  1. Part of the problem is just that an HDTV tends to amplify the flaws in the signal. But yeah, FSN's analog signal doesn't seem good to begin with, for whatever reason.
  2. Well, I guess I'll take what I can get at this point. I doubt complaining will do anything...I'm sure there is simply a limit to the number of trucks and cameras they have that can carry HD.
  3. We don't have any room for him at all. Pass.
  4. What is J.J. supposed to do? Is he supposed to tell Doug, "Trade or bench Rickie and I'll play second base?" Come on. These things usually work themselves out, somehow.
  5. I know I asked earlier, but I'd really love to see pics of these new banners. But yeah...plus it will probably just look nicer having three banners instead of two.
  6. Wait, they put up a pennant for the '81 playoff too? That's weird that they'd suddenly decide to commemorate that.
  7. We ended up getting more snow than I expected here in Fort, but less than the alarmist weather reports were predicting, I think. Of course, it's supposed to at least flurry for a few more hours here...then I guess I will take care of it.
  8. Man, I love this game. Two amusing things I saw playing as the Brewers tonight against my brother-in-law: - I hit a homer with Braun, and he did a "strut" similar to that infamous one from a couple years ago. Maybe someone already mentioned that, but it was very funny. - Prince got beaned, and totally flipped out...dropped his bat, then picked it back up and started shaking it at the opposing dugout, then got in the catcher's face. Kind of uncanny to see the ANGRY PRINCE!
  9. I just watched "Two Weeks" today. For some reason my DVR hadn't recorded it...but the nice thing about the modern digital era is that you can see new shows on places like hulu.com. Anyway, I think it's clear that Charles is going to enrage everyone in the office enough that they beg for Michael to come back...or something along those lines. Or maybe Kelly will be mad because he continually spurns her advances and somehow gets him fired.
  10. That letter had me rolling. I think this is going to be gold.
  11. I thought I remember Melvin saying he had no interest in Pedro. I could be wrong, though. Anyway, I don't think Martinez wants to settle for being a reliever, and he also probably wants more money than he is worth at this point. He'll probably end up in LA, if not somehow back with the Mets (though that seems doubtful).
  12. Well, seeing how their bullpen seems rather shaky, between injuries and bad spring training performances, it would make more sense than trying to get another starter at this point. I have no idea who they could acquire at this point, though.
  13. I've always thought the Marlins had one of the best color schemes, personally.
  14. No, I really think there's nothing to the rumors. Melvin seemed pretty stern in his comments. I know everyone on here likes to say "Melvin is really saying the opposite of what is happening," but in this case I don't think there's anything there.
  15. Now there's even a story from mlb.com that Melvin is mad about all the rumors. Says he even had to call Towers to tell him the rumor mongering wasn't coming from his side. Pretty silly how these things can spin out of control so quickly.
  16. Yeah, there's a lot of user comments. It seems to just be one moron spewing the rumors, though.
  17. Quite a bit of Peavy rumor talk on Haudricourt's blog. I don't buy into any of it, but it's surprising it's getting this much discussion, especially given the time of year.
  18. Was Hernandez that knuckleballer, or am I thinking of a different pitcher?
  19. Yeah, maybe they should just fold the team now and demolish Miller Park, since we'll never win anything again. Were you the same person saying the Brewers should become a AAA team a while ago? I would think that now that we actually made the playoffs, being a self-loathing Brewers fan would be passe. I can't remember if the Cubs have some kind of banner listing their division championships at Wrigley, but seeing how we at least won a post season game last year, I think we have more to celebrate than they do.
  20. That is what I fear at this point. As long as at least 50% of the games are in HD this year, I'll probably be happy, I guess. Hopefully they don't have a lame situation like last year where Braun's playoff clinching homer was the only playoff promo highlight not in HD. Looked pretty bush league in those promos on TBS.
  21. I was actually thinking of that earlier, yes. I don't remember what the team in the movie was called, though. Hopefully the part in the movie about the Cubs winning the World Series is wrong, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Well, at least we're now having fond memories of the guys actually playing on the team currently, and not a bunch of guys who are no longer around (aside from one or two coaches).
  23. You just need to practice more, I guess. Are you using guess pitch? Some people find it useful, but I've started to find I do better without it, and just try to focus on watching the ball. I'm swinging at less crap and getting more solid hits now. Basically it just takes time and a lot of practice. The concensus seems to be that the learning curve on this game is pretty steep, compared to last year's version. I agree that Villy is not very good in the game. Stetter and McClung both seem to be lights out, in my experience, though.
  24. Yes, I believe the current stadium is something like 40 minutes from Miami's actual downtown. I could be wrong, though. I do like the name change...no real point in still being the "Florida" team, what with the Rays also in the state.
  25. Well, to be fair, Gammons only said the one line about Bill Hall in regards to Peavy. And I don't think MLB Trade Rumors has reported anything on Peavy in almost a month.
