  1. Typical Brewers thinking, instead of building up your minor league system with major league-ready players they decide not to upset the clubhouse, this is a young team different than that of the Hader clubhouse, all those outspoken voices have departed this team, this team thrives on all the players not just one. I like Willy but he is streaky, yes he plays good defense, but if all these teams keep inquiring about Willy and you can better your present and future teams, you trade Willy, and not let him go for a draft pick you may waste on a kid that goes nowhere. I think this clubhouse will be disappointed but they will move on that is the mentality of this team under Murphy.
  2. I would not have an issue parting with Mitchell, Frelick, or Weimer to open spots for a Black or Wilken at all. Perkins is sufficient in outfield, but Yelich is not ready to be a 1st base/DH, and would probably want to be traded before that would happen, an influx of some youth to the outfield would be fine with me.
  3. Wiemer is expendable, I also would keep Perkins unless you get blown away from another team, how about packaging Wiemer and Frelick for a starter? Monisterio is a streak hitter and average defender, so he could be added to a package, you have talent waiting in the wings to replace all these guys, your problem now is the log jam with pitchers after picking up 2 veterans you're not completely sure of yet, I think Hoskins may opt-in because of his down year, I like Bauer, I don't feel that Peralta is a number 1, your stopper, he is more like a number 2-3, so priority should be a controllable number 1, with expendable ready players and some log jammed minor league players, you can clear room on the 40 man and get that number 1.
  4. The home plate umpire did him no favors either, I don't know what umpire school teaches about the strike zone but with the way they are all calling the outside , high, and low strikes, I am looking forward to the electronic system taking this task out of their hands, it couldn't do much worse.
  5. No way do I trade Myers, this kid has #2 and with more experience #1 level slot in rotation. Everyone wants Crochette and he has not proved durability yet, I would go after Feede and Kopech from White Sox, helps rotation and bullpen/long reliever.
  6. Kuechel was basically here for a quick cup of coffee before he was thrown into action, let the Brewers staff work with him and give him some time to get adjusted before you write him off, I don't see him being any more than a #3 or #4 but hopefully to give the bullpen some rest eating innings, I still think there is at least an outside chance they make another pitching move outside organization maybe 2.
  7. I really like Perkins, I think that his play in the outfield makes Frelick play more at third or trade bait along with Wiemmer.
  8. The Brewers signed him to long-term in order to stabilize the pitching rotation, he never pitched more than a number 3 or 4 rotation guy, and had the same problem when he was in the rotation before the injury, Ashby will probably be no more than probably a guy out of the pen from this point on. Brewers would do well to try to get something for him in a trade and keep working with the younger talent.
  9. I would go to the White Sox and offer this to them Black, Mitchell, Adams, Boeve, and Wiemer for Fedde, Kopech, and Crochet, 5 for three deal, and maybe throw in a couple of very low minor players, Kopech can move back to a starter, long reliever or set/closer, and Fedde may be a 1yr wonder since coming back from Korea so you don't know about him and of course you get Crochet, so it is really a 5 for 2 deal.
  10. Wasn't any player on this list that trips my trigger to send valuable talent their way.
  11. Watched him pitch last night, when he is on the plate he is very good, but when he cannot find the plate like he did last night wildness and walks abound from this player.
  12. Why would you consider moving Perkins and keeping Wiemer? If I were going to trade for a expiring contract it would be Wiemer, yes he has talent for outfield but has not shown he can adjust and be a MLB hitter. Overall I think the White Sox or Marlins are better trade partners, cannot see moving young talent for older rentals.
  13. What really stands out to me is the fact Milwaukee keeps bringing in these cast-offs from good teams, there is a reason they are cut, the Brewers cannot fix everybody, I am concerned Gasser may have injury bugitis and be a IR candidate year after year.
  14. The only problem is how much money? Peralta is very streaky some days he looks like a number 1 and lately looks more like a #3. Has a history of that one big inning that always bites him in the butt every outing.
  15. I did not see any player mentioned by the article from White Sox that move needle, injured pitchers (we have those), old outfielders to sit on bench, no thank you, we need a stable starter #3 or #4, I think all other positions are okay, you have outfielders although some like Wiemer and Churios need to go back to AAA for more bat consistency, If your thinking of moving on from Adames, Ortiz was brought in for that purpose, I would try to sign Hoskins to at least 1-2 more years for 1st base, Turang has proved he belongs at 2nd, your 3rd base is possibly only real weak spot on this team.
  16. Is Milwaukee now to become the Miami Marlins of the Midwest?
  17. This kid is still a little starry-eyed to be in majors at 20 years of age, like all rookies, eventually, teams will always figure out the newbies, now he needs to be able to adjust and give pitchers a different look, lay off the outside pitch, if the ump gives called strikes so be it, you have to learn patience.
  18. If there are starter-ready options outside the organization you have to look there first, maybe a under the radar trade with all the pieces they have.
  19. I still would keep Haase and send Perkins down, if for no other reason are all that comfortable that Sanches and the wrist problem don't flair up again. Though Sanchez does hit for power, I would rethink the #2 catcher at this point.
  20. I think Miley will be ready for the start of season, with Peralta, Rea, and Miley, you have 2 spots remaining, I am not sold on Ashby being 100% yet so I would start him in the pen, I would use Hall and Gasser in the final 2 spots and Ashby in case a 6th man is needed, which is likely to happen inApril.
  21. I think I might be inclined to cut Sanchez loose, that wrist injury for a catcher scares the hell out of me and dangle Bauers as a reader pice to someone.
  22. Why is framing a pitch so important? Have you all watched games where that catcher frames the perfect pitch and depending on the umpire it gets called a ball? This happens consistently because I still cannot figure out what box constitutes a strike anymore. What is Haase's real trade value? Is Sanchez ever going to be healthy for the year?
  23. With Sanchez, injuries always seem to crop up each year limiting his availability as did this spring, with Haase only on a 1 year contract he is playing for that big contract, you have your next up and coming catcher knocking at the door in Nashville, I personally think only reason keeping Sanchez is his potential power numbers, I would go with Haase he could DH, Wiemer still hasn't figured it out at plate so going back to minors is best for him.
  24. I think it may be time to move Adames, you are blocking pathway to numerous players including Ortiz who was one of the key pieces from Burnes trade besides Hall.
  25. Williams would have to be the #1 trade candidate as far as return, Adames could still be moved at trade deadline if need be and standings of Brewers.
