  1. I'm assuming it'll go back up to 5 after this stretch of games.
  2. [ so do you know something brian? ] Nothing concrete... I'm currently hitting up resources though to see if I can confirm or deny anything.
  3. [ I may be reading too much into it, but i thinking something bigger will happen by 6. ] Stay tuned...
  4. The answer is..... Pete Singer.
  5. [ They said on the broadcast last night that he was already enroute to Cincy. I wonder if Melvin is trying to pull off a trade to pass Balfour for other releif help? ] They often wait until the last possible second... in case Billy ended up having something bad for lunch or something.
  6. Was Billy slated to play again in the AZL today and then catch a flight out after the game to Cinci?
  7. [ big ***** deal ] Please do not use abbreviations for cuss words here, as it is against policy.
  8. [ I know he doesn't know squat about OPS. But to be honest, I've never watched/listened to a ballgame to learn something. Rather, it's about the excitement of the game. ] That would be fine, if he didn't routinely call out people who believe in statistics like OPS as a useful tool.
  9. [ If I could go back in history, I?d like to witness: Henry Aaron breaking the career home run record. ] That's an excellent jab.
  10. [ and only use TurnbLow when we have a 15 run lead ] Coming into this game: June ERA: 1.93 July ERA: 1.29 Other teams would kill for that kind of pitching.
  11. Wow, that really sucks. We relied heavily on Dennis Getto's reviews when looking for new restaurants. Big fans.... RIP.
  12. If it's not working by tomorrow morning, I'll intervene.
  13. [ Sammy's hitting .242, with a putrid .299 OBP. Coupled with the fact that he's downright awful in the field anymore, I'd pass, even if they offered him up for nothing. ] He's murdering LHP this year.... I'm not saying I'd take a stab at him, but he's got his uses.
  14. [ I know this is a Brewers forum, but that's just plain silly. ] Let's avoid comments like these, please, showing respect to the author of the original statements...
  15. Maybe he just missed that spot...
  16. It's a lot of names, but not a lot of pieces the Brewers can use. Basically, only the relievers and maybe the starters are of use to the Crew.
  17. This conversation is steering into the realm of IGT discussion... *nudge*
  18. [ I can appreciate the argument that CoCo should have been brought in last night after Balfour allowed a runner or two ] To do this, you would have had to have Coco warming up.
  19. Gotta go with the "smell testers".
  20. [ I wouldn't have minded seeing that happen, but well all know how the Brewers staff feels about bunting, let alone in a squeeze situation. Would it have been better to pinch run Gwynn for Hardy in that situation (or Weeks for that matter) and try the squeeze with Mench or Gwynn? ] Gwynn's probably the best bunter on the team. If you PR'd Gwynn for Hardy, you: a) have no shortstop b) signal the other team that you are going to squeeze
  21. [ The Reds will move Dunn for peanuts. ] From jul 20: The problem is that the Reds' asking price so far has been too steep. They've asked that top hitting prospect Jarrod Saltalamacchia be included in the trade, and the Braves don't want to deal Saltalamacchia, who may be their regular first baseman for the rest of the season. *insert joke about Salty peanuts*
  22. [ you know, I'm not saying that Ned didn't screw up, but why is no one blaming Estrada for having a horrible AB, and then walking to first ] If you look at the IGT, it's been an Estrada hate-fest.
  23. [ It seems as though you would want to use your superior reliever (Cordero) when there's less margin for error -- and that's when the game is tied. ] The problem is that your % of taking the lead in the next inning is still less than favorable. If you're presented save opportunities over the next few days (and looking at the matchups, it's favorable that it will occur), you're risking a lot for something that's far from a sure thing.
