  1. We sat there for a game last year...to be honest, it wasn't as exciting as it looked on TV. The seats were nice and big, but the whole area felt rundown...the TVs in front of us weren't working, etc.
  2. Yeah, I thought it was great. I like the character advancement so far in the first episode. BTW, is that a new actor playing Jaime Lannister, or does he look different now that he's all cleaned up?
  3. I don't think there needs to be a rush. Catching, even with the new plate rules, is still a fairly risky position in terms of injury.
  4. Hopefully Gennett keeps playing competent baseball and makes it an easy decision for the Brewers.
  5. I smell another case of an agent trying to drum up a market for his still unsigned mediocre player.
  6. Guys, it's OK to bring up Braun and other fan base opinions of him, but let's not rehash the whole PED saga here.
  7. There's been an urban legend in wrestling for years that there was more than one Ultimate Warrior. What actually happened is that he went on hiatus from WWF (early '90s), came back, and was a bit smaller due to not using steroids any longer (or at least as much). He also cut his hair and changed his look a bit. It was really the same guy all along, though. Anyway, yet another one I grew up watching has passed on. How sad.
  8. Oh yuck, this sounds like football talk now. I was in favor of the challenge system, but now I may have to rethink my stance on this topic.
  9. I'd probably be inclined to just use the current letters you have. I don't see a problem with that.
  10. Wow, what a great series sweep...I'm trying not to get too excited this early in the season, but it's tough right now. This team looks good right now.
  11. I don't see the team ever going away from the general blue, white, and gold color scheme. It's become iconic to the Brewers, in my opinion. The whole logo thing has been debated to death on this forum so I won't rehash it. I think they're going to stick with the two logos they have now for the foreseeable future.
  12. I just don't know if they have enough to get past St. Louis. I hate them, but the Lards are stacked. Hopefully the Brewers surprise us. Haha..."Lards." Love it.
  13. 0-5 day yesterday means he probably could use a day off. Hopefully this thing can get nipped in the bud quickly so we don't need to hear about it all season.
  14. Well said. The way some in this thread were talking earlier, I thought this was going to be a double digit loss. Fun comeback. This team will start hitting more consistently as the season progresses, and so far the pitching has been better than I personally expected (both the rotation and bullpen).
  15. And other teams don't have similar issues? Anyway, I highly doubt that Braun is the DH to "protect" him from the fans in Boston. It's not like they're in St. Louis today.
  16. I would have rather signed him than Overbay, but a few hot games doesn't a good season make.
  17. That's what pens are for. I go through 2 or 3 a week on average. I need to keep more pens handy then. In all seriousness, I was able to get it fixed today in Madison. Found a shop that had a replacement screen in stock, and they got it done in about two hours. An expensive lesson for me but, at least I didn't have to buy a new phone.
  18. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
  19. Wow, that sucks man but it happens. Sometimes you just need to get some frustrations out. Next time I'd go for a coffee cup or something. Much easier to replace Hope today is a better day! Yeah, everything just kind of boiled over in one moment. It was stupid on my part and I learned my lesson. Hoping to find somewhere that can do a repair on the phone. If not, I'll just live with it for the next 18-24 months.
  20. Yeah, the offense needs to get clicking, but there's no reason they shouldn't come around.
  21. I like 'em as long as they're only once in a while.
  22. Not too proud of myself. Was kind of having a rather lousy day...had a series of work issues followed by a fairly major technology failure at one of our locations. I got extremely angry and spiked my cell phone, shattering the screen. Barely had this phone over a month and now the screen looks like trash. Phone still seems to work. Can't really do anything about it unless I want to pay $700 for a new phone. Just really disappointed in myself and my lack of restraint.
  23. I was at the game, and of course I stood and cheered for Braun. Like JimH pointed out above, Braun has gone well above and beyond what most found out cheaters have to make amends. I mean, the guy was calling season ticket holders and personally apologizing. Who else has ever done anything like that? One fact people forget: I have heard Braun is facing some sort of court date in the future. Someone more knowledgeable than me can probably confirm that. He probably can't talk about his case in public, which is why we may never get the "full story", at least any time in the near future. Braun is on our team, and as long as he is, I'm going to cheer for him. He served his punishment and it's time to move on.
  24. If it weren't for Mr. Selig, we wouldn't be celebrating Opening Day today in Milwaukee. Thanks, Bud!
