  2. still happening only w/ mlb.com and is frustrating the heck out of me today. Hoping a bump will get some new eyes on the problem.
  3. how is it that 48 and sunny feels like 70 at this time of year? In fall 48 and sunny means a day stuck in the house for me.
  4. congrats on the job! Keep us posted on how its going. You are living one of my dreams (the park ranger part, not the texas part) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. If it were me, I'd go with number 1. It fits your overall career plan much better and provides more stability at the same time. I think it is smarter to side with some short term issues if it means you have a better chance of getting what you really want within 5-10 years. Trust your gut though, you understand what this decision means in your life better than anyone else will.
  6. I still give credit to the good curve ball because he is probably good at throwing the fastball when hitters may be looking for the curve...or maybe they might be taking because he throws a lot of balls and they have a better chance of walking than hitting his stuff.
  7. Thundersnow last night in Green Bay.
  8. and the caffeine question southpaw? Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
  9. I've been running into an issue on my laptop trying to stream from MLB audio. After about 5 minutes (or less) my laptop disconnects, then can't reconnect to the router. If I reset the router it works again; but the same thing happens after another little while. This doesn't happen listening to podcasts, pandora, watching the NCAA tourney, skype, etc....just mlb audio. Any ideas?
  10. A lot of people/players get frustrated; but not everyone handles it so poorly. IF this is true it fits with the profile hinted at by the organization, things I've seen first hand, and explains WHY he might not be getting the shots we all think he "deserves". Even the way his sister handled things while she posted here says something about how his family operates. Thin skin would be an understatement. If something seems illogical (such as the way the club has handled Gamel) I believe there is USUALLY a logical explanation for it that the club is classy or savvy enough not to go public with. Melvin/Yost/Macha/Roenicke may not always have been right; but they are rarely irrational (well maybe yost was http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ). Gamel is not the victim here. Also, it makes me wonder why the JS staff can't give us quality information on these types of situations. I've been to Arizona several times and you run into scouts around every corner and they are generally ready and willing to talk to anyone. I wouldn't expect McCalvy to dig up dirt on the brewers considering his employer; but "unnamed sources" could really help the JS staff give us more interesting/useful information.
  11. I fall into many of the same traps every year...and Pitt is one of them.
  12. the "boldness" factor of these predictions decreases every day http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. I ended up taking Utah state for my "bonus team". I have Texas/Kansas in the final with Kansas winning. I'm becoming more and more happy with my Michigan/Duke upset pick, even though I'll undoubtedly be wrong.
  14. Per the JS today. No mentions of a minor ligament tear for Gindle, and 3-4 is down from the original 4-6 for Schafer. Good news.
  15. Thought I'd open up a topic for this one. Who are your upsets? Who's going deep? Also thought I'd get your feedback on this little quandary: part of my pool is that I can choose any team in the tournament and I get paid half of that team's seed for every game they win. Who would you choose?
  16. Interesting write up. Haven't watched the video yet. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110312&content_id=16917874&vkey=news_mil&c_id=mil
  17. So he's pretty much doing his career norms. I would go with Kottaras and Maldonado until Lucroy gets back.
  18. May want to bump this to a "headline" thread as not everyone checks this forum. Depending on the date I would consider making the trip to Madison or Milwaukee; but I agree that it is probably not a good idea to try two at this point.
