  1. I'm not sure you can say that, outside of the case against Molina. A lot of young names in the NL.
  2. I'm not sure if they are still in WI, but we have found that Aldi is consistently the cheapest, by far. The downside being, you're kinda planning your menu around what they have that week. Their produce is decent, baked goods are ok, we haven't found anything we didn't like there. It is where we try to do the bulk of our shopping.
  3. It's worth a shot for the Crew. They'll sell a few. $1k for a gift isn't out of the price range for a demographic. This makes no less sense to me than those who buy stock in the Packers.
  4. If it makes you feel better, the policy years ago was to only parallel park when the "front" car was present. I think they probably learned the hard way about having test takers try and park in the way parallel would actually be used. I do it fairly often, but am still fairly uncomfortable doing it after 20 years of driving.
  5. The answer could always be Alaska. Seasonal employment with the fishing industry, or year round with the pipeline...they both pay very well. Plus there is the dividend to consider. Always could try your luck working at Denali.
  6. My mother in law insists on them. She also insists on going into the bank to make a withdrawal or deposit. The only things mailed are bills she can't hand deliver. I think we'll see a lot less checks as that generation moves on. She doesn't trust the internet, or debit cards.
  7. I think Marshall is already a good PG. He's just not a scoring PG, which this team really doesn't need (they have knight for that). I am also curious who will wind up finishing the games. Coach K often did not have Parker on the floor in crunch time, will Kidd do the same? I agree with the interchangeable parts thing. We should match up well with other teams second units. I'm not sure how well we'll match up with their first units. At least this team should be pretty youthful and exciting. I won't be upset if they make a surprise run to the playoffs, and I won't be upset if they stink and pick up another piece in the draft. I will, however, watch some games this year...which is more than I can say about the last few years.
  8. 645, The only way this exercise makes sense is to take the current system into account. By 2019, we will know exactly what we have in our farm system. It can be assumed that the majority of the ML squad would not be protected 5 years out.
  9. FWIW, when I met Sheets in the offseason, he absolutely looked the part of an athlete. This was later on in his career as well. He struck me as another guy who looked sloppier in a uniform than he should.
  10. I haven't read all 11 pages, and was gone yesterday. Here are my thoughts. Parra is great as a super 4th OF. Someone was asking who this year's Hairston would be, looks like him. I don't think Parra really needs to platoon, I think he should just rotate through the outfield giving guys breaks. This is the time of year for nagging/exhaustion injuries. I would think that Parra would be a starter on most teams, and is certainly one of the top 4th OF in the game. Nice bench addition.
  11. What they didn't give you in financial repayment, you've gained in karma. I think you did the right thing on all counts, hopefully it will come back and repay you in another way.
  12. It looks like Row 60 is under the overhang, but I can't find any info on rows below that. At the very least, you may have some partial coverage.
  13. I would disagree, Henson and Knight are rotation guys. That and a future 1 in a weaker draft don't equal the #1 in this draft. I can't see a scenario where Cleveland doesn't end up with a high first in this year's draft. If the roles were reversed, there is no way I would take that return for Milwaukee. IMO, Henson/Sanders/#2 pick are the only thing that drags the #1 from Cleveland. Even that is iffy.
  14. Read on ESPN that Chad Ford states that Philly won't give up 3 and 10 to move to 1. They would give up 3 and Thaddeus Young.
  15. I would wager they have. I'm sure both played on traveling teams, and they're only about 4 hours apart. I'm sure they met in some tourneys. As far as high school, not likely unless it was a state tournament game.
  16. Years ago, they had one at Racine Country Club, but not sure if it still exists.
  17. This would be my last choice, however, given the location of the team, the mascot, and the demographic. Doesn't it make sense for them to keep green, and use a woodlands camo type coloring. I hate camoflage (ex-military, wore it for work, don't see the appeal), but given the amount of love for Cabela-esque fashion. Wouldn't they have to consider it for at least an alternate uni? Tell me honestly, you couldn't see people at WalMart buying Bucks jerseys in a hunting camo pattern?
  18. The more I read about Exum, the more intrigued I am. The talking heads seem to be souring on Wiggins, as they say he has the highest bust potential. I agree with most on Parker, he has a very high floor, but I'm not sure about his ceiling. I don't think Embiid wants to come to Milwaukee, and I'd rather not deal with a Steve Francis situation. As I said earlier, this draft is loaded with starters/rotation guys. Highly unlikely, but would love it if the Bucks could end up with 2 first rounders. I think there is talent still in the late lottery-20s area.
  19. I like Parker, he's going to be a good player on a bad team. He doesn't strike me as a world beater, but he'll score. He is probably the most ready to help this Bucks team. Exum is going to have a hard time creating with our limited offensive options at the moment. I'm not sure how I feel about Wiggins. I don't envy Hammond on this one. He is going to be second guessed regardless. The best pick in this draft may well be #4, as decisions will be made for you. There is some good late lottery talent as well. I think this draft is full of starters with a few possible All-Stars. I'm not sure there is a franchise guy, but as far as quality depth goes, you should be able to get rotation guys deep into the first round. Something that hasn't been possible in the last few drafts.
  20. As a teen of the 90's, I know I looked ridiculous in baggy jeans and flannel. Seeing the teens today in their skinny jeans brings me to a thought. I'd rather look ridiculous and be comfortable any day of the week.
  21. I had to pay for carpet cleaning when I left as well. I could clean the apartment, or opt for a $25 hour service as well. When, on final inspection, the landlord discovered that the ceiling fans were dirty (they were on when I got the place, and I could never figure out how to turn them off; it turns out, they needed an oddly timed series of pulls to turn them off...they treated me like an idiot for not knowing this. I had never had a fan that required 3 second pauses between chain pulls). Anyways, I didn't have any cleaning supplies, and was done cleaning. I told him to go ahead and pay someone for an hour of cleaning the fans, take it out of the deposit. It turns out, he was his own cleaning service, and he was furious that he had to do it. He was a jerk for the entirety of the lease, so I didn't really care. I told him that the option was available in the lease, and that I was taking it. This has little to do with your post, but I wish I had taken a picture of the guy when I told him I wasn't cleaning the fans. He was livid, totally worth the $25.
  22. I would consider that his major RC as well. Pujols had quite a few RC, but only a few are really recognized. His Bowman Auto is the pinnacle, but his UD, Topps, and maybe Fleer Platinum (I believe) were the other majors.
  23. I have 4 different Ken Griffey Jr RC, what do you consider the true one? Topps Traded? The card that launched the Upper Deck empire?
  24. www.dacardworld.com and www.charmcitycards.com are both reputable sites that I have dealt with in the past. I collected as a kid, and then got back into it around 2004. Collected for about 6 years, and just burned out. Stuff is expensive. The "hit" cards in the boxes, for the most part, have very little value. Additionally, I really liked Upper Deck, and wasn't thrilled when they were bumped out. I've pulled some cool stuff over the years. Now, when I want something, I just hit ebay and buy the specific card. Lose the thrill, but hang onto the money! For any value in cards, really the last frontier is hockey cards. The rookies are valuable, even when unsigned. Also, the insert cards that are worthless in baseball, have value for top teams/players. I think Canada keeps the secondary market afloat.
  25. I don't worry about the guys we cut. If they play well elsewhere, good for them. I'm surprised RA Dickey doesn't top your list of guys we let slip away.
