  1. Shuckers Twitter account is only reporting Chourio, Meeker, and Myers as being promoted to AAA. Did Carlos Rodriguez not get promoted? https://x.com/biloxishuckers/status/1704247388582346785?s=46&t=WxiRs1N9LlZMKe6c0VtAlQ
  2. I don't think Hader would have ever made a great starter and I think the Strider comp is ridiculous. Strider has better physical build, holds FB velo better, has better command, and his slider is actually good. Hader's slider was effective because everyone was just so locked into his FB not because his slider was actually good. Even today his slider still isn't a very good pitch because he can't consistently locate it. Just look at the difference between Strider's slider heat map this year (on left) and Hader's slider heat map this year (on right)
  3. Bummer. Such intriguing stuff but could never put the command together. He had a 72.7% GB-rate this year with a 22.7% K-rate. That's a combo for a really good middle reliever but a 17% BB-rate and 5.3% HBP rate is just out of control. Can't be putting 22% of your batters faced on base for free.
  4. That happened against the Giants. The 18-1 game is the game where Varland gave up 9 runs in 0.2 innings when it was already 8-1
  5. 20-24 isn't the Cardinals owning the Brewers either. But I get it, doom and gloom is required in the game threads even when facing a bad team.
  6. Do you seriously think the Brewers would give Black, a rookie with at most roughly 10 of games MLB experience at that point, a big role in the playoffs? The likelihood the Brewers burn a 40 man spot so Black can sit on the bench in the playoffs is very, very slim.
  7. Since 2017 when the Brewers came out of their rebuild, they are 56-55 vs the Cardinals. They have totally owned us recently!
  8. Seems pretty unlikely they will burn a 40-man spot for this offseason that doesn't need to be burned for 10 MLB games.
  9. Our magic number over the Reds is 5 because we own the tiebreaker. If Brewers finish 4-9, Reds would need to finish 11-0. Point being the Reds are not a concern.
  10. I think there is less than a 1% chance the Brewers line up their rotation to have Miley pitch in the WC series. Keep the Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta order and win in 2 games so Peralta can pitch game 1 of the NLDS.
  11. I don’t know if it’s guaranteed but seems like Carlos F Rodriguez (SP) is getting promoted to Nashville for this final week judging by his Instagram.
  12. Well that's a nice added bonus.
  13. Isn't it 3 weeks? Turang was down 23 days and there are only 15 days left in the MLB season.
  14. Yeah definitely was to say to sit Megill down and get Milner back up.
  15. I'm quite frankly shocked they used Ernesto Martinez as a pinch runner and didn't use him to pinch hit for Kahle...Clarke was at DH. Just eat the DH and move him to catcher. Just disappointed the season ended with Kahle a guy who has barely played all season at the plate.
  16. Isaac Collins with a leadoff HR for Biloxi. Up 1-0 in the bottom of the first!
  17. Burnes threw so many meatballs that day. Threw a cutter right down the middle to Maldonado that he hit out. Threw a hanging slider right down the middle to Dubon that he hit out. Threw a 93 mph cutter at the bottom of the zone but center of the plate to Alvarez that he hit out. Contreras wanted the backdoor cutter and Burnes drifted it over the center of the plate.
  18. I just looked it up. The last time Contreras caught Burnes was May 22nd against the Astros. Burnes gave up 4 HR in that game.
  19. Luis Arraez on a bit of a power surge. He had 1 HR in the series against us, but also a near HR on a fly ball, a double off the wall in CF, and 2 warning track fly outs to RF in our series. In the first 13 innings of the Marlins-Braves series he has 3 HR.
  20. Yeah the reality of the situation is Contreras, Canha, and Tyrone have been the Brewers 3 best hitters since the ASB. If Contreras is at DH it forces one of Canha/Taylor to the bench and that would likely be Tyrone. So you have worse offense and defense if Caratini is behind home plate and the margins in the playoffs will matter especially to a team like us. I don't know if we will actually get Contreras catching Burnes in the playoffs, but I am glad we are at least giving it a try while we have such a solid lead in the division and playoff race.
  21. Well I imagine they are trying to see if Contreras can catch Burnes in the playoffs. I talked about it at the end of the game thread yesterday. During the regular season it doesn't really matter but come the playoffs when Burnes is pitching 25+% of our games, it becomes a bit problematic to have to include Caratini in the lineup especially with how he's hit the last 2 months.
  22. WOAH. Conteras is catching Burnes today. Don't think that has happened since late April/early May
  23. If we do win the WC, I will be very thankful to face the Dodgers and not the Braves. Dodgers are a great team but the Braves are just in a different class in my opinion.
  24. Mitchell is both a better baserunner and faster human? Wiemer isn't anything special running the bases. These are their MLB SB/CS numbers and BsR numbers. Mitchell - 44 G, 130 PA, 9 SB to 0 CS, 3.0 BsR Wiemer - 131 G, 410 PA, 11 SB to 4 CS, 0.7 BsR Mitchell is significantly better.
  25. He swung 10 times and whiffed 6 times. He hasn't played in games in months so that's not surprising, but he only has 8 games left at AAA to rehab. There's no way he gets the bat up to speed after missing almost 6 months of baseball.
