  1. Should I replace the johnson rods as well? Sorry, I don't know what any of that means. I was only able to replace the fan because of step by step instructions I got on the Internet. Actually, I had my computer on for a good 2 hours the other night and everything seemed to run fine. No overheating. No blue screen of death. It seems like I get the blue screen of death when I just leave my computer on and am not using it. Instead of going to sleep or hibernation mode it goes to the blue screen of death.
  2. I have a Dell Inspiron 600 Laptop. It's about 4 or 5 years old. Mine started getting hot as well. I did all the things mentioned here. Blew compressed are into the fan. I even purchased a new fan online for $10 and replaced the old one. I'm not sure if any of that worked because my computer can't be on for more than a 40 minutes or so before the blue screen of death comes on (so I can't leave it on long enough to get really hot). I can't get the thing to hibernate or go into sleep mode. I've looked every where for solutions, but none that I have found have worked. I guess it's time to get a new laptop....but I'm putting it off as long as possible.
  3. Consumer reports rates these as the best models: Large Capacity: GE AHK65LK Medium Capacity: LG LHD45EL Small Capacity: Haier HD306
  4. You've gotta be kidding. They are going to wear red hats? Versus the Cards? That's just not right.
  5. You are correct. Although, I know from previous threads regarding Eckstien, there are some that do not like his style of play. I don't really understand that.
  6. Not with just a runner on first. It's still the batter responsiblity to run it out to 1st base. edit: By the way, at the risk of being banned from the sight, I like Eckstein. I realize his numbers are not good. However, the manner in which he plays the game is closer to how the player played the game that I grew up watching (Brett, Yount, Gwynn type players). Not so worried aobut his image that he's afraid to hustle once in a while.
  7. 2) Rollie Fingers - 1981. C'mon people!
  8. I hate how they called that guy a "die-hard" Brewers's fan. I highly doubt it.
  9. $100K may have been a bit of an overstatement, but not that much. At the time we were looking for a house around the $150K - $170K range. I know that every time we saw a house in that price range in Brookfield, we were very disapointed when we went to see it. One in particular that was in the neighborhood just east of Brookfield Square was awful and my thought if you puchased the place you were just basically paying for the land because the house needed total renovation, not to mention that it was small. We ended up paying $160K for a house in Waukesha. I truely believe that if you took the house we purchased with the lot size and placed it in Brookfield (based on the houses we saw in Brookfield for that price range), that it would have gone for at least $225K and probably more.
  10. Ever try this site?: www.eteamz.com They offer free sites for sports teams, or you can pay for extra features and memory for a nominal annual fee. We used it for my son's baseball team. It's very simple to use and is set up to put things such as rosters, stats, schedules, photos, team news, etc.
  11. Before we purchased the house we are in now in Waukesha about 10 years ago, we looked in Brookfield. While we realized that prices would be steeper in Brookfield, we were really shocked by the extra amount you pay for location there. It ended up being an extra 15 minute commute to work for us, but we settled on Waukehsa, because it just seemed like a similar house and lot size in Brookfield went for about $100,000 more. I would prefer to live in Brookfield, but not at that price.
  12. I know that with less than two outs and 1B occupied, the batter can not advance to first on a dropped third strike. However, what if there are less than two outs and the runner is either in the process of stealing 2nd or it's a passed ball that gets so far past the catcher that the runner at first takes off for second? Can the batter advance to first in either of these instances, and if so, can someone point to rule that states this? Thanks.
  13. Someone posted this video in an off topic thread about a month or so ago.
  14. C'mon. He looks like a fairly nice guy. I'm sure it's just a simple misunderstanding. He probably just needs a hug. I surely hope you meant to use blue font there. Sometimes the sarcasm is so obvious, that I feel I would be insulting everyone's intelligence if I used blue font.
  15. Exactly my point. If pitchers have no control over BABIP, then shouldn't every pitcher's life time BABIP be almost exactly the same?
  16. I'm sure all this is true, and I'm sure that people much smarter than me have studied this in depth. However, isn't a pitcher who gives up harder hit lazer beems that find the gap, less likely to have those ball fielded cleanly than a guy who's giving up weak grounders? I'm not seeing how either of these pitcher's BABIPs will regress (or rise) to the mean.
  17. I couldn't find it on JS online, but in the print version of the paper this morning ther is a graphic that states "Fast out of the blocks" and states the following.... Entering play Tuesday, the Brewers had a 24-14 record, the third-best mark in club history through 38 games. A look at their best starts through 38 games: Year: 2007 W-L 25-13 Pct .658 2009, 24-14, .632 1990, 22-16, .579 1987, 22-16, .579 So, either a typo (looks like the 2nd best start, not 3rd), or they forgot to put another year in there.
  18. That's funny Hawing...I just came out here to post this about "what's not bugging me".. There is an article in the Journal/Sentinel this morning about Farve's future. The part that is not bugging me about it is that it was buried on page 6 of the sports section towards the bottom. Two of the three articles on the front page pertain to the Brewers (the other is regarding the Buck's lottery pick). So, maybe the tide is turning.
  19. This is how it's been explained to me in the past as well. Hence, the reason they don't include walks and HRs. However, is this saying that pitchers don't have control over someone hitting a single, double, or triple off of them? It's like the stat is saying that pitchers are responsible for walks and HR, but not that double that get's hit high off the OF wall.
  20. I'm not sure that I'll ever understand the BABIP stat. It will always be dificult for me to buy into a pitching stat that throws out walks and HRs. Anyways, not that Wikipedia is always truthful, but this is it's explaination of BABIP: So, if you believe that. Then pitchers like Looper and Suppan who maybe had high BABIPs last year are due to have better BABIPs this year.
  21. The Gamster, Gam-o-matic, Gam-o-tron, Gam a lam a ding dong, Gamarino, Gam the man... ....makin' copies.... http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/b18155987bfb9e13ab62c6f0224f1924539ee3d.pjpg

  23. I'm not a fan of it at all. However, I can see the situation where you are moving within your same row or section. Even if you might think you are not bothering anyone, sometimes you are. Just because you are not drunk or obnoxious, does not mean you are not bothering someone. While it happens rarely in our section, there is the occasion when someone comes down and sits in front of us. I'm not a tall person (5' 8") and my son is 11. It's nice to occasionally have an unhindered view of the field. I don't mind it when a taller person is sitting in front of us and I know they have paid for those seats. I'm not happy when it's a seat jumper who is blocking my or my son's view. If you are going to jump seats, be aware of this and try not to sit in front of kids (or at least kids who appear interested in watching the game).
  24. Not sure why he would have an asterisk associated with his name? A. It happened in the minors B. I'm pretty sure it was marijuana related. I can't see Toronto trading him if they continue any where near the pace they are on now.
  25. I understand people not liking LaRussa, but I thought "3 Nights in August" was a pretty good read. Forget that the book is basically a documentary of LaRussa managing a 3 game series against the Cubs. The book gives the reader a pretty good picture of what all MLB managers go through on a pitch by pitch bases.
