  1. I get why you are entertained by this article. I took the info differently somehow. I did not see a pitcher who used tricks to win . I saw a pitcher who figured out that his **** plays in The Bigs for the first time ever and I saw that magic moment where a prospect becomes a weapon at the highest level flip on light a light switch. He was so dejected after that White Sox outing that sent him down for the final time of 2024. When he came back he pitched a relief game before quickly becoming the Ace of the Brewers rotation. After he came back I saw something more than explainable numbers. I saw that magic moment in sports where the impossible became possible and a player became a fan favorite superstar like a flash. The story of Tobias Myers to me personified everything I love about this game. So simplifying it down to the base reasons someone on a laptop thinks are the reasons for Myers success sullies the whole thing for me a little. Sometimes the reasons are so simple and straight forwards they do not need deep explanations to make sense. Sometimes a player has something touch them beyond X's and O's and the MAGIC of Baseball happens and that is how I see Tobias and his start to his MLB future. I get the understanding and the need for it by people to make sense of all that baseball is but sometimes I just like that majesty to stick around a bit longer. With Tobias everyone was just so worried he would regress and everything we were seeing him do would be for nothing. So we shut up and tried our best not to talk about it, not to analyse it and not to question it for fear it would shut off and leave us without our new Ace pitcher. I guess I just wanted to hold onto that as long as possible before people started trying to make reason of it all . The best part about Myers being fantastic was that he was never supposed to be . Anyways that is my 2 cents. Great post through and through though. Go Brewers !
  2. No chance . He is developing his pitching and his change is a great pitch to add to the mix but I like where his sweeper was landing and his 4 seam is the best pitch of all the pitching on the roster. the way it carried through on pitches should eventually make Tobias a high strikeout pitcher. I love all of Tobias Myers pitching tools. I just cannot ever get on board with a changeup being a best starting pitchers best stuff. A changeup only works if it has the fastball to play off of and Tobias has a doozy.
  3. Tobias said he was done. He said that he gave 1000% and his last AB was his last of the day and he had no gas left. I have no issues with where they pulled Tobias that day because it all worked to perfection right up and until it did not and it had everything to do with Devin Williams and the Mets seemingly knowing what pitch he was throwing before it left his hand. We worked a perfect game through that playoff. The Mets scored nothing much right up until Williams let Pete play with his fastball. Tobias will have more meaningful playoff games in the future but he did more than enough for his first one. The 2024 playoff was a hard pill to swallow. I still have never been more proud of the Brewers than I was with that team. We fought like Champions and I believe 2024 opened the door to bigger things. So many times after playoff loses I felt defeated and without hope for what is to come. Right now after that game all I feel is that there is unfinished business and that I cannot wait to see this through! Go Crew !
  4. Who said anything about conspiracy? Find me any legitimate injury update information on anyone and I'll buy you a cookie.
  5. The Milwaukee Sentinel and Google Sports, Brew Crew Ball and others are reporting this as if the Brewers are who released this Spring Training roster for 2025 and the also make sure to delineate the difference between a Spring Training roster and the 40 man in the articles. All of the articles say it was the Brewers who put the information. This info says this is the 2025 Spring Training Roster not the 40 man carry over and that Gasser is available for Spring training. He was hurt 3 weeks later than Wade Miley and he is ready to pitch already. https://www.brewcrewball.com/2025/2/3/24358101/milwaukee-brewers-announce-full-spring-training-roster
  6. The lack of update information on players rehabbing is nuts. Robert Gasser is on the list of players coming to Spring Training and is on the active list. Has anyone out there heard anything on an updated timeline of his recovery? If Gasser turns out to be that far ahead of schedule on recovery the Brewers pitching situation is in the best place it has ever been in team history. I am sure ready . Here are the 61 players on the Spring Training Roster for 2025. Spring training this year is simply must see tv. Pitchers (31) RHP Grant Anderson LHP Aaron Ashby RHP J.B. Bukauskas RHP Aaron Civale LHP Nestor Cortes RHP Deivi Garcia LHP Robert Gasser LHP DL Hall RHP Logan Henderson LHP Bryan Hudson LHP Tyler Jay LHP Jared Koenig RHP Easton McGee RHP Nick Mears RHP Trevor Megill RHP Jacob Misiorowski RHP Tobias Myers RHP Vinny Nittoli LHP Thomas Pannone RHP Chad Patrick RHP Joel Payamps RHP Elvis Peguero RHP Freddy Peralta RHP Carlos Rodriguez RHP Elvin Rodriguez LHP Connor Thomas RHP Abner Uribe LHP Grant Wolfram RHP Brandon Woodruff RHP Craig Yoho LHP Bruce Zimmermann Catchers (7) Jorge Alfaro William Contreras David Garcia Eric Haase Darrien Miller Jeferson Quero Ramón Rodríguez Infielders (13) Jake Bauers Tyler Black Vinny Capra Raynel Delgado Oliver Dunn Caleb Durbin Rhys Hoskins Ernesto Martinez Jr. Andruw Monasterio Joey Ortiz Cooper Pratt Anthony Seigler Brice Turang Outfielders (10) Jackson Chourio Isaac Collins Sal Frelick Jimmy Herron Brewer Hicklen Luis Lara Garrett Mitchell Jared Oliva Blake Perkins Christian Yelich
  7. agreed . I think this is the best possible rotation for the Brewers and I think they could lose Civiale and still be the best group outside of the Dodgers . I think Chad Patrick sticks and I think he won't need to wait to get his spot after Spring . I think Myers builds on his 2024 with as stellar #4 in 2025. I do not think he falls back or becomes less effective as a pitcher. In my opinion Myers has it and is well in command of his abilities right at the moment. Freddy, Cortez and Woody with Myers and Chad Patrick are my 5. DL Hall is probably a guy you can work if you want to toy with a 6 man rotation or give a night off to one of the top 5. Ashby can be used a lot the same way. I think that Yoho has to be in the Pen and there are a lot of very good pitching options for the Crew to win against any NL lineup. Civale seems like the one in the way right now.
  8. While I am completely understanding of the Brewers not being super active out there and support the move to simply use what you developed to win with instead of shopping the markets. I can say however it sure is boring. Brewers news in this week of the offseason is pretty dry right now. I would sure love to even see a video of Woody pitching again or Gasser throwing balls in rehab. I am Brewers deprived like sunshine in Feb!
  9. They have this with Ortiz. Ortiz can play SS, 3rd and a mean middle. Turang is the SS I believe and Caleb Durbin or Joey Ortiz will slide into 2nd base. Let Dunn play 3. His early 2024 was not what he wanted but there is a real live bat there. He has all the power and baserunning you need from anyone when he is hitting with purpose. Sal at 2 is not bad spot for him and it would solve a crowded outfield rotationally. Sal on 3 is did not look that bad to me either and he has the arm for it. The replacement of Adames is actually an opportunity for the Brewers to improve defensively. Turang is an instant upgrade to Adames there and Joey Ortiz is at least as good if not better on defense. If any other team lost a Willy Adames and made no moves over the offseason to replace his bat than the Brewers they would be scorned by all. The Brewers seem to have many options to make up for a missing piece as big as Willy Adames. IF Turang moves to Short , I think Caleb Durbin will get more than a strong look at replacing him at 2nd and Joey O can stay hot on the corner. If they move Joey O to SS I can see them running with Dunn at 3 and leaving Durbin as a platooner. Whatever they do I am ready for them to get on with it. Winter sucks ! Bring on BASEBALL!
  10. He will have to struggle and then overcome that before I am 100% sold . He sure looks up to the workload. I like his swing and I like that he is directional. He sure looked better in truth than as a prospect. I am excited to see him in 2025. He is one to watch closely. If he puts on the upper body weight his frame can carry he has a lot of room to become more than anyone thought. I am past ready for baseball.
  11. It amazes me how data is interpreted vs how I saw it live in each game last season. Tobias Myers was not deceptively beating batters with tricks . He just found out his ability to throw a 4 steamer with lift was almost impossible to hit when he found his command of the ball. Myers was fantastic through the most of the season. After he came up for Gasser he was exceptional and pitched like a guy who had figured something out. You could see him in the end of the 2023 season looking better than the entire rest of AAA pitching. He carried that into 2024 and added a Slider and Sweeper while in the rotation with the Brewers making him an even better more rounded pitcher. Myers was winning against the bats he faced because he figured things out. He stopped playing with reservations and was willing to try out new things to improve his chances of success. He was also very good at throwing strikes. Tobias Myers is just getting started . He is not tricking anyone to get there either. He has learned that his best plays at the highest levels and can get even the best batters to sit down with the stuff he throws. I cannot wait to see his 2025.
  12. I know he really wants to pitch again but I think that time has passed friends. The guys who are flat out ready for the starting rotation do not need to be held back by a guy who just wants to see if he can still do it. I love Miley but I think his time as an MLB pitcher ended with his last surgery. He may even have innings left to give but it is not fair to ask the Brewers to hold their Farm pitchers up to accommodate Wade Miley. If he wants to come on and help coach that is not far fetched. I do not see bringing him in right away and on the 40 man day one as a great move. If injury happens to the rotation and need happens then I could see activating him for some starts here and there but to just take a roster spot for Wade Miley with so many young guns in wait seems unfair to them and the franchise. Miley should embrace his future career as a pitching coach and see what he can do to help get these Farm arms into the rotation .
  13. The possibility of a bust comes with baseball. Two years ago if someone would have told a Brewers fan that Tyler Black would be teetering on irrelevance no one would have believed you. Busts happen but ranking talent is about the possibilities when a prospect puts it all together and becomes a pro. It is all based on what can be and what if so if the player eventually does bust then you can still call it a success of the franchises Minor league. Getting the talent to match the rest of what is needed to be a MLB position player always has an aspect of the risk of a player not being able to continue to improve at a rate that makes them a benefit to MLB play. If the player hits a wall and progress stops that is just part of that story. Bust are part of the gamble with any player. I have learned to roll with it and see it as just part of the game when building any type of team through a draft and develop system. Adams may bust but that should not have you fearing him in anyway. There will always be another project to step into another's place to see if they can become more. It is one of the great fun aspects of baseball which adds to the mystery and majesty of the development of MLB talent.
  14. I disagree. Black does not fit here. I see his best path to baseball is on another roster. Tyler Black is not a possible Garrett Mitchell level guy. He has not impressed many people in a while and seems to be going the wrong way. He serves no one in the minors but he really does not serve the interest of the Brewers. Turns out he is just not as good as planned and has not progressed as a defender enough to be useful . So let him develop someplace that has a spot for him to fit in. He seems trapped here right now.
  15. This is my Beyond Thunderdome lineups . To dream of number of games a player plays is how you doom them to injury for the season so I will leave that to you guys . This would be a good way to part the lineup in thunderdome rule baseball . This is a perfect example of offseason blues type thinking. DH: Rhys Hoskins,Christian Yelich C: William Contreras, Eric Haas 1B Christian Yelich(because why the hell not)/Rhys Hoskins 2B Sal Freilck/Caleb Durbin SS Brice Turang/Caleb Durbin 3B: Joey Ortiz/Oliver Dunn LF: Garrett Mitchell,Caleb Durbin CF: Blake Perkins, Garrett Mitchell RF: Jackson Chourio, Caleb Durbin, Sal Freilck
  16. Black is 1st base or done in Milwaukee in my opinion. Tyler Black 100% for sure makes a terrible 3rd base at the MLB level and cannot play there. Dunn however I was not unhappy with over there at the start of the season. I think he has potential . I think Ortiz stays on 3 though. I think Turang is SS.
  17. I do not think Matt Arnold thinks Ortiz is the SS like the media does. Every time asked Arnold says the job is covered by Turang and his platinum glove does not take him off that job. I think SS will be manned by Turang and Ortiz will stay at 3rd. I also believe that 2nd will be manned by Sal or Caleb Durbin and this is not that big of a mystery. The guy they have been grooming for the job for over many seasons beats the newcomer who just came here last season. Ortiz is probably a good SS too but Turang belongs there and was kept from the job by Willy Adames who had tenure and Star Power . That is not the case anymore and I believe the SS job is already marked for Brice Turang. Tyler Black needs to be taking only MLB at bats. I said it last year that the Crew needed to bring up Black and leave him up longer than a series at a time so he can accumate himself to MLB pitching. His down 2024 was 100% because he was told he would be up in 2024 and our Manager seemed to not like the guy very much personally and did not want him on the 2024 team. So I highly doubt that Murphy will suddenly change how he thinks of Tyler Black this season. Tyler Black seems doomed as a player on this team. I think trading him to a franchise that will allow him work would be the fair thing to do for Tyler. They really have no place for him especially with Durbin now on the roster and he being one of Murphy's favorite prospects. Tyler has a lot to learn yet at the highest level . He has nothing to learn in AAA. Anymore time in AAA will only damage Black and it is not fair to keep him in purgatory. I think the best option is a trade and a new beginning and the best way to make up for Willy is named Garrett Mitchell. Agreed .. Just get Sasaki. We want nice things too. Connor Thomas...***? I don't know what to think of the guy as a MLB pen player. Last time I watched him pitch was 6 years ago as a freshman and he struck out 10 for the Yellow Jackets. So where he has come in that time is anyone's guess. If he was anything great I highly doubt he gets Rule 5. Heck what do I know? He could come in and put Elvis and PAyamps to shame. Time will tell. I wish he was here on anything but Rule 5 though.
  18. You see this announcement is subterfuge( in my mind ) . Cover because they are actually in secret saving that money for one ROKI SASAKI! Save that and shop nowhere else! MaKe us all smile Matt Arnold! A Sasaki, Woodruff, Myers, Gasser, and Misiorowski as the eventual starting pitching group would not suck. Even in 2025 a Woody, Sasaki, Cortez,Myers and Freddy would sure look like The Way. I think we are 5 more days before the Brewers acquire the services of one Roki Sasaki. Those international kids are not worth the commitment and even they would understand that Sasaki is worth them losing their international contracts with the Brew. They won't even hold it against the Brewers if you pulled that money for Roki . Sasaki would give us World Series legitimacy and in short order it would give Matt another Award for best in the league at the end of 2025 making him one of the only COE to win it back to back ever if not the only one ever . I have been waiting for this for over 40 years Milwaukee. Can we please just get one of these bad asses who are not a project with no end? Sasaki vs Skenes matchups .. Man I can see the future and it all looks like BONZI to me! Roki Sasaki in Brewers colors is the dream of dreams. We would instantly have the best pitching prospect in human history and one who is committed to being coached and becoming the best pitcher of all time. He wants to be coached and we coach better than any pitching coaches in the game. SO can we just dream big ? Well we can for about another 5 days. Then the dream will be realized. GO CREW!
  19. I think they both become trade pieces eventually. Not for this guy but I think both of those players careers will be elsewhere.
  20. The answer is it depends. There have been cases but the general rule is by the time you make The Show you are probably getting close to maxing out. However in the Brewers case I see it differently as they let players like Turang, Sal and Mitchell develop at the highest level. It worked well with Brian Jackson Chorio as well. I think the group here still has a bit more baseball to grow into and can improve the exit velo worry some fans have. I think it is less important than the stat hounds make it seem though in the end. This team is not a combination of numbers like other baseball teams but living breathing players who will continue to get better as they grow into a man's body.
  21. Sal hate is strong with this one. Sal is on pace to improve his power . Every metric shows he should be producing more power shots and no one feared he would lack power completely when he was coming up . No this only developed in the last 12 months or so . Sal will be fine. Let him grow up and take on a man's body fully before we go writing off what Sal can and cannot do. Okay? Sal is one of this teams best players. I hate how fans see this group . I like Mitchell and see him as a guy who can bat .300 with a ton of homers but i also see Freilick as being able to homer more than he has. Sals best baseball is still to come.
  22. Tobias Myers is as much a part of the pitching rotation as Freddy right now. Why not include him in your work? Did he not earn a bit more respect? Or do we right off players now because they are not supposed to be good and are anyways? Am I really the only guy out there that thinks Myers is going to improve not the other way around? I hope not. We need him.
  23. Id take a .270 hitter who steals 50+ bags a season anyday. That is no numbers to sneer at and a starter in this system day one if that is the worst he will do. If he can get anywhere near north of the .280 mark this will be a massive trade success.
