  1. I was thinking about this as well. Uecker does deserve better than this team at this point. But then again, we all do. If the poor play continues, the attendance will continue to plunge, and Attanasio's hand will be forced. It might be too late to start a turn around to give Uecker a chance to see a championship contender again, though.
  2. Just tuned and see he's given up 1 thru 6. Why did he look mediocre? He's saying the rest of the team is mediocre (which is frankly being a bit generous right now). And yes, Nelson has been outstanding. (edit : he just struck out Jay Bruce and has about 80 pitches through 7 innings complete).
  3. He's tried to re-join the forum under other various monikers since he was banned. I don't think the steering committee is exactly feeling willing to give him another chance.
  4. After the grand slam last night, I half expect Herrera to bat cleanup today.
  5. A sixth racing sausage, maybe? "Introducing Bloody, the British Blood Sausage!"
  6. This is the one I remember the most. I don't think it was that long ago. I believe this was a discussion more about the benefits of being a season ticket holder than it was an optimistic comment about the Brewers. No, not that difficult, just really really expensive. Not too expensive for someone claiming to make over $600,000/yr and being interested in buying part of the franchise!
  7. I think it's almost become a tradition in Milwaukee to boo former players when they return for the first time. I think some of it is more ribbing than malicious. I'm pretty sure Lyle Overbay got booed in his first game back at Miller Park, and I doubt anyone was really mad at him for getting traded.
  8. OK, everyone, after discussing with the other mods, we have decided to re-open this thread. I will say everyone has done a good job of being restrained and using this thread responsibly, which is the main reason we decided to re-open it. Please see my other note in the first post of this thread for the general guidelines. Thanks!
  9. Prince displayed competent defense at times (especially when he was keeping his weight in check), but I'd never say he was "great" defensively.
  10. He's our current bench coach. I don't like the idea of Hamilton at all. Seems like the total opposite approach the team should be taking at this point.
  11. People were already predicting this on Twitter during the game last night. I wouldn't be shocked if it happens. Something has to wake this team up. I'm not calling for a bench clearing brawl just for the sake of it...but something needs to serve as a catalyst for this team, and soon.
  12. It's OK. As I said, we'll keep this thread open for now and hope everyone can post within the guidelines.
  13. Let's see the Brewers prove they're an MLB caliber team and get a win, or at least put up a fight today. Brewers lineup today: Segura 6 Lucroy 2 Braun 9 Lind 3 Davis 7 Parra 8 Gennett 4 Jimenez 5 Garza 1 Pirates lineup today: Harrison 5 Polanco 9 McCutchen 8 Walker 4 Marte 7 Alvarez 3 Mercer 6 Stewart 2 Cole 1
  14. Don't worry...after they trade Gomez, Fiers, and a few others in late July for whatever they can get, the team will wake up and go on an above .500 run to finish the season with a record around 81-81.
  15. Hey everyone. In the past, Brewerfan.net has had vent threads that have gone on and gotten out of hand. For the past few seasons, we have tried to avoid having season long running "negativity" threads. That said, I think we're going to let this one stay open for now. Just as a reminder, that does not mean that over-the-top posts, threats, flaming, name calling, swearing, or other violations of the forum's rules will be allowed in this thread or on this forum. Please prove that we can have a thread like this open on this forum. Thank you.
  16. Wasn't Sheets booed when leaving a game due to injury late in his tenure?
  17. Now you're making me miss the guy after reading that. Glad to see he's willing to change his approach as he's gotten older. Hard to believe he's now 31 years old.
  18. Several years ago, I resigned myself to the fact that I'll probably never see the Brewers win a World Series in my lifetime. For the record, I'm 35 now. In MLB, it just seems like the odds are stacked way too high against a team like the Milwaukee Brewers. I could see the Bucks winning an NBA championship in a few years, now that they seem to have the right approach to building a franchise.
  19. I just can't believe how anemic the offense is right now. I am not ready to waive the white flag right now, but this is looking more and more like the team many of us feared it would be.
  20. This is why games are so long, not because batters and pitchers take too long to get ready. From when the manager starts walking towards the mound to when the pitcher gets to the mound to when he finishes his warm-up pitches and gets ready to go... how long does that take? And then do that 3-4 times per game? Maybe they could just eliminate warm up pitches on the mound? I don't like the idea of completely taking away situational pitching changes, as they've been part of the game for many years. I do agree it takes a ridiculous amount of time to change pitchers, though.
  21. I do remember your username. That's quite the foursome you picked! Also, I had no idea that a BF.net pillow existed.
  22. He's probably busy taking lots of flights to see games at Miller Park with his $650,000/yr income and negotiating to buy a percentage of the team.
  23. That's how I feel. If the team finishes around .500 again, Melvin and company will just say, "Well, we just need to make a few adjustments, sign a free agent 3B, and we could be contending for a Wild Card spot again next year." To be fair, they did deal Gallardo this off-season, so it's not like they've totally stood pat without thinking towards the future.
  24. Speaking of Brett Lawrie, did you see his excellent night a couple days ago? Struck out 4 times on a grand total of 12 pitches. He's a bust and end of story. He could turn things around and still have an OK career, but I don't think he's ever going to end up being a guy we regret dealing.
  25. It seemed like for a while, they were making an effort to provide more porta potties, but then quickly reverted back to having less. Maybe they decided it was a needless extra expense? Some of those lines get incredibly ridiculous, and it's not just Opening Day, either.
