  1. Yeah, he's still looking strong... No need to tempt fate with TBow tonight.
  2. [ What is Bill talking about? Turnbow is not pitching the 8th. Sheets has to get to the 9th and CoCo will close this one out. ] It would depend on how this inning goes and on pitch count, I would think.
  3. That would result an extreme power outage for the Brewers, and it would bank on TGJ being an everyday starting corner OFer, when in my opinion, he hasn't earned that.
  4. [ 3 months of an elite slugger doesn't equal 6 years of two good prospects each. ] Looking back to the McGwire trade (yeah, it was a decade ago), Oakland got a few decent prospects for Mark.
  5. [ His only real role would be as a RH hitting 1B/3B...Braun hits RH, so that leaves him as Prince's reserve. ] I see his real role as being the first right-handed stick off the bench when pinch-hitting for the pitcher. Given the talent we have on the roster, I don't think he would be doing much else, by design.
  6. [ Wigginton is less of a lefty-killer than Mench (or Wes Helms). He can play 1st or 3rd, but who cares? If he plays either of those positions much for the Brewers, the season will be lost anyway because it will mean that Prince or Braun has gone down. ] He can also play 2nd, which is important with Rickie's health the way it is. And if Prince or Braun has gone down, the season may or may not be over... but I think people living outside the area like yourself forget about the fact it's not necessarily WS or bust for every fan. Mench has a .787 OPS vs lefties this year and has been aided in the past by a friendly home stadium. Given the fact that the Brewers have one-too-many outfielders, I'd prefer that the Brewers just deal Mench. Wigginton has some career reps in LF and RF. Not many, but we're really just saying "he has to be on par with Kevin Mench devensively". I think half of us here are already qualified for that. [ Plus, Wigginton is the kind of guy who Yost would be tempted to play way too much. The first time I saw him starting for Prince would be the last day I watched the Brewers until Yost was axed. ] I don't think that's the case. Prince and Braun are fixtures... and it's VERY rare that players get 162 starts a year. Even the best players need a day off (only 6 in all of baseball in '06).
  7. [ Why would Tampa do that though? I wouldn't mind adding Wigginton, but I don't see Tampa trading him for Graffy as the centerpiece. ] There's really no centerpiece of the aforementioned deal. Graffy's a Wigginton replacement, while Aquino is a pre-arby reliever with upside. If the Brewers need to throw in a Brad Nelson, so be it. Graffy also gives them a better backup SS option than Josh Wilson.
  8. Alright, it's unanimous. I'll go get Doug on the horn http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif It's funny, I always was a Wigginton-hater, until I started working the splits, looking for a decent lefty-killer.
  9. Ty Wigginton is a guy who I think would fit nicely in the Brewers roster. He can play 3B, 1B, and a little bit of 2B, and he's a good bench bat vs. lefties, something I think we're lacking right now. He has a career .837 OPS vs lefties (.277/.350/.486), including an .842 OPS vs. lefties this year. Pena and Iwamura seem very entrenched at the corners, and while BJ Upton just strained his quad last night, he's not expected to miss much time at all (day-to-day) Graffanino's and Winggintons salaries aren't exactly a wash, but the Brewers could easily make up the small difference between them and throw in perhaps a Greg Aquino with the Rays throwing in a trash PTBNL to make it even out. Thoughts?
  10. What's bugging me this morning is the Journal/Sentinel calling me for the second weekend in a row, asking me why I canceled my subscription.
  11. I stole someone's moped on Downer once. Maybe we ALL know each other. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. [ How can that be enforced? What are they going to do, fire ya?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ] They can take legal action against you and/or the company that hired you.
  13. [ I never heard of such a thing. Is that an unwritten rule or is this actually on the books somewhere? ] It can be written into your employee contract.
  14. [ Johnny, please shut the whiners up and starting hitting like you can again. ] Please respect other people's opinions.
  15. [ im going to bet money that he puts hall as the DH and use TGJ and Gabe Gross some time in center. ] How much did you lose?
  16. Given that this is something that the guy's going to probably look back and laugh at himself, I think it's only natural to get a chuckle out of it.
  17. To me, there's nothing about Paris that says "innocent". Sex tapes, public binge drinking, criminal behavior... If she's innocent, I don't wanna see guilty.
  18. She just looks like another cookie-cutter bleach-blond bimbo to me. I don't get what the big deal is.
  19. I don't see anything wrong with going to a competitor. Remember though, the IT industry is very incestuous, so just do you best not to burn any bridges on the way out.
  20. [ To get back on topic, ColbyJack has done an awesmone job. ] Oh, I totally disagree. He should quite his job, divorce his wife, and run out on his kid so that he can add more value to the site. Because frankly, he's not cutting it.
  21. Bleet, bleet, bleet. Your agenda was obvious as bradyo, and it was obvious as gordofieldo. Patrick has a day job, just like the rest of us, and we don't claim to have the best draft coverage on the internet and a group of fully-paid independent scouts travelling the country to bring you the best information not available elsewhere. However, given his contacts in amateur baseball, and given that our aggregation of information and insights from actual witnessing of showcase events and covering them, we can certainly "add value" to our aggregation. Obviously, since you're not with us anymore, you won't be able to throw your wet blanket on a thread I started so that people could chime in on thanking Patrick for all his hard work that he provides to us, for FREE. On the plus side, you'll have more time to do something else, like perhaps go heckle a 5th grade talent show.
  22. Gordo, why would you even bring your agenda into a thread like this? Colbyjack spends a large amount of free time aggregating info and writing articles, for you, for free. A thread was started to thank him for his efforts and you take a crap on it? This must be the sixth tool of posting, eh bradyo?
  23. Colbyjack is an employee of Perfect Game USA, and therefore has access to much of the information that the blogosphere doesn't. He also attends several amateur events each year to scout first hand.
  24. [ He seems like a nice guy, and does a lot of research on news reports, but (to use a financial term) Colbyjack doesn't really "add value". ] Considering draft day is the only day of the year that brings Brewerfan's server to its knees, he must be doing something people like.
