  1. Chourio hits a hard liner (97 EV) to RF but it unfortunately didn’t find the gap. Nice swing from him.
  2. In his last 102 PA he has struck out 47 times. Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone slump this hard for this long. Doesn’t even look like the same guy from earlier this year.
  3. Both of Uribe’s pitches were entirely in the strike zone. Payamps just grazed the edge. Payamps pitch had been called a ball multiple times earlier in the game. In the 5th inning Soler was rung up on a clear ball 4 with 0 outs. Bell had a single in the next AB. Would have likely been 1st and 3rd with 0 outs and the Marlins up 4-0.
  4. The ump blew the call, but the ump was blowing calls all day. At least a few Marlins players were rung up on ball 4. It was a horrible ump performance. Who knows if the game is even 4-4 going into the bottom of the 8th if the ump had accurately called the game.
  5. I'd bet my lunch money that Mitchell makes the playoff roster. You're going to be carrying 14 or 15 position players in the WC and NLDS. Having Mitchell on the bench as a pinch runner makes a ton of sense. Perkins can stay as well.
  6. Caminero is Rule 5 eligible this offseason so not exactly the same situation as Black or Chourio.
  7. Yeah we play both the Marlins and the Cubs so winning against them would just help the Padres. Definitely rooting for the Reds although Hunter Greene looked dominant in his last outing.
  8. Yeah which has happened in the last week. Can it happen for another week? Padres sneaking in would be worst case scenario imo as they clearly have more talent than any potential team we would face in the WC round
  9. So Padres have won 7 in a row and have a pretty easy schedule to finish the season (vs Cards, @ Giants, @ White Sox). If Cubs hold on to lose the Padres would only be 4 games back of the WC3 spot. Could they potentially make this late season run?
  10. Very likely just a day off. He had last Thursday off as well.
  11. AAA has ABS for ball/strikes so no squeezing. He just wasn’t throwing strikes.
  12. Ashby with another rough rehab assignment. He got 2 outs on 26 pitches with 4 BB. Only 6 pitches were in the strike zone. Boushley gave up a grand slam after Ashby was pulled so Nashville is down 5-0 in the 1st. Ashby’s final line: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 0 SO. It’s been a very rough rehab assignment for him. 6 IP, 6 H, 12 R, 11 ER, 11 BB, 6 SO, 1 HBP. Honestly at this point I don’t think we should have any expectations for him in 2024. He has a long road ahead of him still to get back to being an MLB caliber pitcher.
  13. Correct. Magic number is 2 over the Marlins so a win over them would guarantee us to finish no worse than 6th in the NL.
  14. NOOOO...hopefully Sibrian will come back as a coach of some form.
  15. Looks like the Sounds get to face Alcantara tonight. Can't wait to see how Chourio fares against him.
  16. Wiemer seems like he's already totally chilled out his bat dip in just his second game in AAA. Just night and day difference.
  17. You have to copy the link at the top of the browser. It only auto embeds if the link comes from twitter.com not x.com.
  18. We got Bukauskas for cash I believe that or we just got him on waivers. He did come from Seattle though so you have that right.
  19. Was coming here to say the same thing. That sinker was looking like a mid 90's changeup it was moving so much.
  20. 15 day minimum IL stint for pitchers, so earliest he could be activated is October 2nd.
  21. Minimum IL stint would have Elvis eligible to pitch in the wild card round. Have to hope this is just precautionary and he will be good to go for the playoffs.
  22. 100%. You could get rid of 25-50% of the parking and still have plenty of parking left for tailgate culture to remain
  23. Mitchell hit a 107 EV liner for an out at least according to baseball savant that is what happened.
  24. I guess Myers could potentially be a RP for Nashville which is why he was immediately activated while Rodriguez might not be activated until he’s set to start a game.
