  1. My best friend and bandmate is throwing out a first pitch today, representing Roundy's. I will be there and have promised to boo him if he airmails the throw!
  2. Bobble head day should not be a consideration for how you manage your roster. Agreed, but teams probably shy away from it when they can.
  3. The draft is June 8th-10th, so not exactly a long ways off at this point. I wouldn't be shocked if they start dealing guys by the second week of June.
  4. I really don't see how bringing back Melvin after this season is justified. If you want to keep him around the rest of the season so he can oversee the draft and whatever else, fine. However, the team is currently 16-33. We're two months into the season, and the team hasn't even amassed 20 wins! The Brewers are currently on pace to be a historically awful team... We're talking 2002 Milwaukee Brewers terrible. Of course, I would have fired both Melvin and Roenicke after last season's collapse, so what do I know? I will be at the game today...only my second one so far this season. I have been finding myself watching and listening to far fewer games then in years past. I still consider myself a diehard fan...but I don't feel the need to subject myself to awful baseball put on by a seemingly directionless franchise right now.
  5. Let's please remember this thread is to discuss Braun possibly making the All-Star Game and not about rehashing the PED saga.
  6. I tend to agree, though I don't pay attention enough to the national sports media to the really know for sure.
  7. From what I understand, Prince has changed his approach at the plate somewhat, and it's helped him be more productive. I haven't really gotten the chance to watch him yet this season, though. Either way I'm happy for him. We got to enjoy him for a few seasons, and everyone knew he was never going to spend his whole career in Milwaukee.
  8. Would the Giants be willing to take on all of Aramis' salary or would the Brewers have to kick in some money on this deal? It does seem like it could be a good fit though.
  9. The Brewers now have the worst run differential in baseball at -58. Does that scream that this is a team that can "turn it around" to anyone?
  10. That ball he hit that resulted in a double play was hit very hard, just right to the first baseman. I can't complain about too much there, aside from the result. He's putting up an .868 OPS this year. I would say that is worth a decent amount.
  11. If you put it that way then yes, the Phillies just recently had a 6 game winning streak. With the current make up of the team, anything more than maybe a three game winning streak feels impossible right now.
  12. I just looked it up, and the Brewers also have the second worst run differential in all of MLB at -51. Only the Phillies are worse. Does this sound like a team that can "turn it around?"
  13. Ryan Braun cannot play third base. He just can't. He hasn't played there in eight seasons. This isn't a video game where you can just move guys around the field without consequence. Braun himself said just a couple years ago (before he moved to right field) something along the lines of, "I'll play wherever they want me to, other than third base...that didn't work out so well." It isn't going to happen. Please stop suggesting it as an option. Plus, he is continuing to show a serviceable glove in right field. Just leave him there until age prevents him from fielding competently out there.
  14. The team is now 15-27. They are 12.5 games back in the NL Central. They are nine games back from a Wild Card, and there are 11 teams ahead of them right now in that race. They really should be shopping most of their tradeable players come June 1st, if they aren't already. If now doesn't scream "Time to rebuild", I don't know when it does. #sellsellsell
  15. I haven't had a chance to hear him yet...though I vaguely remember hearing him do a Spring Training game and being decent. FWIW, I think Block has gotten better, though he is MUCH better with a partner in the booth, rather than being a solo act.
  16. Yet they have two World Series wins to our none. I can deny that. By "franchise" I was referring more to the "Miami Marlins" currently owned by Jeffrey Loria, and playing in a tax payer funded art project that no one goes to. I suppose I should have been more specific that I meant their current email.
  17. K-Rod does a nice job to close things out. Nice win tonight.
  18. That franchise is such a joke. Maybe he'll work out as the manager...but wow.
  19. I merged the topic about Parker and Giannis with this thread, since we try to keep most Bucks related chatter here.
  20. Maybe Yogi Berra was right about what makes for a good manager: "A good ball club."
  21. I successfully edited the lineups in with this template! Small victories! Woot!
  22. He's way better defensively in right field than Corey Hart ever was. Maybe that's not much of a measuring stick, though.
  23. This game was out locally on Charter for about half the game. When I finally got to see it, the game was already 8-0. What a debacle. I don't understand why Scooter Gennett doesn't get sent down. There's no shame in it; he's still a young player. This team is desperately trying to dig out of a hole and stay relevant (I guess), so why continue to trot out a guy who is this unproductive right now? How can you honestly say, "We're trying to win", when you start someone like that, game after game?
  24. It's still relatively early in the season, so I don't mind giving Lohse the hook after the 8th inning. You have a bullpen for a reason. Still, what a nice win for the Brewers. How great is it to see Ryan Braun hitting like the Ryan Braun of yore?
  25. I've had a couple acquaintances mention to me that they think he's lost weight. He looks about the same as he always has to me.
