    Cubs biggest contract ever given out was $184M. Color me a non-believer that they will sign Burnes in FA when he'll get significantly more than that. No clue why people are acting like the Ricketts are Cohen and will just spend unlimited money in FA.

    Worst thing about Counsell going to the Cubs is it has made the inferiority complex some fans have with the Cubs totally out of control. Just because Counsell went to the Cubs doesn't mean every ex-Brewer is heading there as well.

    What is Woodruff's incentive to accept a deal like that before he becomes a FA?

    It also appears that nobody was willing to do it otherwise the Brewers would have traded Woodruff to whatever team was willing to tender him. That means this wasn't just a Brewers thing.

    I mean when you trade a top 30 prospect for a guy with 0 options it seems pretty clear that said player will be a part of the 26 man roster to open next season.

    In 1364 career innings at 1B he has -2 DRS, 2.3 UZR/150, and -3 OAA. Better than Rowdy but overall pretty average over there.

    The more I think about it, the less I understand it. Why didn't we just add Hiura to the 40-man roster before he declared minor league FA instead of trading for Bauers??

    I'm pretty perplexed on this one. Bauers' had solid underlying numbers last year but has not been good in his MLB career. Brewers must have been lower on Avina than I would have imagined.

    Also did you think you could just straight up lie and get away with it? This is the only part where Burnes is mentioned. Where does it mention Morel as the centerpiece in a potential Burnes trade? Oh wait Morel was mentioned as the centerpiece of a Pete Alonso trade earlier in the article…do you think we are just stupid and you can lie straight to our faces and we will believe it?

    This is what someone from baseball prospectus has to say about Jesse Rogers being a mouthpiece for Jed Hoyer. Trueblood as a Cubs fan should know better. It’s insulting to post on a Brewers board that Morel could be the centerpiece of a Burnes trade.

    Dunn has flashed legit power so I don't think he's really comparable to Collins. I very much doubt Brewers make this trade for a guy with Collins offensive profile.

    I didn’t want him either way but heck no now. Torn ACL, MCL, hamstring all at once is crazy. Hard to imagine he’s back to pre injury form at all in 2024.
