  1. Another positive: Gomez hit a home run and drew a walk.
  2. No, I think on the replay it looked like McGehee just did not get the tag on. Really bad mistake.
  3. Only one game, but I am liking Gomez's approach at the plate so far, even if the results haven't shown it (aside from the homer, obviously).
  4. Braun worked out all winter with Gabe Kapler, who once got so sick of steroid accusations that he voluntarily took a test and passed. I really doubt Braun would be so stupid as to mess with a banned substance.
  5. I think the lineup is looking good so far.
  6. Well, I don't have strep, I found out...so that's good at least. Still just going to sit home and watch the game, though.
  7. Congrats on your job, Game05. I know you'd been looking for something like that for a long time.
  8. Ishikawa is already 27 and fairly mediocre. I think we can find something better on the FA market next year, or go with Gamel at 1B and hope someone else steps it up in the minors if he falters.
  9. 1-0. Gomez will match his debut performance last season and help the team win a tight contest.
  10. Every once in a while I'll flip over to RAW on a Monday night in between other stuff, but I don't follow it religiously like I did when I was in high school and college. Is Rock going to wrestle again eventually, or is his appearance at 'Mania just a one shot thing?
  11. Was planning to go down to the local pub to watch the game, but now think I may have strep throat. So just staying home and watching on TV.
  12. Possibly more exciting: Joseph Attanasio will once again be singing the national anthem.
  13. Pretty sure Selig has done it very recently...like maybe two years ago?
  14. I find it very hard to believe Yost "ruined" Sheets given that Sheets just could not stay healthy, and hasn't stayed healthy since he left the Brewers either.
  15. I thought I had heard someone from the Packers was going to throw out a first pitch, but not sure if that was on Opening Day or not.
  16. Sounds like Greinke is going to miss most or all of April now. Not good news.
  17. The more I think about it, I am leaning towards waiting for the Playbook. Being able to sync my Blackberry with one is appealing. The only Apple device I own is an iPod. It's great as a stand alone device, but at the same time, iTunes can really tick me off. I could see myself getting frustrated with an iPad pretty quickly.
  18. Bingo. "Sports talk radio" is really code for "male oriented radio."
  19. Seems like activity has picked up here in the past week or two. Maybe getting close to Opening Day has re-inspired people.
  20. Office compatibility is something I hadn't thought of, but would be handy. It's nice that on my Blackberry I can view Word and Excel files seemlessly, as well as pdfs. Would the Playbook probably be better for this (granted, I realize it hasn't been released yet)?
  21. My opinion on Michaels is that he was pretty much only good for Packers coverage. His knowledge of the Bucks and Brewers seemed really limited, and I got the sense that he didn't really care that much about covering those teams. I found his personality rather blowhardish as well. I am surprised by some of the comments regarding Trenni K. I have no idea what circumstances led to her departure from MLB Network, but saying "She obviously wasn't good enough at her job," is probably misinformed at best. I listen to the D-List quite a bit, and find that she knows quite a bit about the local teams, and seems to actually care about discussing them. She has some interesting stories from her sideline reporting days and isn't afraid to go off on someone when they deserve it. Is she the greatest on-air personality ever? Nope. But I think she'll do a good job on WTMJ. I agree with others that 540 and 1250 are better for sports coverage anyway. Gregg Matzek also deserves the promotion he is getting. From what I've read about him, he's one of the hardest workers at WTMJ. Edit: Actually, here are some comments from Kusnierek regarding her depature from MLB Network: "It was kind of a mutual decision," Kusnierek said about leaving the MLB Network. "I was a reporter and they wanted someone more studio. I didn't really want to do that, so we decided to part ways."
  22. Someone on Twitter who apparently knows Luis Cruz has an update. I talked to Cruz; he said he wanted to stay. Milwaukee wanted him to share time in Triple A with Maysonet; Round Rock everyday player
  23. I'm still sticking with my earlier prediction of 88 wins.
  24. I thought he already came on with the Rangers unless I'm mistaken.
