  1. Enderson Mercado having a fantastic beginning of his start today. 3 perfect innings with 8 strikeouts.
  2. Dinges I could see at Carolina although I could also see them just keeping him in Arizona to work on his catching. I think Burke probably goes straight to Wisconsin. You already have a super packed IF in Carolina, so not sure how you can bring in Burke and manage playing time. Bitonti, Adamczewski, Di Turi, Baez, Guilarte are all IF only and in Carolina.
  3. That ball 1 call was especially questionable when you consider what Yoho's strikeout looked like. Those pitches look about as similar as could be.
  4. Should be worth nothing that the pitcher Biloxi is facing tonight is a Top 100 prospect and one of the biggest up arrow pitching prospects in the minors.
  5. Adamczewski seems to very much enjoy hitting pitches down and even below the zone.
  6. Wes Clarke will be an interesting one. He seems like he will have a very limited role in the MLB, but in that role he could be outstanding. He seriously crushes LHP and is atrocious against RHP. Is a power over hit 1B/DH weak side platoon worth protecting when Hoskins will likely be around in 2025? I don't know. Expected slash line vs LHP - .300/.424/.588, .428 xwOBA, 34% whiff rate, 18% BB-rate, 26% K-rate, 44% hard hit hate, 15% barrel rate Expected slash line vs RHP - .211/.300/.392, .304 xwOBA, 44% whiff rate, 46% hard hit rate, 13% barrel rate, 10% BB-rate, 40% K-rate
  7. Juan Baez is back in true form. Just made an out on the bases. Glad to see him healthy and back to full strength haha.
  8. I agree on the Payne part. I think he's a bit underrated and I think some of the scouting reports seem dated on him specifically the ones that call him a slash and dash hitter. The recent videos I have seen of Payne seem like his swing is far more than slash and dash. Plus he's super young for the draft. There were quite a few 1st HS 1st round picks this year that were over a year older than him. Bitonti for example would have been the 4th or 5th (can't remember) youngest HS player drafted through the comp A round if he was in this year's draft and he's now in A-ball. Pratt is 4 days away from being 2 whole years older than Payne and he was drafted last season.
  9. Someone on BCB says Callis said on the MiLB podcast that the Brewers offered 3x slot value to Levonas and he still didn't sign. If that's true then it seems to be they desperately wanted to sign Levonas.
  10. Yeah meant does not. I think the talent of last years draft certainly helps, but also the draft was widely panned even at the time as being an incredibly successful draft even before we signed way more round 11-20 guys than anyone thought was realistic. Like Wilken, Knoth, Boeve, Pratt, Bitonti were all pretty universally rated as Top 100 draft prospects and we signed all 5 and in addition to those 5 we signed a JUCO and 5 additional HS.
  11. While this is true this draft class definitely does seem an instant success like last years did at this point. Seems like Brewers tried to replicate last years strategy and were not nearly as successful at the execution as they were last season.
  12. Callis making it sound like we are done and didn't spend any of our 5% overage
  13. No Wech. He's headed to college. So Malamazian and Brummel are the only options.
  14. With Smith signed that leaves $585,580 left in bonus pool money. We have heard zero rumors of the others signing, so I guess we wait and see. Nunnallee is surely off the board now, but maybe Wech, Brummel, or Malamazian sign.
  15. So you no longer think 7-8 are signing?
  16. Enough for 1 more big one $1M-ish or two smaller ones
  17. $898,080 of bonus pool left after the Renz signing.
  18. Yeah I imagine most players that age that are putting up EV like that are making significantly less contact overall. Made seems like a star in the making. Really hoping he pans out!
  19. With the rumored Renz and Smith signings, it begins difficult to think about how they could spin Nunnallee. Hopefully they get one of Wech/Brummel and Malamazian and if they aren't signing Nunnallee.
  20. If those numbers are true then that leaves $1,600,580 left in bonus pool money
  21. 2 hours until the deadline. Wonder when we are going to start getting some of these signing announcements.
  22. Correct and has been said before, Levonas not signing would be a net gain on money for the rest of the pool as he would have been well over slot.
  23. Both of the DSL games have entered into a delay. Typically I feel like this ends up in a postponement.
