    Well, a lot of the negativity in this thread got deep sixed in the past 24 hours, I guess.

    Sandy Alderson would like a word... I still wonder if it wasn't the Mets ownership that nixed the deal. Hard to criticize Alderson if that's the case.

    I like the move. I think people need to remember that other GMs aren't dumb. They know what Parra is. Getting a young pitching prospect for him is not a bad thing at all.

    I guess I don't see the urgency. He still has the athleticism to play in right field.

    I think people want to pull the trigger way too soon on positional changes like this. Until we have a stud right fielder knocking on the door, moving Braun is completely unnecessary.

    I was at the game last night...glad we left after the 3 run bomb in the 8th. Too many Cubs fans...it was definitely Wrigley North last night.

    That makes no sense at all. My guess is that the Wheeler physicals looked bad, but who really knows at this point?

    This is all because of Flores crying on the field, obviously.

    It sounds like Flores will at least be tried at 3B, based on tweets tonight. We'll see.

    I'm reasonably happy with this trade. I guess I'm a bit confused about Flores...it seems like we already have a glut of SS type players, and now we've added another one? I would have to think Segura gets dealt now. But who knows? Can't wait for the inevtiably endless "Flores is mentally weak" posts on here, since he was tearing up on the field tonight. Baseball is weird.

    He had a nice career. To be honest, I didn't realize he was still in the Majors.

    Agree with this. Nothing in the way Attanasio has operated since buying the team has indicated he intends to "cash out" soon or be a "short term" owner.

    There was a lot of speculation that the Jays would be trying around and flipping Tulowitzki. Anyone know if there's been more on that?

    Right. It's not like we're going to be competing with them this season or next anyway.

    That doesn't sound at all like what's been reported over the last couple days. The Brewers know they have a valuable trade piece in Parra and it's not like they're planning on building around him long term.

    You make the trade with the team willing to make the best offer, regardless of if it's the Cardinals or some other team. We aren't competing this year or next, so it really doesn't matter.

    A lot of what we call "Chinese food" is just a very loose American interpretation of their cuisine. Fortune cookies and chop suey are both (basically) American inventions.

    They aren't going to trade Arcia. They just aren't. That would have been like them trading Rickie Weeks circa 2004 or Ryan Braun in 2006. It's just not going to happen.

    Barrios only has about 100 innings pitched under his belt. The young man is going to take some time, and may never amount to anything I'm the Majors, but it's hard to turn down a guy with a live arm like that.

    Ramirez ended up being one of the better free agent contracts in Brewers history (yes, seriously). He gets to go finish his career with a contender, where he started his career, and the Brewers get a pitcher with some possible upside. Sounds good to me.
