  1. There's new quotes from Cashman suggesting they're not going to trade for anybody and will go with internal options. So this all may be a moot point.
  2. That part I agree with. But I don't see getting all fired up about him training in Texas. The guy lives there, after all.
  3. One way to get around the scaling issue is to get a newer AV receiver with HDMI video switching and upconversion capability. You can get a good one for $500 or even less sometimes. Just a thought.
  4. What's the big deal? He lives right over there. At this point the Brewers have washed their hands of him. We got screwed over on the draft thing from the get go, between CC and Sheets. It's time to look forward and move on.
  5. This is correct. Not to go way off topic, but I never got all the talk about trading Prince recently. We have him for three more years. No need to rush unless people feel he will really fall off production wise (which I doubt he will). Anyway, I would love to see Hardy locked up long term. I just get the feeling he probably realizes his enormous value, and will test the market in order to get his huge payday. Whether that will be with the Brewers or more likely a larger market team remains to be seen.
  6. I doubt it...I think it would be closer to 5 years and $50 million.
  7. Yeah...I ran into a bug where my guy was supposed to catch an easy pop up, but for some reason bolted for 1B, and I could not get him to stop. The base running in RTTS can also be somewhat touchy. I liked last year's base running system better. Using the left analog stick is really touchy for some reason. Also...ARRRRRRGGGGHHHH! I suck at hitting! I mean, I'm really, really bad. I could always do at least OK in the older versions, but in '09 I REALLY struggle. I seem to ground out and fly out constantly. I also hit pop ups way more than I used to. It always seems like I'm destined to hit into a double play when the situation arises. Any tips? Do I just need to mess with the sliders more? I'm getting hoarse from cursing at my TV due to this game.
  8. Hardy is a tremendous shortstop, probably one of the best in the Majors. I don't blame him for not wanting to move. If he was a hack with the glove, it could be understandable wanting him to move...but he's not at all. He hits for a decent average and has good power for a middle infielder. I would love to see him locked up for the next several years. Unfortunately, I fear the Brewers will be unwilling or unable to pay him a decent contract.
  9. My guess is possibly one holdup with Pedro Martinez is that he still wants to be a starter, where it makes more sense to probably use him as a reliever/spot starter at this point.
  10. Yes, she did say it. I can't see how it would get her in trouble, though. It was a one off comment on a relatively small time Wisconsin radio show.
  11. Well, Sony paid a ton of money to EA (if I understand correctly) to keep their franchise exclusive. It stinks for consumers, but makes the video game companies a ton of money.
  12. So it looks like he will be having surgery, and will be out 6-9 weeks. Plus, if I understand correctly, even if he does get through the rest of the season, he will have to have a second full blown surgery in the off-season. Sounds promising for a 33 year old with 8 more seasons on his contract, huh? Great article summarizing the situation: http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=525506
  13. I can confirm Macha was added. I just played an exhibition against the Nats after doing the Sports Connect roster update, and he came out when I had to take Gallardo out of the game. So I'm not sure if he only shows up in certain modes or what, but he's definitely in there now. And yes, Hoffman does not have the real AC/DC song, but a bell does sound when he comes out. A close approximation, actually.
  14. Really like hearing Selig's comments during this game, even if he isn't saying anything new or earth shattering.
  15. Yeah, even the WGN guys were basically ripping the ump for calling that check by Duffy a strike.
  16. Upon rewind on my DVR, Macha was audibly cursing at the ump, who swore back at him, then ejected him. Edit: Sorry, he was in fact, not ejected.
  17. I just saw that as well. Unfortunately I was watching the WBC and missed that.
  18. Figures it would be something simple like that. Thanks. My understanding is that they will be doing weekly roster updates, which is pretty cool.
  19. Ugh...this picture on WGN is horrible. Suppan looking OK so far.
  20. How do you initiate the roster download update exactly (on PS3)?
  21. Wife and I will definitely be making it, barring bad weather or some other unforeseen circumstance. Looking forward to finally meeting some of you people!
  22. Yeah...I'm kind of surprised to see Berkman at #10. I guess maybe I don't pay attention enough because he plays for a mediocre team, but I just don't tend to think of him as an elite hitter.
  23. Yeah, I'm DVRing both this game on WGN and the WBC game (USA vs Canada) on ESPN.
  24. If some of these guys continue hitting like they are, the Brewers might have some really tough decisions when it comes to making the final 25 man roster.
