I thought it was kinda a given the Bucks were gonna sign Shake Milton. Having played with Doc, a position of need...the limitations in the buyout market. I'd just prefer we see Beauchamp get playing time, but something is up there. I see all the people giving up on the Bucks, but, this may just be a team built for the post-season. I remember how bad Boston was the first half two years ago, Miami wasn't lighting the world on fire last year. This particular team has been working Middleton back in and the ability to have PatBev and Milton defend for stretches, if I squint, I can see it.

Yeah, he's been hurt, but...it's still hard for me to justify long-term playing Green over Beauchamp and Jackson Jr. You think the extra shooter is more likely to make the difference or the 3 and D guys? And Beauchamp has been EXACTLY what you want him to be with the potential for more. He's hit 42% from 3 in the corner, he can play on the ball. I think Jackson has shot really well from the corner. That's where that player is going to camp out. I agree it'd be silly to write this team off...but I'm not encouraged right now. Conversely, I was impressed many times during the regular season only to lose to Miami(or Toronto, Boston)...so we'll see.

That could be interesting...as long as he's not too rigid about it. A good DC should play multiple fronts. A 5-2, 4-3, 3-4. A 4-3 will certainly help guys like Wyatt, Brooks, Wooden. It plays to their strengths. They don't have to play two gaps and can get into the backfield. As for concerns about Slaton not being a fit...Vita Vea plays in a 4-3. Big, physical run stuffers are required to play a 3-4. They're more of a bonus in a 43. The main difference will be the DL and then I guess we need another MLBer if we move on from Campbell. Quay's role will probably not change too much. I'd guess he plays MLBer, maybe WLB. Gives him a little more freedom. McDuffie the SLB More likely they'll take a big safety or sign a guy like Jeremy Chinn, he could fill in at WLBer while helping cover the middle of the field.

I mean...if you read back here, I think I've been with you, but...it is amazing how bad such a talented team can look. And since we have so royally screwed our future(which I do not blame them for at ALL)...it's now or never. You either win another title or you don't. We'll see though.

Ok, if Jackson is hurt or can't play, why put him in for garbage time? Green is shooting the ball well. I'm not worried about our scoring. I think having either player on the floor over Green is going to be more important. -I don't like the back-to-back cop-out. These aren't guys in an over-40 league, they're athletes in their 20s and 30s. But my issue also isn't with ONE loss.

You see what he looks like and maybe they're more open to an extension early. But as of now, he'd be on pace to be a Super 2...I think, but you get 6 years. I don't know if you're spending 3 seasons before you can pencil him in as a full-time starter. If he's 130 next year, the following year you should be expecting ~160-170 and...that's a good year. How many guys give you 200 innings a year? I'm more worried about him being able to throw 120 innings given his history than I am about the time it'll take him to build up to that point.

And they follow it up with another flop. I don't get why Jackson Jr and Beauchamp aren't playing. They need to give these young guys some run. ESPECIALLY on the 2nd night of a back-to-back in which Middleton isn't playing? It's just ridiculous to see both not on the floor at all. If you say Jackson isn't playing due to the wrist...fine. He came in the final ~40 seconds, but that'd make sense. And Marjon? You're ruining his confidence. I get it, no Brook, no Middleton and Utah got hot. But unless you've actually got this miracle trade for Smart lined up...which I won't buy, no matter how many reports there are the Bucks have "called about him," then you need to get the most out of the guys you have.

I'm saying in both Philly and Dallas, each side would work with some concessions. They both have strong owners, the Cowboys would have to hire McKlay, who is one of the up-and-coming GM candidates. So for it to work, Jones would have to step back, Bellichick would have to as well. I don't know that he would, but the opportunity to win in Dallas would seem like a helluva incentive. In Philly, he'd stay in the same general region and they already have the ownership and GM in place. So he'd have to JUST be the head coach. I also wouldn't care about how he uses analytics. Bellichick was going for it on 4th and 3 from his own 30 vs Indy because he knew his team couldn't stop Peyton Manning. I think relying on analytics in Football is a bit of a crutch. Beyond that, I just don't see how you can say, "Belichick may still be a great defensive game planner, but that is all you are getting from him." You're getting an entire culture. A guy with EIGHT Super Bowl rings. People forget awfully quickly what a great coach he is. If you hire him as your coach and GM, then it's destined to fail. But he wants to keep going. People have said it's to set the all-time wins record. Others retire and they lack purpose. I don't know, it's a LOT of work. The hours are insane.

Ok...that's good to know. Do you have any thoughts on the pre-fabricated buildings? Like American Garage? Anything like that? Morton?

LOL...no, I'm saying I'm NOT going to have the giant 40x40 structure with the living space. It's insane. It's just a friend who doesn't do anything halfway, it's his idea. not mine! And while he'll give me a discount, it's like getting a discount on a Ferrari. Yeah, I'd get a deal, but a deal on a Ferrari is still expensive as hell! It DOES sound pretty cool, but so does lots of stuff! And Menards actually have those hydroponic radiating floors as part of their kid. I looked into Menards(which never crossed my mind before that) and they had some good options. I thought it'd be thousands of dollars, but it's not. And the cost on your electrical bill is less than a space heater(from what I can tell). I'm going to an open house for Morton and Bigbuildingsdirect.com. See if they're cheap or not. I want to see how they're made and how they feel in December. Again, just need to protect my stuff from the elements.

He may, but I think that's just ridiculous. Setting aside that he did win a couple as a DC and was given a lot of credit for winning those SBs, look at some of the SBs he won with NE? The Rams' wins(x2) were on the defense, against the Panthers... Even last year he had some games where he just shut teams down defensively. He's a brilliant defensive mind and he's not gotten stale. What he has done is run the Pats into the ground by drafting guys like Strange in the 1st rd when everyone else has 3rd or 4th rd grades on them. Trying to out-smart everyone. If Dallas was smart, they'd make Will McClay their GM, he'd have total FB authority. They'd bring in Belichick. He'd have complete autonomy over coaching the team. You can bring McDaniels back...I think he's a good OC, clearly just not a good HC. You could do the same in Philly as they already have a similar system in place with Roseman and Lurie. Both teams have WRers who are really good after the catch so it kinda fits what *(Edit) Belichick likes to do. I don't particularly like either BB or Brady, but it would be silly to ascribe more value to either one IMO. It was, as you said, kinda the perfect fit.

That's sorta the direction I'm thinking about going. The one I'm looking at comes with a lifetime warranty for structural issues, 30 year on the siding(and a couple others). I can put in the concrete(or rather have a friend help me). Put some drainage in, put in the foam insulation. It's just a place to keep the snow and stuff off my cars and stuff, I'm not going to be spending hours a day out there working on things. It's kinda funny...when I suggested doing something other than these crazy, all-out, heated floors(though I do think I'll get the Hydronic Radiant Heat floors as those are surprisingly cost-effective and cheaper than I thought) and a bathroom out there and a loft with living space(basically a small house) my friend who's a contractor acts like you might as well just throw up a lean-to! I appreciate the advice. I hadn't even looked at Menards. I'm just gonna go one step at a time. Take the trees down, then have it graded and concrete poured...and then maybe I'll do it this fall or just see where I'm at-at this point.

He plays aggressively, he plays single high with an extra man in the box. He covers the middle of the field and he blitzes the QB. What DC would you feel good about? It'd almost have to be someone you've seen call plays...and that usually means they were fired. IDK, he wasn't my first choice(or a choice)...but the guy left a stable job in College and took a big pay cut because he wanted to get back to coaching and he has enough of a history with players. You never know until you know, but...there's not much you could be too much more excited about than what he's done at this point.

Eh, fair enough! I don't particularly care if it's true or not because I like the guy that we did get. It'd just leave a bit of a sour taste if that was the case. But, it sounds like it may not be, so all the better.

Bucks inquiring about Marcus Smart... What in the hell is THAT gonna entail? I'm struggling to envision a scenario in which the Bucks end up with Smart, but man, that'd be the ultimate counter-counter punch to the Celtics. Dame/Smart/Midds/Giannis/Brook I can't say there's anyone else on the team I would make off-limits. Portis, Connaughton and Beauchamp would have to go+2nds. Still doesn't make sense, but lets just work this out. 2nd unit Payne/Beasley/AJ Green/Jackson Jr/Crowder? It'll be fascinating to see if they can pull something like this off. Not Smart maybe, but a significant play making perimeter guard. play-making

I wonder how much of that IS actually Haslem. If he owns 33% of the team, is he actually paying more? IDK, but 23M for the HC this year and then nearly 16M the next 3, that's...a lot.

There's no need to and it just causes more issues down the road. Kenny Clark, as it stands, will have a ~14M dead cap in '25. If you do this and split that 27M up with 4 MORE void years, you're making that dead cap over 30 in '25. Gary...you lose leverage in future negotiations(and again, really no need). Jones-He's 30. I think it's more likely he takes a pay cut(not much but 3-4M) than an extension. Jaire-He's 27. I wouldn't move off him(unless you get a big-time offer) but I also wouldn't want to make the potential to move off him on the future that much more expensive. Preston Smith...same thing. He's nearing the end of his career. It's not hard to envision the Packers using their 1st rd pick on ANOTHER edge rusher(hypothetically, don't think they'll do it, but if an edge is their #1 rated player...). I don't want Ted Thompson type conservative spending, but you also don't want to be back where we were last year with the dead cap and void years...if you can avoid it, and you can. Right. Even if you went and signed a FA for 80M, it'd make more sense to backload that deal than to deal with more void years. The void years also mean you get no draft pick compensation(which was why I thought it weird they did it with Nijman, but it likely means they'll be active in free agency).

Smith's not a 4-3 OLB. He's just a DE in a 43. I think it benefits Wyatt the most, but...I also don't think it really matters. I would assume though that Walker would be the MLBer, McDuffie the SLBer and then we'd draft a bigger safety to be the weakside backer. Campbell could also easily play any of those three positions...IF he's playing well. Walker on the weak side would give him an opportunity to make a lot of plays. But I'd guess we're staying in a 3-4.

I don't think that's the case. I doubt they left in an acrimonious place. Leonhard's position was perfectly understandable...and he may just not be interested in coaching in the NFL. He's been mentioned for several high-profile College jobs. Plus, some guys leave and they come back to an organization...so I doubt the choice to not interview him(assuming they didn't, we don't know...we sure as hell didn't know THIS guy was going to be the DC choice as it was kept close to the vest) -had anything to do with turning down the job.

Payroll was over 138 last year and over 135 the previous year. A prorated 115 for 2020. It WAS down to 105 in '21 after they lost money, but a little hard to blame them for that, no?

That's from the Athletic. The standard for a starting pitcher shouldn't be 'is he coming off his BEST season.' He's clearly viewed as an elite pitcher. The "regression" from his CY Young award included top 8 finishes in voting each year, a WHIP under 1 until the league hit better this year and he was just over 1.0...and he led the league. He's durable, he's going to give you 200 innings a year, strike out 200 and he's going to pitch like an ace. I don't get how it's often the same people saying he's going to get 300M, he's priced himself out...who will also say he's no longer an ace or he's regressed? I don't think teams too notice of his "decline," and I think he's viewed as one of the top pitchers in the game. I think what's more likely is that...teams don't really care about the rankings(they'll use it to hype a player, but really, that's not what they look at when they're trading for someone) and they have their own. The Brewers...I HOPE simply viewed Hall as a guy who they could "fix," and get him to throw more than 50-60 innings a season while also getting a pretty high floor SS(or 2B/3B) who also has a relatively high ceiling and then moving their draft capital up a year.

I've been going back and forth with this. I have a small garage. It's supposed to be 2 cars, but...you know how that is. I've been looking around from building a traditional garage to going with a company like Morton to ALL these other brands that are pre-fabricated and my head is spinning. Looking for one that's ~34x26. I'd like to be able to put a boat in there, a truck and then have enough room for a little office/work space. I've seen some like "big buildings direct," who offer what appear to be a good price, but they don't handle anything but just delivery and putting it up. No electric, no plumbing, insulation...you have to pay extra for the better insulation and then for the garage doors. I know I could hire a contractor to build a traditional wood garage. That's quite a bit more expensive. I've also read that the metal structures are better, particularly for Wisconsin. Less issues with rot or termites. The quote I got on that was 20K for the materials alone(actually over). I'd have people i know and help building it for me, but I'm still gonna end up ~20 over what I'd like to be at after everything else I have to add. That's not accounting for all the permitting and dealing with all of that. I'd also need to remove a tree and have it graded before(which is the easiest part of it as my neighbor has a company that does just that. So, just curious if anyone has gone with one of these prefabricated companies in Southeast Wisconsin or even from out of state who contract through people in SE Wisconsin? Who they went with, what their experience was, good or bad. I'm trying to keep my expenses down(obviously). I can't help but think about how every dollar I spend is really 4-8 dollars in when I'm looking to retire(conservatively) but that's also not a healthy way to live. IF you built one at a good, reasonable price, please tell me who you went with, what you'd do differently and what you're happy with that you choose to add on.

Dude...the O's have the #1 system in the minors. We've got the #2. I think it MIGHT be a tad premature to say we're entering a period of futility...where we're a team picking top 7-8 some years and others just making the playoffs. Don't love this AFTER signing Hoskins, but certainly doesn't mean the future is any less bright.
