  1. Why? just look at him! That is why! no one looks more like a Superstar on this team than Pratt.
  2. The Brewers really blew it with Chourio not being signed here. Jackson really wanted to play with his brother here and we told him we were going after Jackson's brother only to act as if they would not be able to draft him despite it being realized by everyone outside of Milwaukee. The excuse they used for not taking that pick was weak as heck if you ask me. The Brewers had the Chourio brothers who wanted to play together in Milwaukee for a decade or longer together right there for the taking and they passed him up and used a really fake excuse to make it seem logical to Jackson . They told Jackson they did not believe they were allowed to pick him... now that is ridiculous . I do not believe brother Chourio is as good as Jackson but he is not far behind him. having both of them here would have been a wonderful storyline for a decade of better and the Brewers should have bent over backwards to make this happen and did not. That was the biggest failure of 2024 . Not getting Chourio #2 into the fold in Milwaukee could prove to be a long lasting mistake that burns us down the road. Stories like this do not exist in baseball anymore and having them both on the team would sure bring even more hype to an already big time players career. Jefferson and Jackson on the same team would bring a World Series here on duty alone. The story would have carried this franchise for year.
  3. I am begging you and others who have that Doom and Gloom thing to lose it! I want you all to know that we should stop doubting this and accept that this is a very good Brewers team with a big future here. Everything said by our manager is being taken wrongly . He did not say Yelich was not going to be ready he said they were going to play it by ear and see what it looks like the same as Woodruff. Who today announced everything Murphy said was pretty much dumb and made everyone fearful for no reason. I get why you are sceptical with Brewers baseball being a exercise in doom and gloom. We are only lacking in buy in as a franchise and it is the fans lack of being able to accept this team is actually in a good place that is currently holding this team from bigger wins. We come together and buy in here we can win things we never have. Join me!
  4. Why is the faith blind? We have the best catcher in baseball, We have the best pitching coach in baseball, We have a pitching centric Manager and we have more talent coming into 2025 ready for Big League than i can remember. I have no doubts about Tobias Myers, Tobias Myers showed he has Big League chew all day and will be one of our pitchers for at least 5 or 6 more seasons here. Fear nothing and do nothing but support this kid! He has what it takes and we should be behind him all the way. I have no doubts about Tobias . Freddy I have doubts .. Like major glairing doubts but given he is now playing for his bigtime contract money his 2025 could be the best in his career if he corrects all his mechanical issues. Freddy looked like a guy about to come apart in 2024 and had the worse season I have seen him have in years. He got hit a bunch last season and every start was a struggle. Aaron Civale ..No questions here. He is Aaron Civale . he will never win awards but he will eat up 6 innings each game and probably not get the team in trouble while he does it. You have questions about Nestor Cortez ? You would be the only one! Nester is NASTY and his pitches are still the kind to sit batters down! He instantly is the best pitcher on the team who gives this team a real shot at pennant play. No questions with Nester . I still cannot figure out why Brewers fans are not more excited for getting this pitcher here even if it is only for 2025? Nester gives the Brewers a Superstar pitcher who has playoff experience with more than enough to carry this entire unit through the 25' season. Nester was a huge pick up this offseason and everyone is pretending it's not a big deal. Nester is a big deal here. I love that he is part of the our group this season and you will too when you see him in Blue. He wins 20 games for us this season or more . As for #5 you can question. Not on a talent level though because the Brewers have more to offer starting pitching in 2025 than maybe any other Spring. Henderson has super high upside if he adds another pitch to his mix we have the long term replacement for Freddy and the 2026 pitching flip flop that is coming. I do not know if he will be great but he has the tools. Lucas Patrick looks like the Tobias Myers of 2025. I think when he steps onto an MLB mound he will not be leaving anytime soon. His lack of hype surprises me as he has a skillset that looks to play here. He looks like he can outpitch Colin Rea. Time will tell but between these two guys I believe they have their other pitcher already here on lockdown. Even if Civale end up with troubles I think there is more than enough talent here to replace the entire rotation and still keep the games ahead of themselves. I still am holding out hope Jacob starts the 2025 season with his pants on fire and forces his way into the 2025 rotation but not starting on the 40 man says he will probably be in AAA through 2025. The Brewers like to bring pitching up after they have a full season on AAA mounds. Mis could push that by having a strong spring with low walk ratios. His stuff is so good that only Roki Sasaki and Paul Skenes have better stuff than him starting the 2025 season. IF Jacob Mis comes into Spring Training with a mission he could put Milwaukee on the map and give them a weapon they have not ever had in the starting rotation . Mis can be the best pitcher in baseball upon maturation. He was not close to being that good in 24' but he also was not that far away from it. He would have a bad game here and there as most 21 year old pitchers do but most of the time he is not hitable . If he limits his bad outings in 2025 the Brewers may be in a place to brag . As for the bullpen . The Brewers have the best bullpen prospect in baseball in Craig Yoho and he is not even on the 40 man this Spring. That is how good the bullpen is for this Crew. MeGill was proven last season to have the closer genes. The Brewers did not improve when Williams came back with closing games and even got a bit worse with Devin closing over MeGill. MeGill says he has a sweeper this year too and if it moves like his Curve the Brewers will sport the best closer in baseball in 2025 with him in that position. MeGill is one of this teams true weapons and he get next to no credit for it. Jared Koenig is still awesome, So is Aaron Ashby, and Hudson was still a sub 2 ERA guy even when he was demoted to AAA last season so I expect bigger things from him in 2025. Nick Mears was a STOLEN superstar who got the best gift of his career with that trade last season. Putting Mears in this coaching situation puts him in a place that could make him into a weapon that no one will be able to hit. Nick Mears is one of the sneaky best trades of the previous season and he offers us more upside than anyone in the bullpen. Mears can be very special. Payamps and Elvis both are solid bullpen guys who on other rosters would be looked at as Stars. While here they are kind forgotten pieces who make the bullpen go. I do not see them going backwards and will ensure our pen has right hands who bring the stank. Questions are for the losers out there. We have a lot of good options here as pitching is our thing so my questions are not out of the rotation or the pen. I think Chris Hook has made it so there are no real questions to ask much from our pitchers. He won't let this group fail and that is all I need to know.
  5. ATTENTION AP REPORTS DL HALL HAS INJURED HIMSELF AGAIN ALREADY!
  6. I think they had one of the best 3rd basemen in the entire NL with Ortiz last season. I think Putting Ortiz and Turang on that side of the field together will be special . Durbin does not have 3rd base chops if you ask me . His arm is not place near where Ortiz or Dunn have there. Durbins arm reminds me a lot of Collins who can play Shortstop but the arm is a bit less for the Hot Corner. Durbin seems like 2nd base to me and with him there you would see 0 drop off from Turang who is the obvious choice for Shortstop. The move is easy if you ask me . It is simply moving Turang to Short, Ortiz and Dunn can swap at 3rd and Dunn at 2nd if we live in a perfect world that is. If Dunn can be the player I believe him to be then this entire thing becomes so easy it's silly. If not their will have to be a bunch of movement to make 3rd and 2nd playout but all options are wonderful options there and I have no fear Shortstop will be a better defended position in 25' than in 24'. It will be critical the Brewers stay healthy this season to compete. They have all the pieces to be champions if they are not playing the injury game through 2025. The truth is they are LOADED with talented players who can make this infield into one of the best units in all of baseball . With a healthy Dunn, Yelich and Contreras much offense will be produced from all spots but the defensive infield should be poised to win more awards by seasons end. Like I said in other post here, Spring training this year has more stories that ever and the answers we get after spring this season will define the 2025 Brewers season well beyond the 2025 season. Big year with unfinished business! I love keeping the core team together for a change!
  7. I think Sal starts infield for every other team in baseball . Have you ever taken the time to see him play infield? He is a Golden Glove Shortstop too who would be amazing infield. I think the Brewers think the same about him too which is why Sal is the next plug and play guy for the infield and has an infield and outfield glove at every game.
  8. Move him to 1st base. I dunno about full time DH. If his back is fixed it is fixed and he is a pretty good outfielder. But if it helps his stay on the field so be it. I highly doubt it has been playing defense that has kept his back sore all these years. His back problems come directly from his swing. You can see him throw out his back while swinging at the All Star game last season. I dunno . I just want him healthy for a stretch run because a healthy Christian Yelich puts us over the edge last season again the NY Mets and that would hold true in future big moments. Yelich is too good to lose this way for all of baseball . He could be a legendary player without the back issues.
  9. I am more interested in his sweeper getting better. Changeup is a stupid pitch unless your name is Devin Williams or Craig Yoho. I so love the Tobias Myers love . Remember it was changing him or attempting to make him have new things that held him in Farmball this long. I say just ride out what was 2024 and keep what he mastered together . I think Tobias can strike people out at a very high clip with his pitch mixes and it all plays off his 4 seam. His 4 seam sets up every pitch by getting at least one whiff each AB on that pitch and getting the batter to think he can correct for it later in the AB. His Changeup is nice too make no mistake. I just think Changeup is a pitch so they have more than a pitch. It is when they start adding a sweeper or curve to the mix that they are really feeling it .
  10. Payne by all aspects looks much better than his draft profile across the board. His power and contact rate is nice and I really look forward to him moving up the system this season. He has things going on that really make him more than interesting when it comes to what he can become . He looks like he has Brandon Nimmo's swing style. The Brewers draft well lately and Payne could turn out to be one heck of a find.
  11. I think the Brewers will put up a big season again in 2025. No one seems to be able to gauge the reasons this team wins games lately and this is no different . The projected about the same for last seasons team and I like where the Brewers are right now and believe they have a better team than the 2024 team in progression alone. The best part about predictions like this is that the Brewers always prove them wrong. 2025 will be no different . I have faith in this Crew.
  12. I think Haas is a weapon no one expects to be good who could really tear the leather off the ball this season when he plays. He was one of the best hitters on the team when he got his shots and he catches well too. I learned along time ago Brewers prognostication is written by people who must hate the Brewers .
  13. WE need him to be fixed and his entire story in baseball is completely hinging on the success of this fixed back. So you are darn right baby steps. The chance of a fully renewed Yelich is much to enticing to risk on rushing him into things if it's not the right move. He reminded us all what a fully charged up Yelich looks like when he was feeling good last year and I really hope this surgery fixed him. He deserves to put a hurt on his legacy with some superstar numbers in the coming years.
  14. When they clock his bat speed and see him with live AB you can worry about this. If you do not remember the Brewers Thrived without Yelich in the last half of 24'. They can survive him easing into things if that is the best course of action. I think Yelich will be okay though. The surgery he had is very durable and it had a very short recover time. I would not worry about this until it is a reality. Yelich will be feeling great and when he is feeling great he is near impossible to keep out of the action. I am all for letting him not rush it however. If there is a path that leads to a reborn Christian Yelich who can swing away without worrying about throwing out his lower back all the time it will bring some very special seasons in the very near future and I for one am all for that!
  15. If you could not see how much the Cubs chose to invest in players this offseason you are not looking and the Central is not going to be a cakewalk in 2025. I believe the Brewers are still the best team in the Central with the Cubs building things to challenge us soon enough. If Bregman chooses the Cubs and it sounds a lot like a very real possibility at this point it may tip the scales for me to despise the Cubs at a very new and very real way I have never experienced before. The Cubs cannot win with Craig C at the controls . We must keep them as laughable as their team name and if the sign Bregman that makes things a bit harder to pull off. He is also talking to the Red Sox and Tigers so we can hope he does not darken the doors here. Bregman would hold up the Cubs big prospect so that could be a bonus and maybe even put that kid on the market if they sign themselves a big money free agent like Bregman. The enemy is stocking up for a better shot at the champs. The Brewers are not behind the Cubs even with a Bregman signing. Though it sure will make things more interesting if they do make this signing down there.
  16. And yes I did say AAA when I meant 2023 Farm ball AA and AAA. In total batting .273 in 2023 between AA and AAA. 21 Home runs OPS of .902 , drove in 78 RBI, and Walked 82 times with 16 stolen bases. I stand by my statement and I really think Oliver Dunn can be a very active batter for the Brewers in 2025. I believed in Dunn when they got him and I still think he has MLB Chops. I do not appologize for being positive about this team and its current roster. Dunn has high upside ability and it has been injury as his biggest issue to this point in his career not a lack of talent. 2024 was injury problems again but you could still see the power he holds in his hitting even in the small sample size we got in 2024 . I expect good things from Dunn, Mitchell and Durbin this season. I like where we are at.
  17. I dunno if this will work but here is some highlights of his 2023 season with the Phillies.
  18. You have no argument from me that Patrick is the sneaky possible Star pitcher who carries low an ERA his entire career because he knows how to use his pitches very well . I watch him pitch and cannot understand what we are waiting for or why there is not more hype around his time for a call up to the Bigs. he seems like a guy who can be a solid rotational pitcher bordering on special with room to even touch Stardome. He looked better than Civale ever did to me at least but we waited a full season more to get to this point and let other pitchers I do not like much (Rodrigues) have their go last season instead. I am sure they had good reason for the holding him up and I believe injury had something to do with it . He has me excited to see his Spring into summer. I think he is the most ready to take that other rotational spot in 2025. The one I feel needs to add one more pitch the most is Logan Henderson. He like Myers last season only was said to have only two main pitches at first glance coming up. After we saw Myers in real baseball games it seemed obvious to think the Brewers had him working on his two best pitches in AAA at the end of 2023 and the start of 2024. This made it seem to those who track data as if he only had the two really good MLB level pitches. When he got up here we saw he had more than that and by the Colorado series he had a complete 4 pitch mix that all seemed to play off each other well. I am guessing this will be a similar path for Logan Henderson who everyone says is a two pitch pitcher. My guess is the Brewers really want him to work his two best pitches so his other stuff can be threaded in after he gets himself established on an MLB mound. No matter how it shakes out I am pumped to see the entire thing play out . I love new pitching so 2025 should be a fun season and we should see superior pitching through all the levels of Brewers baseball . Good chatting sir and I appreciate your numbers and your time thanks for the topic and article.
  19. I learned this lesson with Freddy. Just do not expect anything out of him and you will never be let down. Anytime we put expectations on to him he underperforms. So just know he will be good enough to be in the rotation with the possibility of brilliance and see where he takes it. Otherwise Fred will make you pull your hair out.
  20. Tobias pitched one wacko wild pitch against the Mets in the playoffs that hit 98 but was "Just a bit outside".
  21. Tobias 4 seam fastball averaged 94.1 mph all season long. I do not know where you got that 92 mph number but that is not the average I have on him. His fastball was never as slow as 92 and he touched 95 all the time especially after his White Sox moment. I was a big Tobias Myers fan last year and I never missed a game and have watched his film this offseason a lot. His 4 seamer is best at 94 and seems to lose some of its wiff ability when he ramps it up over that. Though his 95 stuff plays its not the same pitch . When he does tick it up to 95 though it seems it baffles hitters. That lift he gets on his 4 seamer is special. I can see it bringing more strikeouts as Myers gets even more sure he belongs here. I think he will have a nice career moving forwards. I think Tobias is one of the guys who saves the Brewers when they lose Freddy and need to start anew in the rotation . I really see big things for Myers here in Milwaukee and do not expect him to fall back. Time will tell but for now he is my favorite young pitcher in baseball and I believe it will stay that way when he shows out this summer! Hudson baffles me . His dip in velo you mention is not something I noticed at the time. His pitching seemed to look about the same when they sent him to AAA as it did when he was pre All Star Break . Unlike Myers however I cannot say for sure I know he did not have that low of numbers on velo because I simply did not see a reason to look into it. To me he seemed fine when they sent him down. I saw a pitcher who had one or two bad nights against the Dodgers who abused him but outside of a handful of relief games hudson was a sub 2 ERA player right up until they sent him down. I think Ashby being reborn as a bullpen guy had a lot to do with how they handled Hudson at the end of 2024. I cannot believe he does not just step into 2025 with fire in his belly and ready to prove the world wrong. Hudson was not just good for the beginning of 2024 he was our best reliever for the first 50% of the season. He is really a guy you have to watch this Spring because he can be a real weapon for this franchise at his best. DL Hall is a guy who can completely make the rotation in 25' . He has enough to start but has shown long outings can sneak up on him. Everyone wants to see him as starter because his bullpen stuff is just not that special . If he has a strong Spring and takes #5 it makes things easy for the Brewers . I have little faith but leave room for him to surprise me. I think Patrick and Henderson are eyes on names you have to watch this spring. I think Patrick is better than most people give him credit for. If Henderson can find a 3rd or even 4th pitch we have something. Myers found more pitches during the season last year so it is not out of the realm of possibility Henderson can find another pitch or two to make himself into a solid starting pitcher . I think Jacob M is destined for a full year in AAA. But with a outstanding spring where walks do not haunt him could force the Brewers to bring their star pitcher into the rotation before anyone expected. No one needs to be watched closer than Jacob. Great article thanks for it.
  22. Dunn was great in AAA for his last franchise before we snagged him. He was a pro playing semi pro ball. His 2024 was a mess and cannot be a judge of what he can do here if he is feeling it and healthy. Dunn is a nice batter with power and he plays a pretty good 3rd with a rocket right arm. Dunn solves problems if the Brewers move Ortiz to 2nd and Turang to Shortstop. However Ortiz proved to be a much better 3rd last season than anyone thought he could be. So if they move Turang keeping him at 3 might not be a bad choice . However a Durbin 2nd base would not be a bad choice because Caleb Durbin gets on base! I think he can set up a lot of runs for this team is he gets starting work. He may not be powershot man but he will put himself in scoring position a lot if the put him on 2nd. Dunn can rotate into the lineup and be a batter when needed but he thrives on playing himself into rhythm so keeping him in the lineup is probably the best way to get the most out of Dunn. Dunn can be amazing and put up 20+ home runs through a season of shared starts but could be even more with a every night starting job at Hot Corner. The best thing about the 2025 Brewers roster is the fact they have answers at every position. From 1st to pitching they have many options to fill holes and waiting to see if the guys we built work out seems like the right move for the Brewers in 2025 . The market stinks. The players available stink at the MLB level . the prospects you would want to bring in cost us equal prospects to acquire and we have no reason to offload anymore talent. The Brewers built something here through the Farms. They have a TON of young talent who is ready to show up. Stick stay and make it pay and I think this 2025 Crew can outperform the 2024 team with a bit of health and luck on our side.
  23. I think the Brewers have been preparing for Adames to leave for a long time and the people they want infield are already here. Caleb Durbin is a very good player who is going to be an instant fan favorite. While few in media stories can describe him as he plays he fits in our system like a glove. I do not see what is available out there as better than what we currently have. Shopping for the leftovers when you have your own homegrown future Stars you go with the youth. 2024 they stopped plugging holes and it gave us the best season in recent memory. I believe in this Crew and think we have more than enough to overcome losing Adames. Dunn is will have to live up to his ability to make that all up in house for sure. I am still betting Sal brings more power to 2025 than previous seasons I also think Blake will have more potent bat power in 2025. The biggest improvement from 24' to 25' is Jackson Chourio. Chourio should be amazing every season from here on out. Each year should prove more and more impressive as he gets older and the sky's the limit for Chourio. He could lead the NL in home runs for all we know. Garrett Mitchell is also going to have a big year if he is over the injury bug. He seems destined for .300+ Averages and many big hits as long as he stays on field. Joey O also showed he can hit near .300 as he did through the beginning of the 2024 season before he hurt himself. I do not like any of the people you named. They are not better than what we already have. IF the first month goes by and this team seems like it needs a bat then you make a move but for now I believe this team is pretty well built. It does not need to window shop because it sells the best stuff.
  24. Oliver Dunn is being overlooked, Chourio is going to go off in year 2. Mitchell is going to have a big season, Caleb Durbin can hit a lot of balls. There is no one available worth starting over who the Brewers have on the roster right now.
  25. The predictions were similar last season and the Brewers do not look worse off in 2025 than in 2024. They look better and do not need to shop around to do anything. They have more than enough here to win 100 games.
