  1. I've definitely been talking myself into a potential DW trade this offseason. I love him. He's my favorite RP the Brewers have ever had, but he's a RP. If Brewers can get something valuable for him then absolutely go for it. Like you said we have done an amazing job building bullpens.
  2. Brewers have overperformed their Pythagorean by 5 total games over the last 3 years. That’s really nothing special.
  3. Okay so he said Mets could offer a 5 year $30M deal? I mean the Brewers could very easily match that if they wanted to keep Counsell.
  4. What is "a ways in"? Can you just give a timestamp?

  6. This is so incredibly wrong. Brewers have dipped millions of dollars into player development. They were one of the first teams to spend a boatload of money on a pitching lab.
  7. I think you’re right. Either way our Brewers guys have been up to the task so far.
  8. This was his exact quote, "When I was executing pitches the first couple of innings, we got quick outs, and a lot of ground balls, some strikeouts. Then when I stopped executing pitches, they didn't miss."
  9. Yeah it all comes down to Burnes. Look at the other scores tonight. 4-0 3-1 4-1 In all of those games the team that won got an early lead and their ace delivered them 5.2+ innings and the win. Our "ace" gave up 3 HR and was an Abner Uribe shut down inning away from giving up 6 ER in 4 innings. Burnes is just an incredibly frustrating player to watch and root for. He's immensely talented. Some of the best raw stuff in the league but he just gets in his own way in my opinion. His post game comments pissed me off so much. He said he was getting quick outs when he was executing in the first 2 innings...like what?? He needed 36 pitches to get through 2 innings face 7 batters. That's 5.14 pitches per PA. Brewers hitters led the MLB in pitches per PA at 4.02 this season. So Burnes was 1.12 pitches per PA above the best number in the MLB and he was talking about getting quick outs? Just so damn annoying.
  10. Surprise lose again tonight but the 3 Brewers to play all played alright. EBJ - 1-4 Mendez - 1-3 2B Shane Smith - 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO, 19 pitches, 15 strikes Smith struck out Kyle Manzardo on 4 pitches which was cool to see.
  11. Does Rowdy have power? Dude has 3 XBH since coming off the IL and 2 of them were in August. In September he had 1 double, a 34 wRC+, a .216 SLG, and a 31% K-rate. Rowdy just sucks now. Winker over him makes plenty of sense when you consider Rowdy isn't hitting for power or getting on base anymore.
  12. Clarke and EBJ off to nice starts. Clarke - 2-3 HR, 3 RBI, 2 R EBJ - 2-3 3B, 2 RBI, R
  13. Dbacks in 3 after the Woodruff news.
  14. This is the same team that said Woodruff's original IL stint would be a minimum IL stint and that turned into missing 4 months. Not to mention Ashby was having shoulder issues in January and didn't end up having surgery until close to the start of the season if I recall correctly. Hogg said Woodruff is getting a second opinion this week. Usually you don't get second opinions for minor injuries.
  15. If this is the same injury as earlier this year, you have to think he might have surgery right? If that's the case, we might not even see a 100% Woodruff in 2024 as shoulder surgeries are just absolutely devastating for pitchers. I'm just major dooming on this one.
  16. Would need to be an insanely team friendly contract. Woodruff turns 31 this offseason and has now injured his pitching shoulder 2 times during one season.
  17. This is absolutely devastating. Pretty much totally ruins the Brewers shot at making a deep playoff run. With such awful news like this hitting the team right before the playoffs, it wouldn't shock me if we lost in the WC round.
  18. Seems like it's not a very common jump. Who are examples of guys that went from MLB hitting coach to manager and were successful?
  19. Counsell was being groomed for a manager role with his position in the front office (should note it's the same position that Carlos Villanueva currently holds). Hitting coach and manager are vastly different roles. If the idea behind Seitzer is strictly trying to emulate the Braves hitting development then just poach someone from the Braves FO/development team.
  20. I don't get the infatuation with Seitzer as a manager candidate. He's literally never been a manger in his coaching career. He's only been a hitting coach. Sure he's been a great hitting coach, but what am I missing? Chris Hook is a great pitching coach is he someone we should consider for manager?
  21. None of Burnes, Woodruff, or Adames are free agents this offseason so pretty wild that they will all be gone.
  22. Diamondbacks have the tiebreaker
  23. If Marlins win the Cubs are eliminated
