  1. Moncada is the right move and I have a hunch Arnold feels the same way and gets it done with him.
  2. Ok. Leta assume Yelich is healthy as can be and wants to start in left all year. Hoskins is at 1b for better than worse imo. Wouldn’t Jimenez be a good dh bat and rare spot LF/1B to join our team ?
  3. He wants the picks for Severino/Mannea/Alfonso I’m guessing, while signing Soto and guys that didn’t turn down the QO.
  4. What about Williams boeve and Koenig for stott and painter. Or for the other half that prefer Bohm: williams boeve and Koenig for Bohm and Painter?
  5. Also let me add….the entire point here is not to disagree with me rather for you posters to answer the question: Do you have a Kikuchi/Snell/D’Arnaud idea for a player(s) that might be good enough for them to accept prior to the winter meetings extravaganza. I don’t care if you don’t like mine. What guys would you offer a big enough contract that they might accept to?
  6. I figure this might be a decently interesting thread until we reach the winter meetings. Obviously Kikuchi, Snell, and D’Arnaud were offered and accepted deals prior to the winter meetings. My question to you all is this: What players would you make legitimate strong offers to like now (prior to the winter meetings) that you could see being accepted? Id be ok with the following: Moncada: 1/8 with second year mutual option at 16 million . (1.5 million buyout) Polanco: 1/6 million with second year mutual option at 10 million. (1 million buyout). Flaherty: 5/100 million O’Neil: 2/30 million Analysis: Obviously Mark A would need to sign off on the Flaherty deal but that is our nominal offer to our own top guys and maybe we’d see Jack as an ace-ish starter we desperately need at a relatively affordable price. O’Neil would be a value signing with the power bat we could use after losing Adames and we’d need to make the pieces fit in some sort of OF/Dh rotation. Moncada I love in a prove it deal as he’s still somewhat young and has big upside and strong defense. Seems Milwaukee would be a place he’d potentially play his best. Polanco would be a nice vet bat for the bench and can play 2b at minimum. Other than last year he’s been really solid and won’t cost a ton.
  7. We had him in aaa last year and the guy was a top top prospect (in fact was our headliner in lucroy trade that he nixed). Has his defense become adequate and is he returning to the organization? We are a year from a likely Contreras trade and id love to have him as the third or fourth catcher in the organization going into this season.
  8. Sign me up for Sheehan for Williams if it were doable. Could turn around and deal Civale or even Peralta (if we got a haul of sorts).
  9. In fact, if they are sold on moving Devers to first, I wouldn’t trade Henderson and Black alone for Casas. He’s just not that good.
  10. I love all your posts and comments Jay, but this is massively more than I’d pay for Casas. We can deal these pieces one by one (or keep a couple of them) and have a much greater outlook than Casas alone gives us for four nice pieces.
  11. There won’t be a lot of games for guys like Bobby Miller Gavin Stone Justin Wroblewski and Landon Knack to start in LA health permitting. Any ideas of guys you’d target from the dodgers after their Snell signing and what do we have that might intrigue them.
  12. Could Devin and Mitchell or Frelick get us both Stott and Bohm as well as Crawford? We’d have a nice five man rotation in the infield then (with Rhys, Brice, and Joey). Also opens up a spot for Black to get some corner OF time as the 4th or 5th OF (assuming Yelich/One of Mitchell or Frelick and Chourio is our penciled in opening day outfield. ) I see a real need to get a second starting caliber infielder beyond just one guy that starts at 2b or 3B and getting both guys would solve that immensely.
  13. I just don’t know what we’d have to trade that would interest them, but I’d love to get some of their non-ace starting pitchers that are controllable in some kind of a deal. Guys like Bobby Miller, Gavin Stone, Landon Knack, Justin Wroblewski. Maybe Devin and Perkins could get at least two of the aforementioned? Devin and Frelick or Mitchell gets us three of them? Idk but their starters they won’t have room for in the rotation are of keen interest to me.
  14. Id probably rather get control if moving Black. Devin is my only avenue I’d want Bohm.
  15. I think an offer of Black Boeve EBJ and wichowski could potentially get it done. Seems similar to our Yelich trade…four for one with only one pitcher included.,
  16. What about Bryson Stott and Brandon Crawford for Devin Williams and Blake Perkins. Phillies get the best closer in baseball and a huge upgrade to their OF defense. We get a controlled 2b starter and a good top OF prospect 3 or so years away. Maybe we need to throw in a lesser OF prospect as well though.
  17. I see the jays as possibly a great trading partner. They have a surplus on the IF and are looking for a lefty arm. Might we be able to trade something like Perkins and Koenig for Horowitz? Can he play second ok or is he strictly a 1b? I’d love to target the guy in a trade of some sort.
  18. The guy was the number one prospect in the game and is showing why as his career ages. Might he be a guy to go after? Crazy idea maybe, but he could even probably handle 2b ok couldn’t he?
  19. What do we think happens with Hoby Milner ?
  20. Sign to Yoan Moncada for 1/8. Sign Jorge Polanco for 1/5. Keep Devin Williams I see nothing else we need to do before the season. I like the look of this team. C: William Contreras ($7.60M) 1B: Rhys Hoskins ($18.00M) 2B: Joey Ortiz ($0.80M) 3B: Yoan Moncada ($8.00M) SS: Brice Turang ($0.80M) LF: Jackson Chourio ($4.25M) CF: Garrett Mitchell ($0.80M) RF: Sal Frelick ($0.80M) DH: Christian Yelich ($24.25M) 4th OF: Blake Perkins ($0.80M) Utility: Andrew Monasterio ($0.80M) Utility: Jorge Polanco ($5.00M) Backup C: Eric Haase ($1.80M) NA: Add Dead Money Here ($0.00M) SP1: Freddy Peralta ($8.25M) SP2: Aaron Civale ($8.00M) SP3: Tobias Myers ($0.80M) SP4: Brandon Woodruff ($5.00M) SP5: Robert Gasser ($0.80M) RP: Devin Williams ($7.70M) RP: Trevor Megill ($2.00M) RP: Nick Mears ($0.90M) RP: Jared Koenig ($0.80M) RP: Hoby Milner ($2.70M) RP: Joel Payamps ($2.80M) RP: J.B. Bukauskas ($0.80M) RP: Aaron Ashby ($3.45M) NA: Add Dead Money Here ($0.00M) Payroll is 9.46% under budget
  21. I wish Adames all the riches he can attain and am happy to get a pick in the 30s in the 2025 mlb draft!
  22. Haha! Moncada I meant but spell check failed me miserably and I failed to catch it. My bad on that one.
  23. Mombasa makes the most sense and I think we’ve shown interest already.
