  1. This always seems like one of those things that works for a while, and then is quietly abandoned due to whatever circumstances about halfway through the season. I remember Chad Moeller was Ben Sheets' personal catcher a few years back, and they had to quit that because Moeller's bat was so awful. Still, I have no problem with them at least trying this. Bush has enough experience and poise that it shouldn't make that big a difference who he's throwing too.
  2. Andy would be funny. Either that or they finally pull the trigger on Dwight running things (officially).
  3. It could possibly be because CBS broadcasts in 1080i (I think), which is generally thought to be worse for sports and fast motion than 720p is.
  4. As far as pitchers, how about Nick Neugebauer? I thought he was going to be a quality starting pitcher for the Brewers for quite a while. I guess injuries were the big factor there.
  5. I guess you can explain that in storyline terms, in that it's been demonstrated that he's in fact a good salesman, who is running a location having more success than the other Dunder-Mifflin branches, apparently. Yeah, kind of weak, but I think it holds up in terms of the TV show.
  6. Guy in the bottom pic is Hernan Iribarren, I believe. I _think_ the guy standing on the bag in the pic above is Lorenzo Cain, but I'm probably wrong.
  7. Guy in the bottom pic is Hernan Iribarren, I believe. I _think_ the guy standing on the bag in the pic above is Lorenzo Cain, but I'm probably wrong.
  8. Wasn't Duffy looking like a good possibility to make the 25 man roster, though?
  9. I think the key is that if it looks like it's possibly going to be junk outside the zone, don't swing. You'll take some strikes that way, but it seems like only the elite hitters are able to get good hits on stuff outside the zone anyway.
  10. Conspiracy theory: Melvin is acquiring Miranda in anticipation of trading Escobar or Lawrie.
  11. Hmmm, interesting. It does seem weird that the Brewers would acquire another middle infielder, though. I can't imagine they would have given up much to get someone like that. This should maybe be split off into a separate thread though, unless Gwynn was actually who they traded for? Edit: Actually, someone in that White Sox thread mentioned Gwynn is starting for the Brewers today, so it probably isn't him.
  12. I thought the best parts were Jim in the tuxedo, and looking like a tool in front of the new boss. Yeah, I was pretty shocked when Michael said he was quitting at the end. Lot of ways they could go with this. Maybe he'll get back with Holly, finally.
  13. For what it's worth, Haudricourt reported in his blog yesterday that Melvin told him they aren't discussing trades with anyone right now.
  14. I think I need to stop guessing pitches when I'm hitting, and just focus on the ball as much as possible. I think the guess pitch thing just throws me off too much.
  15. I haven't had a lot of chances to watch MLB Network, but still enjoy it a lot when I do. All of their announcers and commentators seem pretty good...or at worst, not annoying.
  16. I started a new career in RTTS as a lefty pitcher, and I have to say this mode is much more fun as a pitcher. I like the point of view from the pitcher's mound. It's also nice to feel like I have some more control over the course of a game. Minor nitpick: I hate how the buttons that correspond to each base change after the ball is in play. Like to make a pickoff throw to 1B while facing a batter, I press circle, but after fielding the ball I have to hit square to throw to 1B. Kind of weird. It's lead to me throwing the ball to the third baseman a couple times already. Also, on a happier note, I'm giddy every time I hear the "you suck" jeer I recorded play in one of my rear surround sound speakers.
  17. Can't you report just about any auction on ebay? Don't know if they'll actually do anything about it, but it's worth a shot.
  18. Yeah...I don't know why so many fans on the internet seem to really undervalue Cameron. If the Yankees really do have interest, the Brewers should make them seriously pay up to get him.
  19. This is one of those things a manager just toys with during spring training that he will probably never do during the regular season. I'm not too worried about it right now.
  20. Well, while I still don't fault Macha for what he said...I would say Villanueva is definitely an important component of the bullpen this season. He is one of the few guys who isn't either old, coming off an injury, or a scrap heap reclamation project (not that we have as many of those this year). He is probbaly one of the most versatile pitchers on the team as well.
  21. Frankly, I would guess that if they are not in serious contention at the All Star break, they will be a prime candidate to start dropping pay roll via trades.
  22. I don't get why the Brewers wouldn't just tell him he needs to stop playing if it's that serious.
  23. I hope these aren't the kind of aspects of A-Rod that Ryan Braun is intending to copy.
  24. Well, to be technical, the 2008 playoffs truly were a once in a lifetime event!
  25. Dang, if I had seen this a day earlier, I would have bid. Ah well. That is quite a bargain for whoever got it.
