  1. Murphy not pinch hitting Frelick for Vaughn against Holderman this time?
  2. I don't agree with that assessment. How it was lined up Kuhnel got the middle of the order and Anderson would have had the bottom of the order.
  3. That doesn't mean he should just automatically be moved ahead of Anderson who has been very good at his job. You should have to earn your roles. Also that nastiness does not appear sustainable. His velo has dropped every time he's pitched since Vegas getting closer to his season average.
  4. I really don't understand why he's surpassed Anderson on the RP depth chart
  5. It's unfortunately not just been a Chourio thing. Mitchell had the same thing happen as well. Brewers OF defense has regressed quite a bit since Berry left for the Cubs.
  6. I'm just going to say his leg was tightening up and that's why he looked bad in the 4th inning.
  7. Trevor May was recently talking about a stat he made up that he thinks is a good indicator for how good a team is. Basically he was measuring how a team responds to scoring/giving up a run. If you score a run in one half inning, does your pitching staff put up a 0 in response. Then vice versa as well if you give up a run does your offense respond? Anyway he said the Brewers lead in this stat and did last year as well. Feel like it certainly backs up the eye test. Feel like the Brewers are really good at controlling momentum.
  8. Pretty much a total butt kicking outside of a 5 batter stretch in the 4th inning
  9. Him not scoring on Pratt's hit isn't surprising. He had to hold to make sure it went over the 1B head
  10. That's a mistake a player like Perkins cannot afford to be making
  11. He was warming up earlier so feel like he's healthy
  12. Ashby going today for the 3rd time in 4 days with 27 and 23 pitches in those outings and an up-down in both of them as well. They need to get Murphy another LHP in the pen he can trust because you can't use guys like this.
  13. So later in the game when they bring in a LHP for that pocket of the order you have Vaughn to hit for Frelick. This is a good change.
  14. I don't think it's as big of a deal because Frelick's defense in RF has been pretty lackluster this year. I unfortunately don't think it's much of a dropoff defensively going from this current version of Sal defensively to Bauers. Like Sal's arm just straight up sucks now. His arm strength and max throw are both down 3mph this year. DRS and FRV both view his arm as negative value on the season.
  15. Why does Vaughn need to play everyday? He's clearly still feeling the side effects of his injury against RHP because his bat speed is still down 3mph against RHP.
  16. He's already seeing his playing time get cut. Since the start of the last road trip (10 games), Sal has started 5 games. Him splitting reps against RHP with Vaughn is completely reasonable considering they are hitting RHP at basically the same level.
  17. Frelick - .258/.339/.342 for a .307 wOBA Vaughn - .266/.329/.344 for a .305 wOBA So basically identical production wise against RHP this year. Expected numbers are pretty comparable as well. I do like that they put Frelick ahead of Mitchell though. Now when Cleveland brings in a LHP for that pocket of LHH they can pinch hit Vaughn for Frelick instead of Mitchell which is what they were going earlier this season.
  18. I also don’t understand why he’s being used as a defensive sub. If you’re doing the defensive sub thing, it should definitely be Perkins coming in. I don’t know if Frelick is playing through an injury or what but he’s fallen off hard defensively this year and his arm is worse. Thought he had another pretty weak throw on the run tonight
  19. Murphy’s logic was very bizarre. Basically his gut and Sal being clutch this year but Sal has a 52 wRC+ in high leverage situations on the season.
  20. Megill’s stuff isn’t the best it’s been in his Brewers career but he’s pitching better than he ever has. Just immaculate command right now
  21. William gunshy on the challenges again today. Gasser down 2-0 there on two strikes
  22. Gasser does not appear to have his command today
