  1. Why would the Bucks want to do that trade?
  2. He's only 24 and could be a fallback option if Gamel doesn't succeed. I don't know that I'd give up Marcum just for Smoak at this point, but trading for him has at least some merit, assuming Prince signs with the Mariners.
  3. I can't wait for him to call for the Red Sox to re-sign "Jose Ortiz."
  4. I'm sure there will be plenty of angst among some Brewers fans if we miss the playoffs this year and Boston makes it.
  5. Mariners interested in Prince Fielder.
  6. Adam McCalvy confirms that the Brewers won't bid on Nakajima.
  7. Is it just me or has the forum been running a bit sluggish the past day or two?
  8. I guess with the points you guys have made, yeah, Fielder could help put the Nationals over the top. I agree with Briggs that I'd rather see him go there than Chicago.
  9. Not a bad signing for $4 million (as reported).
  10. So, does anyone really think Prince could end up signing with the Nationals? They certainly have the money to spend. It's hard to imagine him going to a team that's probably going to be a non-contender for at least a couple more seasons, though.
  11. Isn't it called Impact Wrestling now, or is that just the TV show?
  12. Yes, that was it, thanks.
  13. re: Sheets and Jenkins. Jenkins officially retired as a Brewer this past season. Sheets has yet to officially retire.
  14. I can't find the exact link at the moment, but Jim Bowden was speculating that Prince Fielder might re-sign with Milwaukee due to not getting a lot of interest from other teams right now.
  15. It is sort of a down time in baseball news right now. We're in that lull between the World Series and the Winter Meetings where not too much really happens. That said, the disproportionate coverage clearly is indicative of the media's bias towards the big east coast teams. The Red Sox, in particular, get heavy coverage for even relatively minor moves they make.
  16. The guy who tweeted the rumor about Reyes the other day actually responded to me this morning: Apparently Jim Gantner and it was through a friend who knows him. Yea need a new source for sure!
  17. Sounds intriguing, but I bet the Brewers don't even bother investigating him.
  18. Awesome job, Ryan, and congrats to the voters for making the right decision.
  19. Anyone else find it interesting despite all the talk and speculation, nothing has come out about any one team really being interested in Prince yet?
  20. Melvin and the Brewers have been much more tight lipped in a recent years. I think Melvin was frustrated by how long the Sabathia "negotiations" played out after the '08 season, and they realized leaking out contract offers didn't really do them any good.
  21. This is exactly as high as I'd go as well. I'm sure some stupid team will give him a seventh year, though.
  22. Anyone else picking up WWE '12 today? Will be my first new game purchase in a while.
  23. Seems like a big overpay for a guy that is probably on the decline.
  24. This was the Pirates' annual "Hey, we gotta pay somebody, right?" signing, like Lyle Overbay last year.
  25. Well, I think he's going to find he won't be getting a contract that ridiculous.
