  1. Vaughn actually has a better xwOBA than Hoskins this year and that was before tonight where it will be going up again. He was just one of the unluckiest hitters in MLB this year when he was on the Sox
  2. But why Quintana? They aren't going to take Gausman, Berrios, Bassitt, or Scherzer out of their rotation. That leaves Lauer but Lauer has been better than Quintana this year so Quintana doesn't make much sense.
  3. If the player is claimed off waivers then the new team is entirely responsible for the salary. DJ wasn't claimed on waivers so the Yankees just straight up released him so they are on the hook for everything outside of the prorated minimum the rest of this year and next.
  4. Not that we need more SP depth but I was really hoping we could keep him around. I think White has a chance to get an MLB deal somewhere this coming offseason after a really impressive season in the KBO
  5. He was also pitching on 1 day rest after throwing 39 pitches and taking a hard comebacker off this throwing hand. He really should have never been out there on Wednesday.
  6. He really wasn't crushing the ball. Just extremely good batted ball luck. Since June 1st he has a .338 wOBA vs a .303 xwOBA with a .419 BABIP. Also only 4 XBH in 96 PA so basically just purely singles which for a station to station runner like him isn't good.
  7. Don't think the Fangraphs draft board has been updated since before the college season so not sure how Melendez will rank when it's updated later this week. He's 123 at BA, 92 at ESPN, 140 at Pipeline. Seems like he would be a decent pick at 94 or 125.
  8. There's not much to say about him because ACL games are not streamed. What we know from a couple statcast ACL games is that he's got some bat speed as he hit a baseball 113mph in one of the statcast games. He also posts video on his instagram at times. I think this clip of a grand slam earlier this year was from his instagram
  9. Aaron Ashby in his career as a reliever - 80.2 IP, 2.57 ERA, 2.24 FIP, 33% K-rate, 7% BB-rate, 62% GB-rate. No idea why you wouldn't trust that
  10. Nobody said Ashby should be used in a 1 inning role and how he's been used has not been giving high leverage guys off because he basically never pitches in leverage hence the second lowest leverage index in the bullpen. They should use Ashby like 2018 Hader as a multi-inning leverage guy.
  11. Outside of Misiorowski, I don't think there's a single in the player in the system I could completely rule off the table in a trade. Guys like Made and Pena are the next closest but if we could move one of them as a headliner for a really good MLB player with team control, I would consider it with them in A ball multiple years away from impacting the big league club.
  12. Is Reynolds better than Collins? Even assuming Reynolds bounces back at the plate, the bat is basically all he offers at this point. He's a huge downgrade from Collins both defensively and on the bases which are two things the Brewers put a bunch of emphasis on.
  13. No longer listed for the week either. Hopefully it's not an injury. I was kind of hoping he could replace McGee in the bullpen which would allow Ashby to be shifted to more of a leverage multi-inning role.
  14. The bigger issue is finding the Yelich type player to trade for. Maybe the Nats are willing to trade CJ Abrams in the offseason and the Brewers think they can improve his SS defense.
  15. It makes absolutely no sense. He's terrible and has another year on his contract.
  16. Yeah I just don't really get it. Ortiz was playing his best baseball of the season then had two really bad games in Miami and Murphy benched him and just tore him to shreds publicly. Weird situation.
  17. Double strike on Murphy's bullpen management this series. Had Ashby throw 2 innings up 7 and 9 runs in game 1 and then tried to use him again on 1 day rest after 39 pitches in game 1.
  18. Absolutely not lol. I don't really care that Stewart has 2 more years of team control when he is 33 and has never been able to stay healthy. The guy hasn't thrown 40 innings in a season since 2019.
  19. I know you're joking but Koenig actually had more velo than Uribe tonight. Topped out at 99.5 which was the hardest pitch of his career.
  20. I agree that it's a pretty fair deal. Just no chance the Brewers would do it.
  21. I was sitting next to a group of four (two husbands and two wives) and one of the wives said oh Woodruff hit a HR this year, maybe he hits a HR here. I turned to her and said no chance he hits a HR off Kershaw. I was so confident that I said if he does, I'll buy beers for all four of you. Probably the best 4 beers I've bought in my life.
