying to hoard cash! Perhaps my favorite part of my PC, that I don't have pics of, is my collection of 2005 Artifacts Robin Yount Patches. There were 50 made, and I think I have 12-13 of them.
