  1. Good point. Actually in my last car, I knew I was not driving and using my phone responsibly all the time. I was glancing down at my phone too much to make calls (I wasn't texting or anything like that). I ended up getting an OEM bluetooth unit installed and that fixed my bad driving habit. My current car has phone pairing and voice calling built in. I think most cars do nowadays. People need to take the time to pair their phone, though. I wonder if some just don't know how to do it, or maybe they just don't care enough to ask their dealer? I have to drive on I-94 fairly often, and it's insane the amount of distracted drivers that are on the road. I observed a man last week driving under the speed limit. As I went past him, I saw in my rearview mirror that he was eating something with a spoon! Ice cream? Cereal? I don't know, but that type of behavior is beyond stupid.
  2. Looks like Dave May's claim to fame is leading the AL in total bases in 1973 and being traded to the Braves for Hank Aaron so he could end his career in Milwaukee He also had the second longest consecutive game hitting streak in franchise history, behind Paul Molitor. They showed a graphic earlier in the game.
  3. As they did on Tuesday. At least Guerra is having a strong outing.
  4. I thought the era of that kind of sports writing was long past. I remember reading about how certain players back in the 1960s called on sports writers to stop using phonetic spellings when quoting Latin players in the past. "I hit de ball," etc.
  5. Junior Guerra gets a hit. First MLB hit in his career!
  6. Will we have a new pink bat hero today? Let's see!
  7. There's such a double standard when it comes to PEDs in MLB, versus PEDs in every other sport. It's very bizarre.
  8. Here's an article from yesterday with quotes from Manfred about expansion. He does mention Montreal and Mexico City: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25579374/rob-manfred-gives-expansion-timeline-names-two-possible-cities
  9. We just don't have the starting pitching right now. Put me in the camp that firmly believes we'll be back in the thick of contention by 2018, though. I would still trade Lucroy this year, and trade Braun if a team makes a very good offer. Lucroy's upside for the Brewers diminishes the longer we keep him this year. As far as Ryan Braun, he can be kept if Stearns never gets a great trade offer. His contract isn't really a big deal to this team, and even on a rebuilding franchise, you still need to have a star to help sell tickets, etc.
  10. The two biggest issues with any realignment scenario is that right now, we don't have a good idea where the Rays and A's will ultimately end up. Either or both teams could end up relocating in the next few years. I think Montreal will definitely get a team again at some point. There is a lot of nostalgia for the Expos, and they have drawn well with exhibition games up there. MLB probably would also like to regain the "balance" of having a Canadian team in each league again.
  11. I really don't get the love for the pinstripes. Of all the retro and current uniforms, those are probably my least favorite.
  12. Hope Davies has a good outing today. Exciting that he was called up.
  13. Seems like it might be time to adjust the lineup. Carter or Braun probably fit better right now in the cleanup spot.
  14. It was a needed move. Broxton needs consistent playing time in an environment with less pressure.
  15. Announced late last night that Keon Broxton is being sent down to AAA. Zach Davies called up to start today.
  16. Definitely not alone. I am not giving up on the kid, but he needs some time in AAA to get some confidence back. I think we could see Michael Reed by the time the Crew hits Pittsburgh. Agreed. Broxton is still young and has options. Let him get some more playing time and confidence in AAA for now.
  17. I agree. Maybe it's because I was born in 1980, but I've never gotten the nostalgia some have for the old block M. It's not like there were many good Brewers teams during that era, and it's about as plain and boring a logo as you can get. I hope the Brewers keep the current barley M and use the ball & glove occasionally. The current color scheme is great. It's very classy and looks good. Everything else can stay retired, as far as I'm concerned.
  18. Awesome come back win last night. I was extremely tired last night, but managed to cheer when that two run homer occurred, right before I promptly fell asleep on the couch.
  19. I know the feeling. And there's absolutely no negotiating on anything whatsoever. Probably the only industry where the customer can't get any sort of break through haggling, complaining, whatever.
  20. I like the new alternate jerseys. It seems slightly odd to have the ball & glove logo on both the hat and arm of the jersey, though.
  21. Gotta like Chris Carter. Fun guy to watch hit, at least so far.
  22. Agreed. Segura had that great first season with the Brewers, and we traded him for some decent pieces. He went through some terrible personal tragedy, and I wish him the best.
  23. I'd be OK with it normally, but doing it with your big power bat at the plate was a bit of an odd choice.
