  1. For a team with mediocre SP and great BP pitching, did we get it wrong not utilizing the bullpen more? Like if we don't come back and win/get the lead then Joel Payamps will be the only RP to touch the mound with a lead.
  2. Through 4 innings the Brewers have 1 batted ball that wasn't a ground ball or pop up (the Chourio HR to leadoff the game). Hard to score runs when you're not hitting line drives and fly balls.
  3. Why is Montas still in this game? Murph is managing this like it's a random June game and not the season on the line.
  4. Brewers just decided to stop playing Brewer baseball in the playoffs. **** defense. Not utilizing speed. No wonder we are getting our ass kicked.
  5. We can be serious and call Chourio botching an 85% catch probability liner and Payamps not covering 1B as errors even if the archaic error system doesn't consider them to be.
  6. 7 unearned runs against in 11 innings from this team. Absolutely pathetic.
  7. Brewers already are leaving outs on the field that they are capable of getting. Both the double play ball and the swinging bunt.
  8. Same here. Haven't even watched the other playoff games today because I just am not in the mood to watch baseball.
  9. Definitely can't feel too good about entering a do or die game against a LHP sporting a lineup with 3 hitters with a wRC+ over 100 on the season.
  10. Yeah I don't count 2020 for the same reason. 16 team format. No fans. 60 game season.
  11. 2020 had no fans and 16 playoff teams so don't think that's comparable to the current situation.
  12. Mets won game 2 against San Diego back in 2022. That's the only time a team has lost game 1 and won another game in the series. Teams going down 1-0 are 0-9 in series with a 1-9 record following game 1.
  13. In the current playoff format since 2022, teams are 1-9 after going down 1-0 in the series.
  14. I imagine this is what will likely happen. I was mostly just saying what I wanted even though I know it's not realistic.
  15. I think the only way Mitchell plays over Frelick is if Frelick can't go 2 days in a row. Frelick started against LHP with Mitchell on the bench during the stretch run.
  16. I'm feeling like trying something crazy tonight. 1. Perkins - CF 2. Chourio - LF 3. Contreras - DH 4. Adames - SS 5. Hoskins - 1B 6. Ortiz - 3B 7. Frelick - RF 8. Haase - C 9. Turang - 2B Brewers have given up 5, 6, and 8 runs in the 3 games Contreras as caught at catcher which since the Brewers made the playoffs in 2018 are the most, second most, and tied for the 3rd most runs we have given up in a game. Not saying it's Contreras fault, but I've been skeptical of his pitch calling this season.
  17. I think he will start the year in AA. In recent years I can’t think of a single time a player was pushed up a level for the final few games of the season and didn’t start the next season at that level.
  18. Here's the thing. That Mets lineup was just better than the Brewers. Here's the season wRC+ from the starting lineups tonight. Mets Lindor - 137 wRC+ Iglesias - 137 wRC+ Nimmo - 109 wRC+ Vientos - 133 wRC+ Alonso - 122 wRC+ Winker - 118 wRC+ Marte - 104 wRC+ Taylor - 98 wRC+ Alvarez - 102 wRC+ Brewers Turang - 87 wRC+ Chourio - 117 wRC+ Contreras - 131 wRC+ Mitchell - 126 wRC+ Adames - 119 wRC+ Bauers - 87 wRC+ Hoskins - 98 wRC+ Frelick - 86 wRC+ Ortiz - 104 wRC+ Mets worst hitter had a 98 wRC+. Brewers have 4 hitters with a wRC+ of 98 or lower.
  19. We are just losers unfortunately.
  20. 17 straight retired to end the game. They quit like a bunch of losers.
  21. I think we can beat either team, but yeah on paper I think our only notable advantage over the Dbacks is pitching depth which in a 3 game series becomes a lot less important. I think we have an edge in defense and baserunning but they have such a monster advantage in hitting.
  22. The Padres also have a much stronger lineup and their bullpen is stacked as well. On paper I think they are #2 behind the Phillies in the NL. Dodgers have too many pitching injuries to be #2 in my opinion
  23. How many pitches do we think Lucchesi throws? Do Mets throw him until his arm falls off? The most pitches he's thrown this season is 94.
  24. I'd say on paper that the Padres are the 2nd best team in the NL behind the Phillies at this point. They have the hitting, they have the rotation, and they have a super stacked leverage bullpen.
