  2. There's database issues with the server right now. It'll be fixed by itself in a few hours, I believe.
  3. So when Hall comes back on Monday, who gets benched? Hart or Menchkins?
  4. [ The thing is every home game is important because we know they aren't going to play good on the road, no matter who they are playing. They need to win the home games, especially against the Giants. ] We can't count on the Brewers to sweep every team at home, even the rotten ones. If the Brewers lose the series, I'll be disappointed. But until then, they haven't lost the series.
  5. There's still a long ways to go. The current winning PCT has the Brewers winning 91+ games. I don't think we honestly have the talent on the team to win much more than that. ...and conversely, unless the Cubs swing some kind of huge deal (which doesn't sounds likely due to the impending sale), I really don't see them keeping this up. Patience... A large number of people wanted to jump off a cliff after the no-hitter as well.
  6. Nice 3-run homer there by Aramis Ramirez. Sheesh.
  7. Why would you tell opposing teams that you would pitch around a certain player? That's just showing your hand. At least now you have somewhat of an advantage on some unintentional-intenional walks.
  8. Otsuka's MRI revealed only inflammation. He reportedly won't be activated before the deadline, but if you see the Brewers trade for a PTBNL from the Rangers, I would assume it's him.
  9. [ and that's why you run this site. ] That's right, all of us elite celebrities shop at Target.
  10. [ After all, the visiting team has won every series this year except for the last one, and we would've won that if not for coco's implosion in game one. ] While that's been true so far, there's no reason to expect that reverse trend to continue.
  11. [ Last I checked, Soriano and Ramirez are not bums. Neither are Theriot or Fontenot. Plus, Jones has been coming on as of late. ] No one said that the ENTIRE lineup was bad... but that bottom of the order is pretty pathetic.
  12. From BP's Under the Knife: The Brewers aren't thrilled that Yovani Gallardo is starting in place of Ben Sheets. They were hoping that using him in relief would limit his innings. They don't have a choice now, and as good as Gallardo has been, it's proof of just how much the Brewers value their young pitcher that they don't just run him out there. ... LINK Nice to see the Brewers getting some props on their handling of Yo so far.
  13. [ This quote is from a chat today by Jerry "The Idiot" Crasnick. I just found it funny considering on the Reds board they were talking about only accepting a Braun-like player back for Dunn. Why are the people in the media so clueless? ] The truth's obviously somewhere in the middle. The K's are somewhat of an issue, despite the fact that they're overblown by a lot of people. The defense is a legitimate concern, and the fact that the second he's traded, he's on the route to FA, his trade value is diminished. Probably something similar to the Carlos Lee deal last July, is what I would expect... He'd be ideal for a team who needs a DH or a 1B, but of course, still nice to have for a team with LF issues.
  14. His SB%, one of his better assets, has pretty much gone down the crapper.... probably due to less than optimal health. Given that we'd have to actually give up something of value to obtain him given the fact that he's .309 and there's going to be at least another GM that values BA more than Melvin does, I'd stay away.
  15. [ should the brewers go after him? ] Cantu's been absolutely miserable for the past two years. If we're looking for a Weeks upgrade, I'd stick with Counsellino over Cantu, easily.

  17. I saw Bill Schroeder at Target.
  18. [ I think he has succeeded using name recognition to get his foot in the door of the industry. There are lots of good ballplayers from small private universities. ] Do you think he should step aside from his ambitions of being in the baseball industry because some people believe he's using it to his advantage?
  19. [ Lots of people would love to work in the industry; no doubt name recognition has given him a competitive edge. ] He was a decent college player and is just an intern. I really don't think the Brewers offered him the internship because of the baseball he caught when he was a kid.
  20. [ This was surprisingly easy! Shortest "Google won't save you" ever? ] Tied... We had another first-post win as well....
  21. [ This kid should be banished from baseball as an example to all that making mockery of rules should be the basis for your future success in life. ] I'm an Orioles fan too, but the blame lies on Garcia and the media, not on Maier.
  22. CORRECT. Well, that turned out to be easy.
  23. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f1/Jeffmaier.jpg/180px-Jeffmaier.jpg Did you know that Jeffrey Maier, the infamous kid who caught the "home run" over Tony Tarasco's head in game 1 of the 1996 ALCS is currently interning as a scout for our beloved Milwaukee Brewers?
  24. [ i never thought a major-leaguer could be a PTBNL. i'd always thought that if PTBNL was part of a trade, it couldn't be just anybody, but that it had to represent one lower-level prospect. ] It can't be in the same league... but since Texas in the AL, it can happen.
