  1. Sure, it's "purely subjective," to point out that Wisconsin still being in one of the two relevant conferences... which comes with significantly more resources and exposure is a selling point... You ignored all the things like... financial resources and I said how far you could go back. To Gundy's era or to 2000, 1990. The last 10 years takes the worst 5 year stretch we've had since '93 to create the strongest argument for Okie State. But if we're just going to ignore like 75% of the argument and then sure, the "objective" part is Oklahoma State is a better program....
  2. Dude... you sticking with that? The Colts are looking pretty damn good... Posted shortly before the Broncos made one game worth watching. Payton goes for 2 and Denver comes back from 17-3 to take an 18-17 lead.
  3. BA and Schroeder are easily the best combination. BA's like the little brother giving the big brother crap... and I like his calls. I'll take him for half the games vs none of the games. Levering and his cribbage or talking about snacks got real old. Dillard is alright.
  4. I think we're all aware Brian.
  5. True... but it's also nice to not have to throw Megill and company. I'm not sure Civale will be available either(not that I was real worried about that).
  6. No, I cannot tell any such thing. He also does more than just "occasionally" call a game. I believe he called 78 Brewers games. He's one of the best in the business... He does more Brewers than anything else, so not really a "side gig." I'd guess he makes less per game, so not sure why that makes him a "poser Brewer fan," but... what a weird thing on a day we beat the Cubs in the playoffs to focus on.
  7. If they're pushing for a cap, it's a safe bet much of '27 will be wiped out... but it's not like the clubs have to pay those players. They've signed 2 or 3 players from a list like this in the last decade, so... that's a safe bet. I'd certainly be interested in someone like Fairbanks if you could get him for ~3/27 or Kopech if he's only going to cost 3-5M. I think that's a worthwhile risk to take on and it wouldn't be a long term deal. But otherwise, of course we're not going to go sign a big name FA. I do hope they are aggressive in looking for a power arm out of the BP. That was the one thing I wanted at the deadline(at least the one thing I thought it was worth giving up good prospects for, a controllable reliever). I hope the Megill thing is no big deal, but it'd be nice to have someone who could slow in between Uribe and Megill if he's healthy and some protection against injury... and the Brewers work well with relievers... plus, a World Series run could be an additional 50-100M in revenue for a small market team(apparently), so... Bichette isn't realistic, nor are most of those names, but there are a couple and then quite a few more not mentioned. Helsely. I'd definitely see how realistic that was. He wasn't great after the trade, so... he could be an option. And again, I think including Jordan Montgomery into the Shelby Miller deal served two purposes. Balance the salaries and then an ancillary benefit would be to keep an eye on Jordan Montgomery and how his recovery is coming along. Could be a great guy to sign on a team friendly deal to prove he's healthy again.
  8. Closer to 500M has been the consensus... that I've seen... and I would love to see the Cubs give him that. He's more athletic and as good of a hitter(plus, a better fielder at a more important position) And when you say "I wouldn't go over 5 years for any of them," do you mean... the Brewers? Or just anyone? Because most of them are going to get at least 5 years. Bichette's a 27 year old SS with an 800+ OPS. He's getting a deal over 5 years. I wouldn't expect some drastic shift in contracts this off-season because of what the owners might, maybe, try to do in next years CBA. I mean, we lost a World Series and a season talking about a cap. What's more, I'd assume any "cap" will look a more like the NBA than the NFL and that's IF it were to happen... which I don't think it will. I'd expect Tucker still gets 450+ The Dodgers are shockingly the favorites and he'll probably end up there...which I'm numb to at this point. Bichette gets mid 300s most likely(wouldn't be surprised to see the Yanks go after him given Volpe's struggles). Schwarber should gets 40M AAV if it's 4 years or less and maybe 35 if you go 5 years...IMO. Alanso is probably going to get 7/210 to stay with the Mets. Bregman... I don't really know what he'll get. He was really good this year but got hurt. 40M AAV over 3years. I could see the Red Sox just adding a couple years and avoiding free agency. Framber Valdez I'd put in the 7 year 240M range. The work stoppage and the aims at these new caps and floors were well known going into last year and they didn't really put a dent into free agent prices. I don't expect they will this year either. And even if things work out as well as the owners and the commissioner could hope for, they're not going to go into a 180 or even 200M hard cap in 2 years. Most likely, they'll get a salary floor... which will only actually serve to hurt a team like the Brewers, more revenue sharing and then maybe something closer to the NBA salary cap. They won't do max contracts or anything, just you can go over to keep your own players would be my best guess.
  9. .288 BA, 81 RBIs! Not quite an All-Star just yet, but... his 3rd multi-hit playoff game in his last 4 and arguably the Brewers MVP... And no, I didn't search for this thread. I just wanted to see if anyone else saw any Trea Turner in his game and this thread popped up.
  10. If he feels good, I'd just let him go. Things turn quickly in this series... and with Gm3 starter being a question mark, things can turn too quickly. We need to jump on the Cubs with Priester throwing Gm2. If he's not ready... then he's not ready, but I wouldn't sit him just to give him a couple more days. Having him DH isn't ideal as it puts Yelich in LF, but... with Preister, that's not as big of a deal.
  11. No kidding. At least hit the treadmill before you start hitting 10-year-old kids... Get down to 220, THEN you can tee off on the 10-year-olds!
  12. I mean... they did say "the biggest hole." We really don't have many. C-We've got depth IF-We can reasonably go 2 deep there over the next two years. OF-Maybe some questions there, but you also have a young OF already in Milwaukee. I do think two of the '27 guys could just as easily be guys who get the call in '26. But man, what a GREAT opening game for the '25 post-season! Put 'em away early and now we're talking about the farm system because there was so little suspense in this game!
  13. I don't see how it makes sense to trade your ace when you've got one of the top farm systems in the game and you're a legitimate World Series contender. When do you actually try and win it? It's one thing to NOT want to trade Made, Pena, Mis, Pratt, but you don't need to take away your best pitcher to add more depth to help in a few years(at which point you'll be trading away Contreras or Megill or whomever).
  14. I kinda agree. I think you could put together a fine rotation without Peralta... but you don't need to like when we traded Lucroy, Gomez, Hader. We have enough talent and we have Priester, Mis, Ashby, Patrick, Myers... then Hardin, Wichrowski and a few guys who COULD be ready(and who you could start if you needed someone). Plus, I would assume we'd add a cheap vet like Wade Miley or someone along those lines(Quintana this year). BUT... again, we don't need to. So just try and win a WS... however this year turns out.
  15. There's no rules. Just World Series we're trying to win without knee-capping the future of the team. This same rule would have us trading Peralta this upcoming off-season. That doesn't make much sense, does it?
  16. I wouldn't throw Mis in this game unless we add a few more runs. Maybe 11-1, 11-2 in the 8th and I'd let him throw. But... not now.
  17. Not worth trying IMO. You take a playoff win when you can get it. Let Freddy go 6, hopefully 7, save the pen. Though, it's not a crazy idea, but you're not going to have him for game 5 if you do this. It's 2 games either way... And no shot am I bringing in Mis up 8-1. If we bring in Mis, I expect it'd be a game we're down a couple runs and just tell him to go out there and try and throw it by guys. Fastball, slider, 2 pitches.
  18. People on here act like he's... Misiorowski or something!
  19. He never reached or grabbed at the Hammy... so I don't think that was it. Looked like he stepped funny on first. So maybe a tweaked ankle? He walked off totally normal though, so... I think it might be just that. You have Collins, 9-1 game, make sure he's alright. With the off-days? I'm hoping that's all it is.
  20. Turnovers are largely the result of luck. It's why I didn't think our defense was actually top 5-6 last year... but I do this year(though it was a bad game vs Dallas). Is that confidence in the Jags or a lack of confidence in the Colts?
  21. No... not yet. Years and years they've been a very different team. They've had terrible OLs and haven't had Harbaugh. There are two teams I'm not picking against this year in my survivor pool. The Browns and the Giants at home. They seem like easy wins and... they can be when they turn it over, but both are so good up front. LAC going on the road and playing the Giants and losing that game isn't surprising to me at all. Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brians Burns, Abdul Carter... And then the Chargers lose Joe Alt(along with Slater, but he's out for the year). I'm really not sure that they don't win the division. They've already got wins over the Chiefs and the Broncos, two very good teams. They won't get Slater back, but Alt, Mack and others will be back. I completely understand what you're saying about the Chargers of years past... Shawn Merriman and all those Phillip Rivers years, but this team is better up front. I don't think they'll win the SB this year, but I think they're right up there.
  22. I think it was still a no-brainer to include Clark in that deal. Wooden has been playing NT(or rather he's been the 1 tech which is the 4-3 equivalent of NT). It really shouldn't be hard to bring someone in to just play a 1 technique in early downs, but I think the bigger issue is that Wyatt is such a good pass rusher, he doesn't leave a lane for the QB to step up. I'd be checking in on Christian Wilkins. If he's healthy, he should be a cheap addition and GB would be just about the best place to improve his value. He's also more than capable of playing either the 1 or the 3 and he can rush the QB. All this assumes he's healthy, but if he is, that could be a massive addition. Short of that, they should still be able to find someone to play the run relatively cheap. Mike Pennell was a FA and then signed to the Bengals PS. The holding really was just so ridiculous. Brooks was tackled on a couple plays himself. It was bad.
  23. Yeah, I thought the declaration of Golden a bit silly given how early it is(especially contrasting it to Williams). How he's not creative? Also... the purpose of that is to agree or disagree, right? Well...I don't agree.
  24. That's a BIG spread for a Michigan program that I don't think is that strong this year... This may be one of the easiest games left on the schedule... so, it'd be nice to be competitive. We've got the #1 and #2 teams coming up, another top 10 team.
