  1. I haven't been on the Salome bandwagon as much as some, but I even hope if he's dealt, it's not for a marginal pitcher like Morrow...unless it's part of a bigger deal.
  2. Something like that I would be more in favor of, but I still don't get why everyone is so fascinated by Morrow. If he can't be a starter on a consistent basis, I really do not see the point. We already have a stocked bullpen and plenty of reliever options in the minors.
  3. Yeah, you would think the NCAA would consider making some changes based on having the same two teams make the championship over and over again.
  4. Yeah, I don't think they'll make a serious effort to extend Lee. I think they'll focus on trying to extend King Felix. Younger and possibly better.
  5. My guess is he'll be competition for Kottaras and nothing more.
  6. I am personally doubting Gamel gets dealt at this point. I think he'll be starting the year in AAA. We really haven't heard any rumblings this off-season about him being traded, other than this deal for Morrow, which I don't believe makes any sense.
  7. I'm sorry, but if he's not going to be a starter (at least on a consistent basis), then why would Melvin really be so fascinated in acquiring Morrow? We already have plenty of young pitchers with high bullpen upside in the minors.
  8. Speaking of Ash, I guess he was on WSSP yesterday (or maybe this morning) and said Melvin is going to discuss an extension for Fielder after January 1st. Ash apparently said that Fielder wants to remain a Brewer. Of course, all players say they want to stay with their current teams just to increase their perceived value, but from the gist of what I heard, it didn't sound like a forgone conclusion that Fielder will be gone by 2012.
  9. Kind of funny that Zdureincik has taken chances on Hall and now Bradley in the span of just a few months. If either one works out, it's a huge win.
  10. I have had the same problem with my USB bluetooth dongle. It worked fine on my old desktop with Windows XP, but doesn't seem to want to work properly with Windows 7. I assume a driver or something will come out eventually. It's not critical for me, I just liked having it so I could surf the internet on my phone using the bluetooth network in house. I'd like to add that my experience with Windows 7 has been overwhelmingly positive so far. Like I said in the other thread, it really does seem like they took all the positives of Vista and ditched all the negatives. And it's so much faster! I'm really not a Microsoft fanboy or anything, I swear.
  11. Like I just alluded to in another thread, Gamel will probably only be traded for a legit starter. A guy whose future seems hazy at best like Morrow, it just doesn't make sense at this point. There's no enough upside there for the Brewers to move one of their best prospects. They may be desperate for pitching, but I hope not that desperate.
  12. If Gamel gets traded at all, it's going to be for pitching. There is just no way Melvin will think to deal him for another infielder.
  13. Jeff Suppan. OK, I hope not. I hope Macha just sticks Gallardo in the Opening Day role this year.
  14. Yeah, if you're going to trade Prince now, we should be getting at minimum two highly touted, high ceiling type prospects, and maybe even one or two lower tier guys. If no team is willing to pony up, then you keep him and go for it the next two years.
  15. I am not an expert, but I thought that was the best game from Redd I've seen since he came back from his injury.
  16. Slightly off topic, but I heard a rumor from someone fairly well connected that US Cellular will finally get the iPhone in the next six months. Anyone hear know anything about that?
  17. I don't know. I am not trying to sound down on Gamel at all, TLB. I just don't think Gamel has proven that he is a truly special player. Hopefully he will develop into one. I just don't see a ton of GMs out there pining for a decent fielding corner infielder that has only moderate power and seems to be currently striking out at an alarming rate. I'm not trying to downplay him, I just think if he gets traded right now his value would be more as an added throw in than as a center piece. Salome probably has much more trade value right now because he plays a much more difficult position.
  18. "I don't know that we are any deerp at SP." That's exactly it. We replaced Looper with Wolf, essentially. Other than that, what other SP depth do we have? We still have the same guys at the MLB and AAA levels. As bad as Suppan is, at least he will usually take the ball every fifth day and give the Brewers at least some chance to win, more often than not. You can't necessarily say the same about whatever current "throw 'em at the wall and pray they stick" options exist in Villy/Burns/etc.
  19. They way Gamel has hit since his stint in Milwaukee, I expect him to start the season in Nashville. I think people here are way overvaluing him right now in terms of his desirability to other teams.
  20. This talk is all well and fine, but I sincerely doubt Fielder gets dealt this off-season. The Brewers are trying to go for it right now, not rebuild. I could see them trading him at the deadline in July if the Brewers are out of it. As far as Gonzalez, supposedly Baltimore may make a play for him, but I kind of doubt it. I think he'll end up in Boston.
  21. "DON-A-GHY! DON-A-GHY!" Haha, that would be awesome.
  22. After watching that game last night, I just have to laugh at how blatantly fixed the NBA is. It's like WWE, but worse. And I now really dislike Kobe Bryant, whereas before I was just indifferent to him.
  23. I see the Brewers were one of the teams watching Escobar throw yesterday. He would be a nice pickup, but I'm not sure where they have room for him. And of course he doesn't solve the SP situation.
  24. Thanks hawing, I appreciate it.
