  1. No Knoth is hilarious. He’s literally the one pitcher who could actually rocket up prospect lists and he’s not even mentioned. Birchard should have been mentioned as well.
  2. There’s a 0% chance of the Orioles making that trade. Brewers would absolutely do that trade. Giving up 1 year of Burnes and 2 years of Williams for 7 years of Holiday the #1 prospect in baseball would be an absolute home run by the Brewers.
  3. Just the money I believe.
  4. The NBA introduced an in season tournament and so far it’s seemed like a massive success. What are your thoughts on the MLB introducing an in season tournament? I don’t know what the format would be but the MLB season is very long so introducing a tournament could be a great way to keep fans interested during the long season. In the NBA all in season tournament games count towards regular season records except for the championship game which is an extra game, so this wouldn’t add games. NBA prize is $500K per player.
  5. I do mostly agree with this
  6. Yeah he went from $10M to $1M buyout, $7M base, $1.5M buyout, so $9.5M plus potential incentives.
  7. Yeah no clue how I forgot that one.
  8. Just because you think it's a blip doesn't mean you can just outright ignore it and extrapolate the AAA numbers as if they were full season numbers.
  9. Yeah seems like a Burnes trade is inevitable, but honestly think a RP trade might be coming as well. Maybe that's Williams maybe someone else.
  10. What is Arnold cooking? We currently have a pretty set 13 pitchers if Ross's deal is an MLB deal. SP - Burnes, Peralta, Miley, Houser, Rea Swingman - Ross BP - Wilson, Megill, Peguero, Milner, Uribe, Payamps, Williams Of those 13, Megill, Peguero, Milner and Williams are the only 4 who can be optioned. Milner and Williams are too good to be optioned so it leaves you with 2 pitchers with options of the 13. Feels like there has to be some trades lined up going forward. Especially when you consider where do Gasser and Ashby fit in this.
  11. The whole reason his prospect status exploded this year was because he started elevating the ball which is why it's funny Matthew didn't even mention the larger AA sample where he was elevating the ball and just said he still smashed the ball on the ground because of a 2 month sample in AAA where he was downright awful in the first month. He had a negative LA at the end of August if I remember correctly.
  12. I hope this is a split contract not an MLB contract. Feels like it could be a Jose Urena type deal if it is a normal MLB contract.
  13. I mean Black was listed as 6'2 when he was drafted and was listed at 6' and 6'1 until last season where it was moved to 5'10. We've posted pictures of him standing next to people who were 6' and he's the same height as them.
  14. In a very small AAA sample yes he did although that was largely from like a 65% GB rate in his first month in AAA. In AA he had a 37% GB-rate and 43% FB-rate with a 41% pull rate which is pretty comparable to Bellinger's 2023 of 36% GB-rate, 43% FB-rate, 44% pull rate.
  15. Some of these inclusions are very odd. Satchell Norman is 21 years old and has yet to play full season ball. He's also an absolute butcher behind the plate. What about a 21 year old putting up a good offensive season in the ACL screams rocket through ths system prospect? Demetrio Nadal was a 19 year old repeat DSL player. He was about a year older than the average position player in the league. Yes he had a fantastic season but as an overage DSL repeater that's what you would expect from someone who was an above average hitter in the DSL a year earlier.
  16. I mean what's the point of publicly guaranteeing a currently 19 year old as your CF? Yes he very likely will be the starting CF because there's zero incentive to start him in AAA, but if he is awful in ST then you've put yourself in a tough spot if you already publicly guaranteed him as starting CF.
  17. 1. Chourio played almost all year in AA and the first half of the year had enhanced grip baseballs that made pitchers stuff nastier. 2. Every player starts with 3 options when they are put on the 40-man roster. Just because Chourio signed a contract doesn't mean he couldn't be optioned.
  18. Because teams look at more than just stats when it comes to evaluating minor league players.
  19. 14 of the 26 players have less than 1.5 seasons of service time. I feel like thst constitutes a youth movement when over half your players are rookies or second year players.
  20. If you’re going full retool/youth movement like your plan suggests, I just don’t see the sense to trade 3 good value prospects/young players for a guy who doesn’t fit the rest of the team’s timeline. Would make more sense to use those assets to get someone who fits the rest of the core’s timeline.
  21. I don’t understand the thought process of trading for Arozarena if we are trading all 3 of Burnes, Adames and Williams. That’s not a good pitching staff. The bullpen would be asked to eat a TON of innings with that pitching staff.
  22. It's hardly bold to say the Brewers won't sign the best 3B and best 1B on the FA market...
  23. Luis Severino to the Mets. 1/$13M with $2M in potential bonuses.
