  1. I see someone didn't renew their sponsorship of the Brant Brown page, where it used to say "he dropped the ball.......NO!!!!!" Other than Yount, Molitor, or something really obvious, I'd like: Jim Bouton Mike Gosling (cause I played on his team when we were young) Pete Ladd or maybe some other cup of coffee Brewers like Jim Bruske or Trent Durrington.
  2. Hall's contract was bigger, but consider the inflation. The Brewers' payroll in 1991 was $24 million; today we are over $80 million.
  3. Can't say I agree with the Higuera part. He missed the entire 1992 season with injuries as the Brewers went 92-70; a record the Brewers have not reached since- even last year. The Brewers had some good teams in the late eighties as well. The worst signing in Brewer history, in my humble opinion, will always be Mr. Franklin Stubbs.
  4. Yovani on the bump tomorrow. All of I sudden I'm feeling okay about this series.
  5. I would love Braun to get the cycle just so I don't have to hear about Chad Moeller being the last one to do it anymore.
  6. Braun will bat next inning needing a double for the cycle.
  7. I've watched every pitch of this game. I never thought we were for sure going to lose and I still don't think we are for sure going to win. The less a person makes declarative statements, the less apt they are to look like a fool in retrospect.
  8. While I also wish him the best, I do believe that if his name was Joe Smith, there wouldn't even be a thread on this. It's not much different than losing Dave Krynzel.
  9. Didn't we end up making the playoffs?
  10. You are correct (both times). Jeter will likely be the first (barring a trade for someone on the cusp). I discounted Paul Waner simply because, if everyone was avoiding google and baseball reference, no one would have gotten it. I'm not quite that pedantic.
  11. My media guide says Manny was drafted in the 26th round, not the 42nd. Somebody's lying.
  12. Name the three players in the 3,000 hit club to have played with the Yankees (there are actually 4, but Paul Waner only had 1 hit while a Yankees, so I am discounting it).
  13. That was my exact quote when I heard.
  14. Miller Park = The new 41 Twin
  15. I'm not sure I agree. I think Prince has had a better year than Cameron. It's just that we expect more out of Prince than Cam, therefore it sometimes feels as though Cam is having a better year. As far as Yo goes, if he can get to nine wins and keep his ERA about the same, I think he should definitely be on the roster (though I don't care about W-L records as much as all-star selections seem to hinge on them).. He go 2 no decisions in a 1-0 win and a 1-0 loss and won two games with his bat. He could easily only have 4 wins due to bad luck).
  16. I know that Nolan Ryan is the only player to have his number retired by three teams. he wore number #34 for the Astros and Rangers. I know he wore #30 before that, but for some reason I always forget if was the Angels or Mets who retired his #30. I'll guess the Angels, but I could be wrong.
  17. I was wondering: Braun Fielder Cameron Hoffman Gallardo Who makes it? I say three: Braun, Fielder, & Hoffman. (Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread, but this seemed like the proper place to post this).
  18. I wouldn't say Jeff Samardzija scares me, but I hate him so much that if he did end up dominating the Brewers it would send me through a wall.
  19. I never would have thought that a guy with an ERA over 5.50 could further damage his ERA this much.
  20. I think die-hard Packer fan Ortiz is just bummed about the Brett Favre situation.
