  1. Burnes has a 4.34 ERA in 97.1 IP since the All-Star break last season. That's a pretty large sample size of him being a below average SP.
  2. Some people are just impossible to please.
  3. I've started to notice how long college football games feel the last few years.
  4. I would be pleased with anything above .500. That's a tough 10 game roadtrip. Let's say 5-5 on the roadtrip and 8-5 at home. So 13-10 for me as well.
  5. I always get a chuckle when extreme pessimists call themselves realists lol
  6. Caratini also has smashed Scherzer in his career. 1.200 OPS in 15 PA vs Scherzer with only 2 SO.
  7. Talking to the person who tweeted those. Seems like the expected chase and run value numbers are based on stuff+, location+ and pitching+. Turang hasn't faced great stuff but the location he has faced has been very good which is why his expected chase% has been so high. The location being so good is also why the expected run value is low because the pitching+ is good despite the stuff+ being poor.
  8. I'm guessing it is calculated by location/type of pitch. Basically this is saying that Turang has laid off some really good pitches which imo definitely passes what I the eye test has said.
  9. Turang also fairs very well when adjusting for quality of the pitcher.
  10. Brice Turang leads the MLB in adjusted chase % at the moment.
  11. You can't make a comment like this after pushing back on people saying Turang should take Yelich's place in the order!
  12. The thing that I have loved about Turang's start is that he's doing everything well that he did in AAA. He's not chasing (97th percentile chase rate), he's running the bases extremely well (96th percentile sprint speed...this was news to me. Did not know he had that type of speed), and he's playing great defense. If he continues to do these 3 things well it leaves him with a super high floor.
  13. Thanks for everything you do!
  14. That's a bummer. Hopefully he heals up and can get back to playing baseball again. Would hate for a guy's career to end to something like this. Any chance you have any information on Logan Henderson?
  15. That was a nasty breaking ball to get Vogey by Bryse there.
  16. Was going to say this. Mitchell had really good numbers last year, but how he was doing it did not feel sustainable. Obviously Turang can't sustain this level, but he has shown incredible plate discipline and bat to ball so far that Mitchell hasn't. Makes his hot start feel much more real.
  17. Lindor did a good job keeping the glove on Yelich to make him think he had the ball.
  18. Rowdy has been so frustrating this season. Chasing way too much so far.
  19. It has kind of always been his thing. Outside of 2020, he never has had a strikeout rate above 19% and before last season his career BA was .288
  20. Turang with a fantastic PA. Chased that first changeup but then laid off the next two. Immediately follows it up with a steal as well.
  21. Adames probably wishes he had that one back. 85 mph slider right down the middle.
  22. Yelich really struggling to lay off the low changeups to start the year.
