  1. I would not trade Bill Hall at all. He's the Brewers' franchise player at this point, at least on offense.
  2. We can't trade Miller, because he proves that free agents do sign with Milwaukee, even if it is a rare occurence. Trading him would be like shooting the last unicorn.
  3. Bah, the Brewers never land players like that. I'm not even going to bother hoping.
  4. Does anyone think we could really get Kim for just Brady Clark?
  5. I think I could live with Bonds breaking the Hammer's record if he did it as a Brewer. I know it will never happen, but just saying...
  6. I'm much more comfortable with a veteran, proven catcher than a young guy, personally. Sounds like this Zaun would be a solid addition to the team.
  7. I think we've been damned to baseball mediocrity forever. We're never going to catch lightning in a bottle, and never going to land a big worthwhile free agent. We're the Cubs, but worse, because they've at least had a World Series championship, and at least spend the money on big players people recognize and pay attention to, even if the team is badly managed.
  8. The benefit of adding Coco Crisp is that he has a ridiculous name, so he'd be an instant fan favorite in Milwaukee.
  9. I wonder what is meant by "wild". Maybe the Brewers could use someone with a little fire on their roster.
  10. Someone else will probably overpay for him. I'm all for going after him, but I doubt the Brewers have a realistic chance. Maybe Greg will want to play with his brother as coach, but I doubt that will be enough for him to give Milwaukee a discount.
  11. I agree with the general sentiment that any big name the Brewers add this off-season will probably be through trade, and not free agency. The free agent market hasn't been too favorable to the Brewers for the last few years, and I don't see why that trend won't continue. Mark Attanasio is probably going to open up his pocket book this winter, but not so much that we'll be able to sign some huge stud that the team needs.
  12. While I do think a big bat is needed on this team, I don't think Sammy Sosa is going to be the right answer at this point.
  13. I think the Giants end up keeping him.
  14. The question that immediately comes to my mind is, "What is wrong with Reed?"
  15. I can't cheer for the Cardinals, but having an all-Midwest World Series is nice.
  16. Is it too late to jump on the Detroit bandwagon? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I liked both Oakland and Detroit, but am happy to see the Tigers win. I hope they whip whichever NL team they face in the World Series.
  17. "There's always next year." The question is "When do we get ours?"
  18. You really can't blame anyone for the way this game turned out. It was just one of those close games that could have gone either way. Yost was right to use Cordero. Who knew last night would be his one egg thus far with the Brewers?
  19. I'm in favor of giving up pitching prospects for young quality hitters at this point. This offense is desperate for some pop.
  20. Time to gut the team and start over, probably.
  21. This whole team is playing like they want it to be October 2nd right now.
  22. I was there last night...pretty depressing loss, as there was a good crowd (33,000 announced). I got all excited after Nix's ninth inning homer, but it ended up being meaningless. Just a really disappointing game, especially since Capuano pitched really well. There's just no potency in the Brewers offense right now. None.
  23. Maybe the team should just have a fire sale and save up for two or three years, and then buy a championship. The Marlins have won two world championships in the span of about 12 years, so it can't be that bad of an approach.
  24. Didn't there used to be an easier way to quote people on this forum, or am I insane?
  25. Ugh...a series split. Might as well have taken the last four games off. Yeah, Davis walked a lot of guys today, but you won't win many games when your team only scores 1 run in nine innings anyway.
