  1. My layman's opinion is that the Milwaukee sports scene is pretty well saturated and would probably have a difficult time supporting another professional sports team. That said, I'm not a big soccer fan but would probably go to a game or two to check out such a stadium.
  2. Latest word is that Lucroy will be out four weeks. Bummer.
  3. Bump for update.
  4. I think it mostly depends if the person who reports on the injury still hates Mat Gamel. Some of you talk like it's a big conspiracy against Gamel.
  5. I recall his injury last year was supposedly related to not warming up properly, so I wonder if something similar happened.
  6. Gamel apparently has a muscle strain and won't be hitting for a week. Hopefully this doesn't lead to other set backs with him.
  7. I agree with RobDeer. I'd rather hear a guy be honest than just give the standard canned answers we are all used to hearing.
  8. I heard Haudricourt just a little bit ago on 540-ESPN. I think he mentioned he'd be doing a story on Betancourt tomorrow, so there you go.
  9. I wouldn't have ever recognized him without the name on those cards. Also, if he had that 'stache while he was managing the Brewers, maybe it would have inspired the guys to play harder and he wouldn't have been fired.
  10. I think the funniest part is him calling out players on his team for "building mansions". Not a great way to endear himself to his players.
  11. Cruz is supposed to be pretty good defensively, and may get a shot in spring training. I doubt he'll be the starting shortstop on Opening Day, but if Betancourt struggles early, I guess you never know.
  12. Hmmm...I'll have to think about picking that one up as well. I haven't played my copy of 2011 in months though...mainly just got frustrated by the difficulty.
  13. (literally) LOL...what?
  14. Another point: Does your TV provider carry any 3D channels? I have Charter, and I don't expect them to have any 3D for a very long time (if ever). So having a 3D set would be relatively pointless for me as I don't even own any 3D blu-ray movies.
  15. I've had a beer in the Kohl's section before and no one said anything.
  16. It's hard to tell in that pic TLB posted above, but I think Prince definitely looks slimmer than last season.
  17. http://www.sportsillustratedsnapshot.com/image/full/627fe4a474662f76029a20bb1f193b96.jpg Not sure what Weeks has on his abdomen.
  18. I hear Drew Olson and Tom Haudricourt talk a lot about how hard Rickie works, both during the season and off-season. Conditioning has never really been an issue with him.
  19. I think people are going to be shocked when they see Prince this year. Edit: Prince arrived at spring training this morning, and this link confirms that Prince has slimmed down.
  20. I know if the past we've had some spring training picture threads. Let's start a new one. Here's a link with some cool pics from the JSOnline.
  21. Outlander, we're talking about the only guy in the majors to ever reach 600 saves (yes, I realize Rivera may break it, but Hoffman was first), who is pretty much universally respected and praised by every baseball person I've seen comment on him. I think you're really under selling Trevor Hoffman. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him and Griffey go in together. They might be the only two that year, but I think Hoffman is a first ballot guy for sure.
  22. Well, he'll probably be under that judging from those pictures that were floating around not too long ago.
  23. I can see the cultural aspect both ways. However, I really doubt any city in Mexico is going to get an MLB team in the next decade or more, probably much longer than that. The political and criminal situation in that country is just way too volatile right now.
