    He's fine. It was because it was a tie game in the 8th and they wanted a better baserunner. Not a bad looking HBP at all. Breaking ball that slipped out of the pitchers hand and caught him in the back of the elbow/slide.

    The Marlins were in a fire sale when they traded Yelich. The Angels aren't in a fire sale. The Angels are so anti-fire sale that instead of trading Ohtani for a massive haul when he was 2 months from FA they held onto him and lost him for a comp pick.

    Sure in fantasy land where the Brewers would trade 5 Top 100 prospects they could get him but it's silly to even pretend that's realistic. The Angels aren't trading 4.5 years of their homegrown star SS.

    That's not even close to enough for 4.5 years of Otto Lopez. Miami laughs you off the phone if you try to get him for two back half Top 30 prospects.

    Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't but both Rylan Mills and Cooper Underwood are following Malachai Halterman on instagram. Halterman was a HS UDFA signing .

    Looks like the Brewers re-signed Bruce Zimmerman to a minor league contract after he opted out earlier this week. Maybe he didn't have suitors? Or maybe he got a bit more money on his deal?

    Wow I tuned out of the game thread during the middle of the game. Missed that doozy of a comment. I genuinely can’t imagine how a fan of a team watches a guy pitch like that and suggests trading the pitcher. Also when exactly was the time to sell high on Wiemer? His value peaked before he made his MLB debut as he never looked good outside of his defense during his MLB time.

    3.95 though I think with the Brewers defense and him being such a good ground ball pitcher that you can expect FIP over-performance. I think after tonight his xERA which factors in contact quality will be around 3.50

    I'm absolutely shocked that AI got it completely wrong. It's happened at least 1 time this year. Broadcast said they've had the side struck out in the 1st 4 times this year though those might not all be with Ohtani-Betts-Freeman. Cease did it earlier this year.     You realize what you're citing already starts him as a negative because he's mostly playing 1B and DH which have negative positional adjustments? Vlad Jr has 5 DRS which is 3rd most in MLB for 1B this year but he has 0.0 dWAR because of 1B negative positional adjustment. Yelich has -1.0 dWAR this year despite playing just 76 innings in the field because DH has a negative positional adjustment. Matt Olson is tied for 3rd in MLB in DRS with 14 but is 31st in dWAR because of the negative positional adjustment.
