  1. Would be shocking if he isn't. He's just forgotten how to pitch. That or there's some injury that they haven't been able to detect
  2. That's very likely why the call stood. If it was safe on the field it would have stood as well. Just no way to tell if Wicks back/middle of his foot touched the bag because it was blocked in the dugout view by Contreras foot.
  3. Boushley and Andrews are both likely optioned for Lauer and Megill coming off the restricted list
  4. Not eligible to come off the IL until the Monday after the season ends so won’t be pitching in this series. He’s been throwing bullpens. They said on the broadcast yesterday he threw a simulated inning before the game.
  5. That feels way too high. They need the Marlins to lose their final 2 games and then lose the 9th inning Monday game to the Mets that they are winning 2-1 and the Cubs would need to win their final 2 games. Magic number of 5 with 2 games left does not feel like 4% odds.
  6. What a moment for Boushley. He pitched so well. Absolutely deserved to finish that game with a positive outcome. Seeing how excited the team got for him was awesome. Vibes are in a great place after a win like today heading into the playoffs.
  7. Frelick's in a pretty nasty slump at the plate right now. Really need him or Mitchell to show up or CF becomes a big question mark for the playoffs.
  8. Yeah. He probably gets optioned back to AAA after today. Him Boushley, Andrews likely all pitch today and then Lauer, Megill, and some other AAA pitcher will be up tomorrow.
  9. Teheran isn't injured. He just got DFA'd so the Brewers can keep the actual pitchers who will pitch in the playoffs fresh this last weekend. That's literally what Counsell said.
  10. Can't tell if the Cubs hitters are just bad or if Rea's stuff is better than normal today, but he's dicing them up through 2 innings.
  11. WC3 spot coming down to the final game of the season would be great for the Brewers. Burn those good relievers and starters this weekend!
  12. If Teheran was hurt why did he pitch 4 innings yesterday?
  13. Well he was healthy and they just DFA'd him.....
  14. You're saying the only reason Teheran wouldn't have made the postseason roster was due to him being injured?
  15. Feels very data manipulate-y to purposefully cut off the date that makes our guys looks better and Candelario look worse. Just use the total numbers. Canha - 196 PA, 124 wRC+, 1.0 fWAR Santana - 214 PA, 100 wRC+, 0.5 fWAR Donaldson - 57 PA, 111 wRC+, 0.0 fWAR Candelario - 144 PA, 102 wRC+, 0.1 fWAR Don't even need the data manipulation to make it look good for the Brewers
  16. The dreaded eye test tells me Perkins is the best OF the Brewers have. He’s almost as athletic as Mitchell (possibly even) and more athletic than Wiemer and Frelick in terms of speed and Perkins just looks so incredibly smooth in the OF. He reminds me so much of Lo-Cain out there. Makes everything look so much easier than it should be. I really love watching him play CF defense.
  17. Caleb Boushley was seen in the clubhouse so seems the rumors of him debuting this weekend are true. I imagine he might be the starter on Saturday
  18. I love that the Cardinals lost this game after intentionally walking Contreras to get to Tyrone. You'd think a team mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and nothing to play for would let their young LHP face a tough RHH in a tough spot especially if the plan for said LHP is still to be a SP in the MLB. Can't just avoid good RHH as a SP.
  19. Tobias Myers is very intriguing, and I could deifnitely see giving him a 40-man spot. In his first AAA outing he threw 15 FB and had an IVB of 19.9 inches on those 15 FB. That's elite IVB. If he could touch 96-97 in a bullpen role there's potential for a good RP there with a FB with that IVB
  20. The way I see it is yeah Uribe only has about 30 innings but a RP averages what 60-65 IP over the course of a season? By the end of the year he will probably end up at about half of a RP season's worth of IP. A normal position player might have 550 PA in a season. Frelick (210 PA) and Mitchell (130 PA) are further away from 50% of a position player's season than Uribe is from a RP's season so why are they not still considered prospects?
  21. Yeah I'm not putting Uribe in my list. He's no longer considered a prospect according to the MLB, so no sense in keeping him on the list.
  22. I don't believe baseball savant's baserunning number has anything to do with steals. I think it's just down to taking extra bases on balls in play. Fangraphs BsR takes into consideration both SB success and taking extra base success and Acuna's BsR is 6.3 which is 14th in the MLB. That seems to back up Savant viewing his as an average baserunner because Acuna leads the MLB in SB yet is 14th in BsR.
  23. I wonder if we will be sending like 8 players to that same Aussie team this year.
