  1. Brewers end July going 17-7! Nobody guessed it right but @ErnieRilesBrianGiles and @crossface2311 were tied for the closest with their 15-9 guesses!
  2. It was basically a proxy for saying not trading your best prospects. Sorry you somehow missed that.
  3. The 18 games in 17 day stretch to end August scares me and Chourio likely being on the Il for the first half of the month also scares me. I think I'm going 16-14.
  4. Here's the schedule for August, how do you all think the Brewers will do? 3 @ WSH 3 @ ATL 3 vs NYM 3 vs PIT 3 @ CIN 5 @ CHC 3 vs SF 4 vs AZ 3 @ TOR
  5. I certainly am not advocating for the Brewers to do what Preller has done in San Diego. I think that guy is a maniac, but Preller's FO seems to be pretty elite at scouting/developing and replenish their farm system very well every year before doing these huge trades every year. I think the Brewers have pretty good scouting and developmental systems in place, so I think the Brewers could certainly be a bit more aggressive at the deadline trading prospects in the 10-30 range and then replace them through the draft and IFA without really skipping a beat. I'm certainly not advocating for trading off our best prospects but it does seem like Arnold and the FO are a bit on the conservative side.
  6. Burke's slump started around July 20th. Dinges was injured on June 29th. 6/30 to 7/19 - 117 wRC+ 7/20 to 7/30 - 8 wRC+
  7. Pretty underwhelming deadline from the Brewers. Miller is a solid add especially for what appears to be little cost but trading for a pitcher who has dealt with forearm issues is just playing with fire. The Cortes trade was bizarre. Not that the Brewers traded him but that the Brewers traded him and a pretty interesting 18 year old for what appears to be a pinch runner. Coming out of the deadline where you're one injury away from a Seigler/Monasterio platoon starting in the infield is not good. Brewers depth 2B/3B/SS depth is extremely weak. Brewers have a real chance to finish with a Top 2 seed and a bye this year and not improving the roster is pretty underwhelming.
  8. D. Miller is a solid add though trading for a pitcher dealing with forearm issues isn't very safe. Jansen was a fine upgrade at backup C. Trading Cortes and Quintana for Lockridge is bizarre. Maybe Brewers see something in Lockridge but I don't. Ultimately they get a D for not doing anything to improve the infield depth behind Ortiz (Brewers are one injury away from a Seigler/Monasterio platoon in the infield) and for not getting a LHH to add some pop on the bench. Yes I know Bauers will eventually be back but he's not good.
  9. They must really like Lockridge then as it's basically just a Quintana for Lockridge trade
  10. Kim is not subject to the 6 years of service time to be a FA because he came over as a pro not a prospect. He was a FA last offseason and signed with Tampa
  11. Rodriguez just has not looked healthy since he came off the IL. Velo way down and 20 grade command.
  12. Small was a highly ranked prospect for the Brewers when the Brewers had a very weak farm system. That's not the same as being a highly ranked prospect when the Brewers have a strong farm system like they currently do. Ethan Small was certainly never pushing to be a Top 100 prospect like Henderson currently is.
  13. Might go down as the best first post in this site's history! What a find!
  14. This doesn't make much sense for the Brewers. Taking Collins out of the lineup does not make the Brewers better. Kwan's defense would also take a dip in Milwaukee because so much of his defensive value comes from how well he plays the big LF wall in Cleveland to use his arm as a weapon.
  15. Are you sure you have to stay in AAA all year? I thought you just had to be on the AAA roster in the offseason
  16. Yoho had completely lost his release point. He threw a combined 1 pitch in the strike zone to Busch and Tucker with most of the pitches missing up and arm side because his arm was late.
  17. I've soured a lot on Yoho this year though not necessarily because of how poor he has pitched in the big leagues. Devin Williams blowing the series last year really has made me quite velo-pilled when it comes to leverage relievers. I just think Yoho ultimately ends up as a Milner/Anderson style middle reliever who relies on being very unique rather than with sheer overpowering stuff.
  18. Knew it wouldn't be long for one of the human ump defenders to defend that terrible call. It was a clear strike.
  19. I still can't believe there are Brewers fans in here who defend human ball/strike umping. That inning was dramatically changed because of 2 huge misses that went against the Brewers
  20. And Tristan Peters is 25 years old repeating AAA still yet to make his MLB debut. This level of prospect has a pretty low likelihood of panning out.
  21. Eric Haase DFA would be my guess
  22. I’m good with this even if Areinamo wasn’t pretty much completely blocked by better prospects the level below and above him, I just don’t buy that his swing is going to work at the MLB level.
  23. Both Parker and Coil were college juniors not seniors
