  1. Yeah, I'm limited to US Cellular due to our business plan, and I really wish they would get the iphone. Like you said, everyone I know who has one raves about it.
  2. My sister just got a Blackberry Curve. I didn't care for it...maybe I'm just too used to my Moto Q, but I didn't like the keypad and scroll thingy at all.
  3. I just don't get the argument about potential injuries. I would say the chances of losing one of your star players in the WBC is only slightly higher than losing them in any other spring training game.
  4. I don't think the Brewers need a guy who would agree to a deal, then not return phone calls and no show spring training.
  5. Plus releasing a player (Odalis Perez) who no showed spring training. I wonder what Adam Dunn is thinking about coming to Washington now.
  6. You're only half right there. I believe a certain team from Philadelphia are the reigning World Champs. Whoops...I have no idea what I meant when I was posting that.
  7. Honestly, I keep forgetting I even have this channel. Charter has it on a really weird channel (84, I think) and not in HD. I forget it's there because it's not around any other channels I watch. Anyway, from what I have seen, I would agree with MessiahRp that it seems like the coverage is pretty even all the way around. And let's face it, the Red Sox are the World Champs and the Yankees had a huge off-season, so it's not like you can avoid talking about them too much.
  8. One thing to keep in mind, too, at least from my experience...a lot of "HR people" have more job duties than just fielding resumes and posting vacant positions. They could be occupied with other projects, because no one else in the company is designated for it, so it gets thrown on the HR person. It's a tough time economically, like others said. I run a small company, and we're getting people sending us resumes, just looking for work, even though we don't even have openings right now.
  9. Not to nit pick, but the Brewers themselves are claiming their payroll is going to be in the $88-90 million range.
  10. Oh my...that must be Stubby Clapp. I remember seeing him the year he was playing for the Cardinals, and laughing hysterically when his name was announced at Miller Park. He's a middle infielder type.
  11. Good tip. Windex and similar cleaners are only meant for windows and household glass, mirrors, etc. The chemicals in those cleaners can eat away at the screen of most televisions and be damaging to other electronics products.
  12. I'm guessing the issue is that Edmonds is holding out hope some team will need a starting OF. I bet he doesn't want to just be a backup at this point.
  13. I have a hard time imagining that as much as Weeks seems to struggle at 2B, that he would do well in CF. Nice move by the Dodgers. Just shows that there are still some bargains out there.
  14. This is one of those signings the Orioles almost had to do to prove they're not just going to be a farm system for the big market teams. He's a good player, and a core member of the team.
  15. Now if he could only stop saying "you know" every three seconds.
  16. You could always "accidentally" slice the cable with your lawnmower, which would force them to come out and fix the problem. I think that's actually what happened when I was still living at my parents...except I really did accidentally run it over.
  17. They probably figured they wouldn't need that camera on the helicopter tracking Brett Favre's minute-by-minute movements anymore.
  18. Yeah, I agree. He should have just agreed to tell MLB everything he knew immediately, maybe getting some kind or promise that he wouldn't be punished if he divulged everything he knew. Now all this back tracking and denying are making his situation look worse and worse.
  19. I heard it discussed yesterday on XM that this Yuri guy isn't really a cousin, but a family friend. Also, some reporter went down to A-Rod's home town and was able to buy three packages of steroids for like 19 bucks, at a street corner near A-Rod's family house. I thought that was funny.
  20. Well, the thing is, Mark Attanasio was quoted very recently as saying that again if they have the chance to make a move mid-season, they will. That's re-assuring to me. There's a long term plan here, where as when the Seligs were footing the bill, everything seemed to be short term.
  21. I'd give Melvin about a B - . I think there were some missteps, but a lot of things that happened this year were simply out of his control, such as the Yankees spending like drunken sailors when they haven't even sold out their first home games at their new stadium, and Sheets needing surgery. Also, Cameron is not really overpaid. Honestly, the way some fans talk about him, you'd think he was Corey Patterson or something.
  22. TV has been sold.
